The plumber "Bob", who is by far the best I have ever worked with, came out to give me an estimate, we thought that we would just replace the electric water heater with a gas one, as we have a gas cook-top. Bob gave me an estimate and we agreed, on the day he was to start work, after about an hour under the house, we have a crawl space and a 1920's bungalow home, Bob emerged and said he could not vent the water heater, and tank-less was our only option. We discussed pricing on the tank-less and agreed it would be the best option. Bob came back a few days later and the work was done in two days, he had a helper, and they both worked really hard, I was very impressed with their work-ethic and knowledge, would highly recommend them based on my experience with the water heater. I have written a separate review of the electrical side, which was far from good! I discussed with Bob about installing a recessed fan in the shower and the electrical connections that had supported the old water heater, he referred me to their electrical side, as I said, that was a completely different and exceptionally poor engagement which I will review under another posting. So, based on the water-heater, great! Electrical, I will never ever use them again and could not recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Removed electric hot water heater and installed a gas tank-less water heater.

I had our water-heater replaced by Majestic and they did an outstanding job, please see other review of that job, so while the plumber was here, I asked about some light electrical work that I also needed done, first to remove a recessed light and install a light/fan combination, estimated cost $500, then they tell me a fan cannot go in the shower stall. Well some research and a call to NuTone and a trip to Home Depot and I have a fan/light rated for wet areas, like shower stalls. Now I ask again, since the electrician must come out to cap the line in the basement, this time I am referred to the electrical manager, Skip. We discuss the price, and what I need done, he tells me the price included the fan, which according the electrician cannot be installed where I wanted it, Skip tells me I simply misunderstood... perhaps this one time, yes, but this seems to become a theme with Skip! So, we agree to install the fan, and the light and troubleshoot the outside light, $400; and that the electrical connection to the old hot water heater would be capped as part of that install, so OK. Well, they show up to do the fan, but nothing more, so another call to Skip, and again, I must have misunderstood, so the fan goes in, but its not vented, because they don't do that, just install! There's an existing fan and vent pipe, could they tie into that, yes, but that will cost extra! What? Same story, I'll have to talk to Skip again! Then they make a mess on my floor, and mark up my walls with their boots, please see photos! They do get the light in the basement done, thank you for that! They don't ever touch the electrical connection to the old hot water heater would was to be capped as part of that install, tell me to just turn off the breaker! Wow, thanks for that! AS regards the outside light, they just stood under it, asked me if I had a latter, and when I asked didn't they keep that stuff on their truck, they then said, it must be replaced. So for $400, I got a dirty floor, some boot marks on my walls and a working light in my basement!
Description of Work: Installed a shower recessed fan in the master bath, installed a light in the crawl space, asked to cap off electrical connections from old water heater in basement, which they did not do, despite having had the plumber from the company say it needed to be done and included in his quote, troubleshoot an outside light that flickers, which they spent about 2 minutes looking at, and then said it would need to be replaced.

Went well. Very thorough. However, he said we needed a pressure reduction valve when in fact we already had one installed, and all that was necessary was a pressure adjustment of the existing valve.

Since these were quick fixes, and there was a minimum trip fee, the plumber checked all our other toilets and hot water heaters, finding and fixing small or potential problems. So we got good value for our money.

Had a rental in which the renter had put grease in sink which, of course, clogged it. They worked me in that day and tried to clear the clog as easily as possible but this had been going on a while and was past the pea trap. Cleared it out and replace the pvc piping underneath the sink also.

All in all it was a very satisfactory if somewhat pricey service. The technician arrived a little bit late due to complex problem with prior call, but was good about communicating on the delay, and certainly went over and above getting as much done as he could that day - running out to get parts and returning to do the work into the evening. He did a very thorough review and took his time explaining to me all aspects of his findings - root cause, and the short term/long term fixes he could suggest (aka cheaper and more expensive fixes), as well as mitigation suggestions going forward. And he completed the flush and showed me how to do it myself next time. Very helpful, very professional, very polite young man. Sorry I do not recall his name to highlight here. We knew we had an issue with a leaky faucet in the kitchen and wanted it fixed asap; he also found slow leaks in most of the toilets (worn out ball/chain apparatus), some caulking leaks (and original caulking misses) in the bathtubs/showers and a slow faucet handle leak we hadn't noticed in the master bathtub. We went ahead and got him to fix all the items, but I must admit the price tag for those repairs was a bit of a shock - he looked them up in his book in front of me to show me as he filled out the estimate. I feel like it was pretty pricey but we saved some through the initial coupon and he did some of the minor work like the caulking without additional charge. If he had been unable to complete the work that day (and it was already late afternoon on a Friday), I would have definitely shopped around for another estimate, but he was willing to tackle them on the spot and that was worth a lot to me to so we went ahead. He went right out to pick up the needed parts and came back and worked late to complete. In the end there was one issue in which the master tub faucet repair went south - it turned out to be unrepairable and it was apparent a replacement would instead be needed. Also, opening it up made the problem worse, so we now had a faster slow leak to contend with. This was bad news as replacement was definitely a more expensive proposition ($400 plus parts) as it would opening up the tiled-over end of the tub, so I decided if we had to go that route I would also upgrade the faucet to add a spray-wand attachment. The tech was very good about offering to credit all the work he had already done on the repair toward the replacement (and he spent some time and tried multiple things to keep it to a repair vs replace), so when he left we did not have it fixed but I will be able to use the $125 repair amount towards the remaining $400 unit replacement. I don't believe he did anything wrong, he hoped a more conservative approach would work and save us money but it turned out to be too far gone. He made sure he got an authorization number for the pending credit from the central office so we wouldn't have issues in using it. In the end, we spent more than I had anticipated (tallied up to over $800 and I had thought maybe half of that), but all the issues were real and we have peace of mind knowing we were well inspected and all trouble spots dealt with. I felt more in control of the process than if I had made a specific service call (for the sink issue) and then been saying.. and while you're here could you look for any other problems in the entire house? The young man who did the work was very diligent, very hardworking, very good at explaining things to me, and I felt he went the extra mile in every way to give us the best result he could. My only complaint was a perception the standard pricing for each service seemed a bit steep.
Description of Work: Provided an inspection/health check of all major plumbing systems in house (each bathroom ie sinks, toilets, bath/showers) and a flush of the water heater. Inspection resulted in identification of several items needing repair work, some which we knew of and some we had not known.

On Friday June 26th we had Majestic, who we had used before, come out to install a wax ring on our toilet at our home in Dunwoody. They were at the house for a little over one hour, including the time needed to prepare the estimate and invoice. There was nothing complicated about the job, the bolts were not rusted, and the toilet came off and went on easily. They performed no other requested work. Majestic charged $366.20 to perform this work. Thinking that this seemed expensive, after the plumber left I went out to homewyse.com and got a quote for what a wax ring installation should cost. This is what I found. Wax Ring Cost - Non-discounted retail cost for common, mid-grade wax ring. 1 ring $3.76 - $4.62 Wax Ring Labor - Direct labor expenses to install wax ring. Includes planning, job equipment and material acquisition, area preparation, setup and cleanup. 2 hrs $103.13-$125.01 Wax Ring Job Materials and Supplies - Cost of supplies that may be required to install wax ring including: connectors, fittings and mounting hardware. 1 ring $25.00 Total: $131.89 - $162.33 On the morning of Monday June 29th I called three competitive plumbers, including a large chain. The prices quoted were $150, $158.12 and $169.99. So I called Majestic back at 9 AM, and asked them to have the Manager, Claude call me back. The dispatcher said she would call back within 30 minutes. And then I waited. And waited. I called again at noon and, and got the same dispatcher. She was nice and assured me that she would get with Claude and make sure he called me back. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I called back again around 4 PM, and talked to Jarvis. He provided great customer service, apologized for the lack of responsiveness, made note of the fact that my calls we're not being returned, and forwarded an email to Claude, with a CC to the Owner. 'FINALLY, Claude called me back. Things started off fine. I told him I had two bathroom renos coming up, and if he wanted to be my plumber, he would have to knock the price down to $150-180. Unfortunately he quickly became defensive and argumentative. His argument for why the price was higher, if you can believe it, was "We are a real company, with nice trucks. You can't compare our prices with your local plumbers." Wow. So your argument is "we are just more expensive than everybody else". And you are saying this in a hostile fashion after failing to call me back after three requests and seven hours. He eventually got around to saying he would apply the Angie's List coupon and reduce it by $100, but that still leaves the price almost double the other quotes I received. Furthermore, Claude's attitude and lack of responsiveness left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I will never use them again. They have lost out on several thousands of dollars in imminent business.

Did an excellent job. Was timely and thorough. Job would have cost exactly what the special offered ($75 but we decided to have all toilets secured, which they did. I'm not elated with the cost ($44 to secured each) but it was worked needed and they did a very good job of securing them. I would certainly hire them again.,

They came out at night. They came here at 20 until 10 in the evening and left at here at 10 until 2 a.m. When I contacted my neighbors to see who they used. They had an estimate of $1,500, so it was around that. The thing of it is they only charged $95 more to come at night after hours. It was worth it for us.

There was some water leaking in our front yard after our yard was tilled, so my husband called a plumbing company to come and determine where the leaking was coming from. Time was of an essence, because pallets of sods were sitting in the heat waiting to be put on. Earlier that day, another plumbing company had assessed our sewage line with a camera. They charged us $89 for the service call and an additional $350 for the use of the camera. They determined our sewage line was cracked and improperly pitched. It was going to cost us $7, 500 to fix. I wanted a second opinion so I decided to call Majestic based on the Angie's List reviews and boy am I glad I did!!! They were booked solid, but the owner made himself available to assess the situation, When he couldn't do a complete assessment, he sent one of his technicians to come by and do it. They did not charge a service fee and the use of the camer was a lot less. Conclusion? Majestic FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY SEWAGE PIPE! The first plumbing company lied and tried to defraud us of close to $8,000. This company, which I don't know if I can name, is also on Angie's List, but not rated as high. Thank you Majestic...you have a customer for life!

I had initially scheduled for an afternoon a couple days later in the week. Instead, Majestic called to alert me that there was someone in our area on the same day I'd called, and he could be there around 5:30pm. I was very appreciative of this because that meant I could meet him at my house after work instead of having to take the afternoon off and come home. The technician, Eric, arrived right on time as promised , was very polite and pleasant, and was quickly able to diagnose our issue.

Had a broken pipe in the wall that led to an outdoor faucet. They had to go into the drywall to repair. Phil was excellent and only made a small cut to gain access to the broken pipe. Installed a better faucet and anchored it much better that the original installation. Cleaned up and left no mess. Phil was excellent and I would personally request him for any future repairs. They worked with me on the appointment time and were very prompt in arriving within the window they promised. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and accommodating. Will definitely use them for my future plumbing needs.

I picked Majestic because they were one of the few companies that knew, or cared, that a permit and inspection are required for replacing a hot water heater in my area. I'd already done research on this, and was surprised how many companies told me 'not to worry about it.' My plumber, Eric Harris, was prompt, courteous, and answered every question I had thoroughly. He told me about a deal they were offering on hot water heaters that I didn't know about that saved me money. He didn't even bat an eye when it took 30 minutes to find the water shutoff for my condo...the landscapers at my condo complex had buried it under almost a foot of mulch and debris...or when he had to haul the units up and down three flights of stairs. Mr. Harris said he enjoyed his job and it absolutely shows in his work - he was meticulous and left the area spotless. I really appreciated his professionalism and will definitely use this company again.
