Mister Sparky Electric - Atlanta

It was the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider. They took advantage of the fact that I am 84 years old and was recently widowed. They overcharged me by an obscene amount and their work was shoddy and unprofessional. They tried to get away with disconnecting the power from my detached garage but the municipal inspector forced them to reconnect it. They were angry about having to do this. They spent more time pressuring me to accept their financing than they did discussing the work. Their financing was, of course, more expensive than what I obtained on my own. shoddy, incomplete, messy work and had no trouble taking advantage of a recent widow. Shame on you, Mister Sparky.

Justin the electrician arrived in his slotted time. He was at our home for less than 10 minutes. He only looked at our fuse panel and did not look behind any outlets in the house. After looking at our fuses for 30 seconds, he told me it was burned and I needed an entire new panel. The quote he gave me was close to $8,000. I told him I needed to think about it. I had another electrician come for a second opinion. He did a thorough inspection of every electrical outlet and found a faulty wire. That was the only issue. He told me that if Justin had replaced the whole panel as suggested, our issue would not have been solved. Justin was completely incorrect in his diagnosis.

He replaced our whole electric board for the house. It went pretty well. I wish they would have labeled my panel better. I had to fix it myself. price was average.

I think the quality of their work is good but their prices are exorbitant and they try to scare you into purchasing things you don't need. With the electrical panel - my insurance company questioned if I needed everything they said I did. Mister Sparky would not respond after multiple attempts by both myself and my insurance company. I spoke with people at the company - so it's. it like they weren't getting the message. I would use them if I was in a bind but only in a bind.

The overall quality of the service was very good but the pricing was high. He would use them again because you pay for what you get. They had a two hour window they said they would show up during and they showed up at the beginning which was very pleasing.

They were not able to figure out the wiring troubles and after they left even though I am not trained, I figured it out. They had 2 people doing it, a senior guy and an apprentice and they couldn't figure it out and so I played around with it a little bit and I figured it out, and I am not an electrician. I am a finance person. They were extremely expensive.

I would probably give them "B" grade. Their cost was just very exorbitant and there was part of work that they don't do. They just said they don't do drywall work and so I got to be responsible for finding drywall repair.

They had to do a lot of fixing up of items for the kitchen.

As I recall this was an Angie's List referral and they were ridiculously expensive. I would never use them again. I think I had a $100 off Angie's List coupon. The repair took them not more than half an hour, I think it was less than that so I had the $100 off coupon and they ended up charging me another $200 or something behind that for a ridiculous amount of work. I also asked him for a quote for some other work and his prices were crazy, crazy, crazy high. They were absurd. I just paid him for what he did and will never call him back. They need to change their whole pricing structure, they are always insane, unless they are paying their electricians who are going out doing the work $200 per hour or something like that. They need some real changes. The service was fine; he fixed it. It was just the price was crazy. I felt really taken advantage of because I realized it was a small repair that I could have done my self. The quality was fine. It worked. The responsiveness was fine.

They came out four times to try and switch out the fan switch but the first few guys didn't know what to do. Then they finally got it installed but the tech left an exposed wire in the attic. I told them to come back for the fifth time but they missed their appointment and never called me back. I had to call them and they told me that they have never done service work in my area and would not come out. However, they have already been here four times.

I found their prices a little absurd but other than that, I'm fine.

I signed what I was told a 1 year warranty on the work. A year later, I noticed my checking account had a charge to it I had not authorized. They had automatically charged me for another year's warranty. When I called to ask about it I was told it was in the contract. It would have been nice for them to be honest about this up front. I would have never signed up for the initial warranty.

I've used Mister Sparky several times, and I've always had good experiences with the company. They listened to what I wanted, they thoroughly explained the scope of the project as well as its costs, and they did a great job.

It went better than I expected. I would recommend to a friend.

They're a little expensive but they do good work. They're very responsive!

Their estimate was to fix my entire house not fix the problem. I called another company and was give an estimate on fixing my problem. I also request a quote on fixing what Mr Sparky quote and was $1,500 cheaper. I fell like as a woman they wanted to take advantage of me.

We have used Mr. Sparky in the past and have been very well pleased until this time. The tech that came out did not call before coming. He did not wear shoe covers while inside the house. Mr. Sparky does not live up to their 100% service and repair guarantee which says on the back of their cover that "If our electricians smoke or swear in your home; are not drug free; DO NOT WEAR SHOE COVERS or leave your home without cleaning up, YOU DO NOT PAY FOR THE SERVICE". The price was higher to install this ceiling fan than other ceiling fans we had installed in the house by Mister Sparky. Also last Mister sparky tech that came out said our celling fan box was fine. This tech said he had to install new celling fan box. Tech also untucked his shirt while he was here working. I would not use this company again.

I have used this company at my previous address. I called this time and they will not waive their crazy 90.00 fee to just come out and give me a quote. They are afraid of all of the Mom & Pop companies that I could find on Angies List. So basically, they come out and give you a quote competitive or not and then want you to pay them 90.00. This was the national call center that called me back. As I told the lady, I am not going to beg to give you my business - my money! She can see where I used them in the past and this "let me gouge you fee of 90.00 was waived. Now if the local office wants to call me and give me a quote, I might consider it but as for now, I will find someone else on Angie's list. It is as if they are already acknowledging that Angie's List has other companies that will beat them and this is why they gouge you with the 90.00 fee to come out.

Always on time and always quality work by considerate techs.

They did a very good job. I did feel it was a little costly. He did show me all the prices and was very informative. I was very satisfied with the level of service.

The work itself was satisfactory however the entire time the service person was at my home I felt like I was being hustled to buy additional services. It also took an inordinately long time to complete the work and, if this is typical, it is no wonder the charge was this high since they (service person and trainee) spent a LONG time at my address. Just not that impressed with the experience.

They were very good. This is the second time we used them. We were very pleased with their service.

I liked that he gave me options for the way he could do the wiring. They are very nice and are very knowledgeable.

It was wonderful. Matthew was very knowledgable and professional. The work was high quality and Matthew was very helpful and informative. He also did a safety inspection report and gave some suggestions but said everything was in good order. I would definately call them for any future needs.

The Mr. Sparky electrician arrived promptly and was courteous. The work took two days to complete (two electricians involve part of the time) so I was not on-site but a short time. When the work was completed, the electrician showed me what he had done and explained very briefly the operation of the timer for the lights. This was a digital timer mounted in the wall behind a typical-sized wall light switch plate. He had no instructions for the timer with him, but promised to bring it by. This took about a week and a couple of reminder phone calls to the electrician to get it delivered. When I read the instructions and began trying to set the timers, I realized that I had a big problem with the size and readability of the timer, and the location of the timer (height above the floor). The timer display was too small to read without a flashlight and magnifying glass while stooping over. Also the user friendliness of the instructions was very lacking. This was a major issue, considering the $3200 bill that we paid. Since I was not at all satisfied with the timer, I tried to contact the electrician or his supervisor. No one returned my call. After several days of trying to reach a person in their office I talked with someone who said they would give my message to the Manager of that location. Again no returned call. A second message was left on their voice mailbox. Again no returned call. Then I left two detailed irate comments on the national website, assuming that they would probably be buried in summaries at the corporate level, but it was worth trying. Again no calls were received from Mr. Sparky at any level. The Mr. Sparky approach to customer satisfaction, as far as I saw, tells me that their company philosophy is "Once we have your money.....Bye Bye". I would not use nor recommend this company.
