Wow, Mike is spectacular. He replaced the decking with Trex (I'll never have to paint it again) and the posts are now poly (they won't rot ever). I have gotten loads of compliments and feel so much better about my home. Wonderful craftsmanship and service, excellent in all aspects!

He came for walk through and quote and seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. I asked for references and never heard from him again

We were remodeling our kitchen and needed a professional who could turn our vision into reality. Mike is an excellent carpenter who did just that! He turned low cost stock cabinets into a beautiful custom looking kitchen, converted a small half bath into a custom pantry and laid new hardwood flooring, Mike is a top notch professional who listens to what his customers want. I have delt with many workmen who tell me why something cannot be done, but not Mike - he will find a way to make it happen. Mike is also blessed with an abundance of patience- perfect for the homeowner who is overwhelmed with the many choices remodeling entails. We will absolutely use him again!

Working with Mike was great. I recently had a contractor bolt half way through finishing the basement and remodeling the kitchen. My trust of contractors is not very high. Mike is an exceptional craftsman, and it definitely shows in his work. He always showed up on time, gave good advice, was very easy to talk to, and has very high integrity. You definitely get what you pay for and the quality of his work and attention to detail is incredible. The contractor who bolted left a ton of debris in my backyard and even Mike offered to leave his trailer so I could fill it up and then took it to the dump for me. Mike is also a very hard worker. He doesn't lollygag around, while he was at our house he was always working. I would definitely hire Mike again and will be sure to recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

Mike Gervais did an outstanding job. He is very knowledgeable and highly skilled. He showed up as scheduled, he prepared a contract listing everything that would be done and the price. He thoroughly explained what needed to be done to repair the damage and to prevent it in the future. He was punctual, efficient, and very professional. We had to coordinate with other contractors and he was very accommodating. The cost was very close to his original estimate. This is a rental property and the work had to be coordinated with tenants as well. Mike took care to keep them informed of when he would be there and to answer their questions. He was great to work with and I will definitely use him again in the future.

My expectations were exceeded. I had a design/layout in mind and after discussion with mike, decided his idea of how to do it was better than mine. I cannot believe how well it turned out. It took a little longer than originally planned because I kept changing my mind on a few things, but Mike went with it and did a great job.

I hired Mike on the spot due to his price and his overall demeanor. Mike stayed in contact with me throughout the project and arrived and left at the times he said he would. He cleaned up everyday and provided me progress reports throughout the job. The job ran a little bit over the $1k quote, but as with all rot repair, you see more rot once you get up on the ladder than was in the original quote. Mike was very up front about the cost overruns and offered suggestions to avoid as much expense as possible. I admit I dont know much about carpentry, but all the repairs look to be correct and my window is no longer leaking. He used all rot resistant materials in his repairs. Mike is a VERY honest individual and I would not hesitate to hire him again. Once you see the graphic on his business cards or website and his slogan, you will fully understand why his business is named Crossworks and you will understand the man behind it all.

We discovered some minor water damage to our house, and wanted to address it before we had serious damage. We were referred to Mike Gervais by his brother, Gary Gervais Talbot, who had worked on our house a few years ago. Mike was punctual and worked quickly and efficiently. He did a great job answering questions, replacing and repairing, and was a pleasure to work with. He discovered the source of our problem and eliminated the leak. He then repaired amd replaced some damaged trim on doors and windows and molding. We also had him install a new doorlock and doorbell. I had a couple of 'what about this' concerns; Mike patiently looked at them, then explained why were not issues instead of doing unneccesary repairs. Very refreshing to work with such an honest craftsman. And he cleaned up every speck of debris amd left an immaculate worksite!!! Will definitely contact Mike next time we need work done on our house, and recommend him without reservation.

Mike arrived promptly at the scheduled time for both the estimate visit and the actual work days. For the first project, Mike made a beautiful, custom threshold for the sliding glass door out of a 1 x 6 maple board which he specifically sought out at the lumber yard to coordinate with the existing flooring. The second project which was to replace some rotted wood on the front porch overhang proved to be more extensive as the rot penetrated several layers of lumber and was infested with ants which needed to be exterminated prior to any further work commencing. Not wasting any time, while the exterminator was doing his thing, Mike moved onto working another smaller project on the list. Mike proved to be very competent and highly skilled in rebuilding the structure which took another full day and then on for another couple of hours the next day to allow for painting. Mike was extremely organized, neat and cognizant of the sawdust which he swept away before entering the house. On the last day of painting he also cleaned the vinyl siding that was dirtied in the work process. All in all, he did a fantastic job with all the projects he was handed. I will be sure to call on Mike for any future carpentry work needed.

Mike gave a thorough explanation of what he was going to do and did it. On time every day, worked quickly and efficiently. Work site was immaculate at end of day until project was complete. Very impressed with final product.

We had Mike do several separate projects, in two different buildings, over the course of a year and half (approx). After the first project, we just kept calling him back. The projects were difficulty, in that the property is older and nothing is level or straight. He was professional, on time, on budget, flexible and very pleasant. I remember one day during a multiple day project he called us to say that he had an unexpected conflict. We thought that was courteous (we've had folks simply not show up before). But that was not all...he told us that a colleague was on his way to continue the work for him for that day (I think it was drywall) so that the projet did not get behind. Mike is polite, thorough, and knowledgeable. He talked us through the projects beforehand and answered all of our questions. I heard about him from a colleague at work (before I joined Angie's list) and what a great referral.
