Majestic Plumbing & Electric

It was a really quick and easy experience, actually. I had been having "issues" with my kitchen sink and with the help of the folks at Home Depot, diagnosed the problem as a broken/leaking garbage disposal. I bought all of the parts that I needed -- including a new disposal -- and came to Angie's List to find a plumber. Majestic was offering a "big deal," so I quickly bought the deal and scheduled my appointment! Fast forward by a couple of days -- my choice, due to work travel -- and Lonnie was scheduled to arrive between 2pm and 4pm. He arrived shortly after 2pm and couldn't have been nicer -- he came in, took a look at the issues and quickly gave me two service (and price) options. The work was performed in less than 20 minutes and then I was all set! Really, it was that easy!

Not a long story. He was very polite - came in, introduced himself to my husband (I was not home yet), ran the snake in the drain system. Went down to check the sink downstairs to make sure it was running properly. He then cleaned everything up, waiting a few minutes for he to get home, gave me the additional cost and I paid him. When I talked to the person on the telephone, he acted as if I may not owe any more money but the person who did the job for me told me they had a set price to unclog drains so he substracted what I had credit for from what I owed and told me the difference. I would think the person on the telephone would have known that I would owe something if they have a set fee for unstopping drains. That is the only part I was not entirely happy with.

Some time ago, I noticed that my front hose nozzle was leaking. I shut off the water and figured I'd call a plumber at some point to fix it. After waiting long enough, I decided to check Angie's List. I ended up deciding on Majestic Plumbing after learning that I was not in the service area for the first company that I called. I noticed that they had a Big Deal offer that included a water heater flush - which seemed ideal to me. The other companies charge a fee just to come out and provide a quote. At least with the Big Deal I received a guaranteed service. Majestic was able to schedule an appointment that met my needs. They provided a 2 hour time block for the appointment (service person would arrive during that time frame). I received a call on the morning of my appointment asking if the technician (Lonnie Perry) could come by an hour earlier, since he was running ahead of schedule. That worked out fine for me. When he arrived, he introduced himself. I was working from home, so largely I had to just point him in the right direction and let him do his thing. After completing the water heater flush and inspection, he informed me that the pressure from my water heater was reading at 95psi. The ideal range is 40-60psi and the high reading on my water heater put my house at risk for leaks. He explained the function of the PRV (which should be regulating this pressure within the house), and suggested that it be replaced. In addition, he provided a quote for rebuilding my hose (if possible), or replacing it (if not possible). He also quoted a price for replacing the hoses for my washing machine - which they recommended doing every 5 years. I called my dad to get his thoughts on the repairs. The technicians offered to speak to him to answer any of his questions. And my dad advised me he could change the hoses next time he was over (which the technician agreed was the case and also agreed could wait). I appreciated his honesty about it. My dad did advise me to get the PRV replaced. Once all decisions were made about the services, Lonnie got to work. He kept me informed throughout the process (e.g. when he had to leave to pick up a part, since my original PRV was a larger version than typically used). And when he was done, he cleaned things up, reviewed the services/invoice, etc. Overall, I appreciated the fact that he tried to accommodate me taking conference calls, etc. I also appreciated the time that he spent explaining the issues/educating me on the problem and the solution.

I had a leak within the walls of my whirlpool tub. It was difficult to determine the damage/cause until they opened up the plumbing to determine the cause.

Our hot water heater gave up the ghost on a Saturday night, so we called multiple plumbers. We left a message with Majestic, and Lonnie called us back first thing in the morning Sunday. At that point, we already had an appointment scheduled with another plumbing company, but Lonnie still gave us tips and a general over-the-phone estimate and told us to call if it didn't work out or if we felt we weren't getting the information we needed from the other company. When the other company arrived, we felt its estimate was too high, so we called Lonnie back to get more details and to see if he could get out to the house that Sunday. As we talked over various water heater types, and found we had more questions, we called Lonnie back multiple times. He was very patient and answered all our questions. We finally decided on the type of water heater we wanted (we went with a basic 40 gallon since he could install that the same day--with the tankless it would have been the next day), and Lonnie told us he would be there within a few hours. He got the water heater in Sunday, and it cost $200 less than the other company's estimate. We also got $50 off by using the Angie's List coupon for 1st time customers. Also, there was no emergency fee for the weekend hours, and he cleared a drain for us for no charge (the other company said a simple drain clear would cost $93).

This is the best experience that I have had with a plumbing company. Lonnie Perry was on time, courteous, helpful and completed all of the repairs in record time!!! Not only did he fix the bathroom leak, he explained what the problem was, how he was going to fix it and how I could prevent or maintain in the future! Plus, I got a discounted rate on the additional items. I certainly will use again. After the stress of having the water leak, the service, cost to fix and helpfulness was a nice surprise! The company representative was very professional and very knowledgeable he inspected the garbage disposal determined it would need to be replaced and gave me all the information I requested. the company would not charge me for the visit if I didn't want the disposal replaced now and if I choose to buy the disposal from someone else there would still be no charge. that to me was incredible companies will charge you a small fortune just to provide an estimate. The prices his company was charging for the work that needed to be done was fair and the quality of the replacement was equally satisfying to me. I agreed for him to do the work and he did it than and there He was very professional and had a skill level that was very impressive. He completed the work without any complaints or problems and finished in a timely manner. I was very happy with the job done. He answered all of my ?'s and was very eager to make sure I was happy with the work done. He cleaned up and I was very pleased. I will definitely use this company again. I have had other experiences with plumbing companies which were very disheartening but this company was fantastic I give them an A + .

Dereck arrived on time and was very professional. We started upstairs and worked our way to the basement. He pointed out and explained everything that he found. Our house was built in the 70's and has had very little done to it. We have a long list of things to fix but will go with the most important ones first. I have set up an appt for next week to begin the work. Very pleased with them so far.

On Saturday morning Lowes delivered new appliances to my house, including a new refrigerator. When they hooked up the ice maker to the water connection valve thingy at the floor, water started shooting up the wall at the connection. The Lowes installers were able to stop the little geiser but then I was left with a fast steady drip. I have hardwoods in my kitchen and this was not a good situtation. The Lowes guys gave an it's-not-my-problem shrug and were off. I called several plumbers from Angie's List but nobody could come out on such short notice on the weekend. Then I got to the Majestic listing and I called and they were wonderful. The guy (Michael?) who answered the phone was great and he set me up and assured me that someone would be out at 2:00pm. He dispatched Joseph Hartline, who called and asked permission to come early, which of course was perfectly fine with me! He arrived and I was so happy to see him. He was very courteous and presentable and he put his little booties on to protect my floors and he got busy with my drip. He diagnosed and explained my issue in detail (I pretended to be interested because he was so intent but I really did not care...ha ha!) and then he did something and he FIXED it. He mentioned that I could get a new box thingy that would be a new and better and up-to-code way of getting water to the ice maker but he was not pushy at all and seemed more interested in educating me than upselling me. (Again, I pretended to be interested but I was just happy that the leaking had been stopped for good,) Everything is working perfectly now. As he was leaving he stopped to admire my fabulous Marathon water heater. Obviously Joseph is a man of good taste! I had a friend visiting and she said, "Wow. I wish I had known about him when I had plumbing problems last month. He was great." I totally agree! I will use Magestic from now on.

Great service technician reported to my home on a Sunday and shut off the water at the street service point, thus saving me a great deal of water. They came back on Monday morning and had to dig a trench in my front yard. They replaced the main service line, cleaned up, and let. Very efficient and the customer service was superb.

Outstanding. Shane arrived before 1pm. I had purchased a antisiphon sillcock from Home Depot and with the $50.00 new customer coupon. I was charged $125.00.Shane is professional and a very friendly and helpful man. He attached my hose after he completed the project and the labor is guaranteed for one year. Perfect. My bathroom was under construction, so they cut-out and capped my existing flange (pipe) and said "give us a call when we're ready to finish the job. There was no charge until the work was done. Beyond all expectations and courtesies.

He was very personable and very nice. He was polite and he seemed to know his business. He offered suggestions and was very capable. He responded right away and was right on time.

I found Majestic Plumbing via Angies List. I had a leak in a second story shower. The water spots were appearing in the ceiling below. The technician, Joseph Hartline, came as scheduled and was both professional and polite. Not being a very handy individual, I thought the drain in the shower was leaking. Within 2 minutes of looking at the shower, Joseph told me the grout near the bottom of the shower needed to be replaced. The drain as fine. At closer inspection I clearly saw the issue he was referencing. The grout was cracked and in some areas was not there. Of course Joseph is a plumber - not a grout man. He gave me the name of a company that could assist me if desired. He told me there would be no charge and gave me his business card. Instead of Joseph being annoyed with my misdiagnosis he remained professional and did his best not to laugh at me ;) Without a doubt, the next time I need a plumber I will be contacting Majestic.

I had purchased an Angie's List coupon and was going to schedule an inspection of my house. I had scheduled that with Michael and he and I hit it off on the phone. He receives 5-Stars for making a customer feel confident with a company. Early in morning my daughter-in-law called me and said she had a mess on her hands and was in a panic because she has two young children. And that two of the three toilets in the house were backed up and clogged. Remembering that I had such a great experience on the phone with Michael at Majestic, I told her a "white lie" that I had a "friend in the plumbing business". I even went out on a limb and told her that I would have this fixed in the same day! I was nervous but confident that Majestic and Michael would be there for me. After hanging up with her, I dialed up Michael to tell him the situation. He picked up the phone on the first ring, identified himself professionally, and the next words from him were, "no problem, what time do you want us there?". Music to my ears! Wes and Jacob showed up right on time! They advised me that they wanted to do a thorough review of the situation and would return to me with a plan of action. Wes encouraged me because he said he was confident he knew what to do. After checking out the situation Wes came back with a detailed explanation of his plan of action, and the options that were available to us. I liked that!!! Within a short period, the drains were cleared and the toilets were working beautifully. Wes, Jacob, and even me were heroes for the day!!! "Hat's off" to the professionals at Majestic Plumbing. They a #1 in my book, and in fact, they are the only plumbing company in my book because of Michael, Wes and Jacob!

See above. This is what service should be. Now, if Angie's List's web site were as responsive as Lonnie Perry, we'd all be happier!

I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" to have the plumbing checked in my 1940s era home. It had never been checked since my purchase of the home 2 years ago. Joseph, the company representative, arrived on time, listened to my concerns and checked my toilet (a foul smell was coming from it), my bathroom sink (it was not draining), my tub drain (which had been slow in the past) and the handles of the tub (one was not affixed properly and was leaking slightly). He also checked to see if the water in my upstairs toilet was turned off, since I do not use that bathroom. He fixed the toilet and sink, and also made sure my tub drain was clear so it wouldn't clog again. One of the handles of the tub was missing a part that is no longer made, so Joseph fixed the problem but said he couldn't warranty the work (due to the missing part) and did not charge me for this small job. He was friendly, pleasant and honest and explained everything he was going to do before he did it. In addition, he also inspected my gas hot water heater (I am thinking of having it replaced) and provided me with prices and brands for both gas and electric heaters. He also showed me where in my home each would fit best. I spent approximately $250 (including the price of the Big Deal). I would definitely recommend Joseph and his company.

Lonnie and James with Majestic Plumbing were on time and worked with knowledge, experience and efficiency. They have communications skills and kept me informed about what they were doing, and answered all my questions. I showed them what needed to be done and they resolved every issue with expertise. They were very neat and cleaned up what little was necessary. I guess they saw me walk around the corner of a rug because I noticed that they also avoided walking on the rug without my asking. When I asked them to drain the water heater (after 5 years) they noticed a leak, and replaced a wrong piece with the right piece. I was glad they caught that - the draining was done efficiently. While I was happy to have the small issues resolved so easily, I was especially pleased with their choice of shower head and arm, which made that 40 year old shower wall with faucets look brand new. I was also pleased with how easily they fixed the plumbing under the kitchen sink - it seemed to me like a big problem, but to them, it was nothing. I did not ask their charges, relying on reports others had made, and was very pleased with the final bill which was explained so I could understand. I definitely would call on Lonnie and James again if I have another problem, although probably all of the employees are capable too. I will definitely recommend Majestic Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing help.

Excellent. On time, thorough and efficient. It was important that I was satisfied. If leak in lower level bathroom starts again behind the wall I will be given the bill cost credit to go into wall to repair.

They were punctual and came out the same day I called. Started out with price quote of over $200 for fixing drip on faucet at outside of house. After $50 discount finally talked him down to $105 for fixing leak. When he started to leave, I asked him to see if he could stop my toilet from running after it flushes, he quoted me a price for that of over $200. The toilet only required replacing or adjusting the flushing mechanism. In any case, I think the price quote was too high. I fixed the toilet problem myself in a short period of time by looking at a video on youtube.

The experience with them was very good. In terms of price, we had a little misunderstanding to start with. I complained and they rectified it. They were going to charge me more than I thought I was supposed to be charged. But anyways, they rectified it and it was fine. I would use their services again in the future.

I received a water bill for a second month that was astronomical. I mean the first month was prorated in the amount of $115 and the second in the amount of $600. When I called to dispute I was told it was a leak some where in my home. Hearing the horror stories, I began to worry as I just had returned to my home that I had previously rented. My error was I called someone known to a former business partner. The plumber advised there were no leaks but that my flappers were in need to be replaced. He replaced them at a cost of $225. I submitted to City of Atlanta after to dispute the bill. It was being reviewed and then I noticed the toilets were running. I called back to the pumper who stated there was a warranty and would return again he replaced one of the flappers to say it was defective. I then received a new monthly bill that was $600. D****!!! I inquired to my neighbors what their numbers were and with full families of 5-6 the bills were $100 per month. I decided to inquire of the City of Atlanta to petition for a hearing on the issue. Yet, in the meantime, I decided I wouldn't wait for someone to tell me bad news I was going to find out before. My theory was I didn't want the City of Atlanta to say it was my fault still within the home. I decided to get on Angie's List. I went within each and went with Majestic. I called and spoke with Michael, I believe. Very professional and cordial. We spoke at length regarding my situation and he believed it was a leak as well. I started to worry. I didn't even use the water in the house. I checked into a hotel. I worried even more that the horror stories would ruin me. Getting back to the conversation, we talked over the different aspects of what was needed and was told about the discount of $50. I appreciated his desire to save me money but that was on the repair and found that the elements included in the big deal ($69) would also give me some knowledge of my home upon my return. He agreed. He set the appointment for the following day as I called in the late afternoon. The next day, the plumber arrived his name was Joseph. Showed me his ID and inquired to my requested work . I advised that I was told there was a leak somewhere and that the other plumber hadn't seen it. He proceeded straight to the meter...careful as well as a Black Widow was in the area. He removed the spider and began his inspection. The meter seemed to be in order. He left it open and proceeded in the house. He turned on the water and noticed the spurting and said it was sometimes air in the line. He inquired of some more things and then proceeded to every fixture throughout every room. He was thorough. To my dismay, he found that that the flapper that was used was substandard with only a 1 year warranty and the flappers used by Majestic had 5 year warranties! Whoa! Cool! He found that there were NO LEAKS!!! He wrote up the invoice to detail for me to provide it to the City of Atlanta. He then proceeded to the water heater. He inspected it and noticed that one valve was in need of repair. He had surmised that the issue I was experiencing in the home was due to the pressure valve as well. He flushed the system and demonstrated the need for why it should be done yearly. Very detailed. He continued and advised that he would order the part and return tomorrow. I took off from work...but no one called and no one showed. I received a call and was told they were setting an appointment for today at the end of the day---Wednesday! I explained I was told it would have been Wednesday. The young lady said she would call back. She did not. I believe Michael called back and set the appointment for Thursday. Joseph returned got right to work and replaced all the parts and demonstrated their placement. He even showed me the frayed flapper that I was told for $75 was new. BE careful out there! In the end, Joseph resolved the issued with professionalism and was courteous. Joseph and Michael...thank you....and thanks Majestic. Any situations I will call them first...not second.

I was called back immediately and able to make an appointment for the next day. The master plumber assigned, Lonnie Perry, actually showed up early and waited for me without complaint or question. His evaluation was thorough. A part was needed and he had offered to drive to their headquarters and back in order to fix the shower that day. Unfortunately, the exact part was not available and needed to be ordered. Lonnie called me within days to let me know it was in and came back the next day (again- prompt, professional, and courteous) to replace it. He was even mindful of taking extra care to not get my carpet dirty. My shower now works fine. There was never any hassle or consternation.
