Majestic called to let me know they were available to start the appointment earlier, which was really appreciated. Eric did a thorough job on all 3 bathrooms, half bath, kitchen and laundry area, pointing out many areas I needed to address, including an old water heater. I appreciated him explaining everything so thoroughly and in terms I could understand. I was impressed with all he discovered was going on with my 14 year old faucets/valves/etc. I would recommend Majestic Plumbing to others.

The sump pump (or ejector pump) in our basement failed causing a flood in one area. Naturally, this is a problem you want solved asap. We called three plumbing companies before deciding on Majestic based on responsiveness, liability insurance, and scheduling. Service was prompt and a top line replacement pump was in place by the end of the day. The new pump has a longer guarantee and operates with far less noise than the original one. All in all, we were very pleased and have already recommended Majestic to a friend in need of a good plumber.

I spent over $12,000 and went from being a very satisfied to a disappointed customer. My previous rating was issued because of the work performed by Steve, since he is no longer with the company and the company did not honor his deals, I have chosen not to do business with Majestic Plumbing. There are many plumbing options in Atlanta. I thought that my relationship with Majestic would grow and that they would work towards providing outstanding customer service, but I've realized that past work doesn't matter, they just want to make an easy buck. As I already mentioned in my December 2015 Update: I changed my rating for this company from an overall score of A to a C. Reasons are provided below: 1. My original plumber, Steve, is no longer with the company and the job that he bid on and I paid for was only 90% complete. 2. Getting all new piping requires a lot of walls to be demolished to gain access to the pipes; this caused 10% of the work to not be completed because Steve left the company. 3. Fixtures were never re-installed, so the company was charging me hundreds of dollars just to install a sink in my kitchen (labor only, as I had purchased the new sink and faucet). 4. New plumber was charging me for the job as a brand new project. he tried to justify his pricing by telling me he was going to upgrade a couple of valves under the kitchen sink. 5. I felt like I was taken advantage of and decided never to do business with this company again.
Description of Work: The reason why this company is outstanding is because of people like Steve. When I was looking for a quote to repipe my home I had several reputable companies provide "book price" for the job, ignoring the the fact that all my Pipes were easily accessible. Steven is honest, reasonable, logical, and works extremely hard to exceed expectations. He is the only reason I had a $10,000+ job done with Majestic Plumbing. Steven installed copper pipes for water and PVC (plastic) pipes for waste. I am a satisfied customer and would highly recommend Steven for all plumbing needed ranging from the most basic to the most complex. The level of difficulty of the job he performed was high due to the repositioning of my laundry room, but he understood my request and completed it quickly, with high quality and within budget. ------------------------------------------------ UPDATED December 2015: I changed my rating for this company from an overall score of A to a C. I am extremely impressed w/ Majestic and in particular the technician, Eric Hardy, that handled my problem. I had a leak in my main water line. Majestic scheduled a technician to come out the next morning for a free estimate. I received three estimate for the work and Majestic was the lowest by over 30%. I scheduled a service to have my water line replaced by Eric. At that point the actual location of the leak was unknown. Over the weekend the leak finally surfaced thru my lawn. I contacted Majestic and Eric was off duty. He called me back on his personal time to check w/ me. He met me at my house Monday morning at his earliest opening. He identified and fixed the leak w/o having to replace my entire line. The cost was a fraction of what the larger job would have been. He is an excellent representative of your company and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. I will recommend your company w/o hesitation in the future. Keep up the great work. Best Regards, Ted

The service was excellent. Plumber showed up on time for the estimate and gave me a very competitive bid. He said he was available to start immediately and so I had the work done that day. Plumber had to run the drip leg through 3 interior walls and 1 exterior (brick) wall. Also replaced 2 very old gas values (oven and range) and disconnected an old water heater (wasn't being used). While disconnected water heater he realized the ice maker was connected to the same pipe. He added a value for the ice maker at no additional cost since he missed it in his estimate.

Majestic honored its one year warranty, even though it had expired two weeks earlier. Therefore, they applied the $200 we had paid 1 year ago to the current work. We thought that was very fair. (One year ago, a different plumber had replaced rusty, leaking metal pipes with plastic pipes, but in a less expensive $200 way, versus the $500 best way, and the new pipes had started to jostle loose and leak.) The plumber Sandy was courteous, explained our plumbing choices well, and didn't try talking us into work that didn't really need to be done. "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."
Description of Work: Majestic roughed in a new kitchen sink drain, since the plumbing under my kitchen sink had started to leak. They also installed a new pressure relief valve (a safety device) on my hot water heater.

It all went about as easily as it could go, and I was very happy with the price. They were also generous enough to show me how to take apart the plumbing under the kitchen sink so I could clean those pipes and make sure they were not part of the problem. Steven explained everything he did, and why he did it. There were no high pressure sales tactics, and no unnecessary concerns for issues that were not a problem. I would highly recommend this company.

Absolutely terrible experience. To begin, spoke on phone with owner. Needed garbage disposal, kitchen faucet, 2 sink faucets, shower handle and tub faucet reconnected after putting in upgraded countertops. They knew exactly how much I needed. Serviceman arrived a little after 8, started actual work about 9:10. 9:40 gets a call, they want him on another job between 10 and 12. 11:45, finally finished kitchen, had 3 more phone calls about going to another client. I had had it, told him to leave and I would finish the bathroom. He balked, didn't want to change invoice. Offered to return next day. I told him I would do it myself, after whining from him about the invoice, finally said if I need him I will call. I put in the 2 sinks and shower handle. Couldn't do the tub. Called and foolishly let him return the next day to do the tub. Arrived, asked to move his truck over so truck picking up furniture donated to charity could get in. He then asked me if I give to charity, do I have a full mattress for him. I looked at him and said, no. Then he said, well, I could use a new couch to go in my living room. No response. It was too rude to respond. 4 hours later he finishes the tub. Tied me up for 2 days, exorbitant cost! It got worse from there. Totally unprofessional, from scheduling work and calling to leave for another customer, to begging not to change invoice for work not performed, to asking for giving furniture. Never again would I use this company!!!!

Response from Majestic Plumbing & Electric
Our policy is for a service technician to finish the job he is on, not to be pulled for another client. We try to make the client that we are on to feel like they are our only client, even though we have 10's of thousands existing clients. The plumber should not have left this job initially. This is something we have addressed in our Dispatch department so that this never happens again. The plumber stated that he never asked the client for their furniture. All of our service technicians have been informed of this clients complaint and instructed to never accept a clients property, even if it is being given away.

TOP NOTCH! Everyone was so nice to work with..from the person who did the estimate to the office personnel, to the tech.Eric, who actually did the job. Eric was running about an hour late, but the office called to inform me instead of letting me dangle waiting. Eric arrived within that hour, was pleasant, professional and did the job efficiently! Would DEFINITELY recommend Majestic!

The wifey and I were smelling sewer gas coming up the shower drain. We had a tech come out, and of course the smell wouldn't present itself when he was there, to see if he could solve the mystery. The tech couldn't find anything wrong and sold us a bottle of Endure and said to call back if it didn't work. To our dismay the Endure didn't work. So, we had a different tech, from the same company, come out to see if he could find a problem. Long story short he couldn't find anything either. I did ask that the sewer vent be checked for a clog. The tech said he wasn't going to get on the roof 1) for the height and 2) for the steepness of the roof. He said that we need to higher a roofer to do that. I couldn't argue with him because it is a very high and steep roof. However, he did go into the attic to test the sewer vent for leaks. While up there we noticed that the vent fans for the bathroom were not properly installed. But that wasn't the source of the smell. In the end the sewer gas smell still comes back every now and then. Actually, it hit that night when I took a shower after the tech had left. Overall, I'm satisfied with Majestic Plumbing's service. I really can't blame them for not fixing something when there's not any evidence of anything being wrong while they were there. I may try and call a roofer or other plumbing service to see if they will check the sewer vents from the roof top. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what to do.

I felt like the charge for the service was extremely overpriced to install a garbage disposal that we had already purchased! The plumber who came out was very professional, and quoted me around $400. I said thanks, but I thought it was too high and that I was going to check around for more quotes from other plumbers. He understood, and about 20 minutes later, I got a call from the owner of the company asking why the plumber didn't install the disposal. He said that it cost them money to send people out, and he just wanted to know why the service wasn't performed. I explained to him that I thought the price was too high. The owner then said that he could do it for $300.00, and that his plumber could come right back and install it. Thinking I was getting a "deal", and I needed to get it done, so I agreed to it. Recently, a sub-contractor was in my house fixing the kitchen faucet sprayer, and out of curiosity, I asked how much he would charge to install a garbage disposal. He said about $80.00.

Unfortunately, this client did not describe the entire scope of work. Our professional LICENSED PLUMBER(not a handyman) had to re-plumb some of the drain lines underneath the sink to get the garbage disposer to fit and drain properly. The plumber also had to rewire the electrical under the sink, since it was not installed properly. Any handyman can charge much less if he does not have the proper insurance or license to protect the owners property. We carry $2 million worth of General Liability insurance(in case of damage to the property), as well as a $1 million umbrella policy(for additional protection). We also carry $1 million of auto insurance. We carry $500k workers comp( in case of injury, the property owner is not sued). We have $100k Crime policy to cover any accusation of theft.

This was the first time I used Angie's List and Majestic Plumbing and both are exemplary! I received a call within a few hours from Majestic after buying the inspection, then an e-mail confirmation. I received confirmation calls from Eric, a certified plumber, arrived on time, was professional, answered my questions, and did a very thorough job. For a while my water had been running sluggish and my hot water heater was aging. As it turns out, there were many problems in my 35-year-old home which included a disconnecting and corroded exhaust pipe from my 12-year-old hot water heater which was leaking carbon monoxide into my crawl space, wasted water from running toilet, mineral deposits in my faucet screens, and very low pressure in the whole system. We discussed a couple of options to correct all of this but I did not feel pressure to make any decisions at that moment. He gave me what I considered to be a fair estimate for two options and I chose to go with a tankless water heater, which I had been offered 12 years ago when I had the HW heater replaced. As we were talking I researched the Rheem 95 unit on my iPhone and it is their top of the line item. I agreed to the offer and three days later Eric arrived at 8, removed the heater, installed the tankless, replaced the regulator, and all of the other work. He said it would take a day and at 8:00 they left! They worked efficiently but mindful of details, were friendly, cleaned up thoroughly and gave instructions on usage. From start to finish Majestic was so professional and I even recommended them to my neighbor who came over to ask a question during the process! I now have cleaner air, beautifully clean dishes (no spots), smooth running water, cleaner clothes, and it even smells nicer when showering!! Hard to believe but true. I definitely will use Angie's List and Majestic Plumbing and Electric again!
Description of Work: Eric thoroughly inspected my whole house plumbing system from street meter, hot water heater, water pressure throughout, inside toilet fixtures, cleaned faucet screens, and asked usage questions as he went along. Following that he and the apprentice installed a tankless water heater, pressure regulator, toilet fixtures and valves, discarded old water heater, sealed up leaking gas exhaust from old unit and cleaned up thoroughly. An A+++ job!!

I had a problem with my water heater that appeared to be an issue with the gas valve. Sandy, the technician, worked with the manufacturer to confirm the problem and then arranged for parts to be delivered from the manufacturer for repair. That was in December. After the initial job, I continued to have sporadic problems with the heater and Sandy has stayed on top of the manufacturer to diagnose additional issues. He worked directly with the manufacturer and came back three different times to do different repairs - all covered under the cost of the initial job. The heater now appears to be functioning normally but I'm more impressed by Sandy and Majestics persistence in getting the job done right.

Majestic came out on a Monday (2/9) and gave us a quote for the water heater replacement. They listed a few other things they needed to do, and threw some things in for free on top, and gave me a quote for a short (remember that) water heater. However, the quote was quite high (they also quoted for the thermal tank separately when the other companies included it in their quotes). We had used Majestic before, and were happy with the work and service, so we wanted to give them a chance to win the job. This is where the situation went south. The Wednesday after they gave us the quote, I called around 11am to see if they could lower their estimate at all for the job, hoping to have the job done on Friday (a day that worked perfectly with our schedule). I was told someone would call me back about the quote. I hadn't heard back from them by Thursday afternoon, so I called them around 4pm to follow-up. Spoke to the same person as I did the day before, who insisted he would print out my estimate and give it to someone who would call me back that evening. Fast forward to Friday afternoon, and still heard NOTHING. At this point, I was ready to go with one of the other companies. I was in a good mood though, so called back one more time. This time, I spoke to someone different who immediately transferred me to Angie. Angie apologized profusely for the oversight, and immediately put me in touch with Lonnie (manager) to discuss my quote. Lonnie agreed to lower my quote a bit (including throwing in the thermal tank for free). His sticking point was charging $100 in order for them to pull the county permit for the work (they were the only company that said they did this during the quoting phase, and told me once the job is complete I should hear from the county shortly thereafter for an inspection of the work). So, the total estimate came to just under $1500. I was happy with that quote, relative to the other quotes we received, so we scheduled for Monday 2/16 (President's Day) at 1pm for the job. That weekend, reports of bad weather on Monday were rampant. However, by Sunday evening, the reports turned to more of a rain event than anything except in northeast Georgia (I am in Marietta). Monday came, and around 10am I got a call from Majestic telling me that due to the weather, they were pulling all their crews off the road by noon, so I would have to reschedule. I understand the safety concern, but I was slightly annoyed since all we got in my area was rain. But, I understood about employees having to drive home, so I took it with a grain of salt and rescheduled for Wed between 2-5pm. My main annoyance was that I had wanted the job done the previous Friday, but due to the company not returning my calls that day was out the window, replaced with a less-convenient Wednesday appointment. So, Wednesday comes, and I get a call, again, from Majestic at 10am. The technician I requested (the one that gave the quote) was sick. They proceeded to tell me that they could have another crew, their technician supervisor, come out that day, but it wouldn't be until 4pm at the earliest, and more likely after 5. Not wanting to mess with my schedule any more than I already had, I agreed with some reluctance (would rather not have people in my house late at night when I'm trying to wind down from the day). I get a call around 4 saying the crew would arrive in 45 minutes, but they didn't arrive until 5:10ish. Regardless, they were there and got started on the work. It took them about 3 hours to complete the job, and everything appears to have been done well (from what I can tell, anyway...everything is working properly at least). They did give me a recommendation for a whole-house water filter, since we have a galvanized pipe feeding the house, but didn't try to sell me on it at that moment. Overall, they worked well with very little interruption to us (water was off for the service, of course, but they did leave the gas on [for the heat] for all but 10 minutes or so). Even re-lit the furnace once they turned the gas back on, which was nice. The final price was exactly what I was quoted, which is also a great thing as some companies try to nickel-and-dime over their estimates. A couple complaints with the service, though. They didn't leave the utility room (basement room where the heater is) as clean as they found it. They had to move the water heater from its original spot, and failed to clean the old spot of debris. Also, they left the finished floor in the room dirty, scuffed up, and left some debris strewn about (metal shavings, wrappers, etc) . They also tracked some mud in through the finished basement as well. Nothing major, but a complaint nonetheless. Also, as I noted above, I was quoted for a short tank (which is the size I had, and which is what fit in that spot). Based on the model number of the one installed, they put in a tall tank, which, as also noted, they had to move from the original spot to make fit. Not a HUGE deal, but more annoying than anything since I had been quoted/told I was getting a short tank all along. Now, I have an unpainted/unfinished spot on the floor that I probably need to address. One small, final point. It has been a week since they installed the heater and, supposedly, pulled a permit with the county. However, I have yet to hear from the county regarding the required inspection of the job. Granted, the county is probably in no hurry to make sure my water heater was installed properly, but IF I never get the call from them, I won't be pleased that I had to pay for a permit pull that may never have been necessary. Obviously, it isn't Majestic's fault if the county doesn't do their job, but I also don't think I should be on the hook for the $100 for a mystery permit/inspection (assuming I'll never see said permit in the event that no inspection happens). To sum it all up, I am relatively happy with the quality of the actual work done and the manner in which it was completed. The price was in line with other quotes once I was able to haggle a bit as well, and all interactions with their employees were positive. However, events surrounding the job (lack of responsiveness, cleanliness, little concern for customer inconveniences) soured me a bit. Will I still consider Majestic in the future and recommend them? Yes, sure. However, they didn't do anything this time around to make them my go-to plumber if I'm in a jam. They are on my short-list, but didn't do anything to place themselves head-and-shoulders above their competition. UPDATE: After I wrote this review, I received a letter from Majestic (2 weeks after the job), thanking me for my business and asking me to call Majestic so they could schedule for the county inspection of the job. I did, it was scheduled, and the inspector came today. He was slightly concerned at the angle of the exhaust vent, but determined it was enough of an upward run to be fine.

It worked out just fine. We had a small problem in our basement and they corrected it with a new piece of pipe. They were at the home for 1.5 – 2 hours.
Description of Work: I bought a deal for $85 for $155 of professional plumbing services. We had to buy additional materials but we had anticipated additional costs ahead of time.
