+ 0 moreWe had a good experience so far. We only part way through the project. We did it broke it up and say this. That is great. The feature is the bigger stuff is going to happen in the spring, so, we have not got into a place where I do not like, ready to say we are done, kind of thing, something like that. Probably would it be come to count them more unless we get to this next phase but so far, it has been good. It was mid-December. We had a $500 plan put together, landscape plan, and then we have a $2500 for some trees installed and minor controls and other replacement but had no seal about the trees. I am not going to say that they are not cheap, for sure, but I would say, a call over to be on price.
Description of Work: We used CEL Cutting Edge Landscape for tree service and landscaping services. We just have them install some stuff. They did a plan for us and did install some very preliminary phase I stuff.

+ -1 moreI was very impressed that I received a very quick reply call to discuss my request for a quote. A few possible options were quickly and clearly explained. I was also told that the company charges for a minimum size job, which I could tell would be greater than the size of my job. That allowed both of us to quickly realize the company would not be a good fit for the job, but I would certainly consider using CEL in the future given the prompt, courteous and professional handling of my inquiry.
Description of Work: I called to request a quote for some landscaping work in my back yard. I received a very prompt reply call.

+ -1 moreUpfront, we have a bank and we have a wall. It would be the wall in the front yard that holds the landscaping. The bid was high, I thought. That was one of the reasons why we wanted to compare it with something else. They were very nice and very professional. They had ideas on the top of their head. He had ideas right away. He could tell us exactly what he was going to do. He sounded like he will really do a good job. It was a great experience of him getting out.

+ -1 moreIt went great. He arrive at 7am and started working on our islands in the neighborhood and about 1 hr later his crew arrived and with plants and trees to plant and they got the job done. I was impressed with the job they did and the fee they charged. They worked with to get the job done especially because our HOA had low funds.

+ 0 moreThey gave us an estimate within 24 hrs of us giving them a call; so they were very responsive. The quote was over $13000. They didn’t get the job and we have already had the work completed. We received estimates from Cutting Edge as well as another company whose number we got from Angie's List. We thought that the quote given by Cutting Edge was too high for the options that they offered when we compared all 3 estimates. They gave us options of a concrete sidewalk versus a paver sidewalk.
Description of Work: CEL Cutting Edge Landscape came out and gave us an estimate on landscaping as in sowing in seeds, installing sod and a paver sidewalk.

+ -1 more.OK. Did a pre-site visit. 2-person crew spent about 3/4 day performing work. DId not complete work to my satisfaction that day. There were still roots from the juniper in the bed. The owner did come out to inspect the work, did take out remaining roots, and gave me a discount on the work performed. The interface from his Quickbooks to my e-mail for estimates and billing was excellent.
Description of Work: Removed front juniper bed. Cleaned out shrub beds on each side of walkway. Removed crawling vines from side ground area and side of house. Covered all work with pine straw. Needed backhoe to clear our juniper bed.

He had great ideas that helped us to save money while getting just what we wanted. He and his crew showed up when they said they would, and completed the job in the time frame promised. When they were done, they cleaned up the site too! We were very happy with CEL and would gladly recommend them to others. Great Job!
Description of Work: The work done included cutting trenches for drainage, adding fill dirt, bobcat work to spread and shape the area, and adding top soil so we could plant new seed.

+ 1 moreOverall, Tim and CEL did a great job. The project was thoroughly scoped out on the front-end, delivered within budget and on time. After an initial meeting with Tim to discuss the project, Tim put together plans that addressed our specific priorities for the project and also made several suggestions to optimize the plan. Once the plans were complete, Tim provided an upfront estimate. While the project was underway, we adjusted several elements of the plan and Tim was able to make suggestions and develop accurate cost estimates. Tim was very punctual and was very reachable during the project to discuss and provide ideas. Once work was underway, the project took about 3 weeks to complete. Tim made sure that we were 100% satisfied with the project and we are thrilled with our new backyard.
Description of Work: Start to finish landscaping of backyard:- Tim and CEL developed full landscaping plans for front and back yards - We decided to focus on the backyard for now. Work included:- Significant clean-up and grading of wooded area in backyard to increase usable, grassed area for family to use- Built stacked stone retaining / decorative wall to separate back portion of the backyard- Took out old wooden deck and replaced deck with larger paver patio- Installed large garden area, flagstone path and plants behind retaining wall - Installed lighting in wall, around flagstone path and uplighting on under trees- Extended the irrigation system to cover the new area- Re-sodded the backyard Overall, the project significantly transformed the backyard and created larger play area and larger patio to make the backyard more usable.

Description of Work: I contacted CEL Landscaping because I had several dead bushes and a large tree that needed replaced. I decided to spruce up my untidy front lawn and asked Tim to give me an estimate. He returned my call for an estimate that day. We set up a time the following week and met. I received the estimate by email within 3 days outlining every thing we had discussed. Once I approved the estimate, Tim told me it would be approximately a week before he could get started and as he said that was exactly the time, 1 week. They finished in a day. He pulled out several dead bushes and one large tree, and replaced with ornamental grass, hydrangeas, and several gardenia bushes. Many more beautiful items were installed. Everything was cleaned up and I absolutely love the new ideas of plants that Tim designed for my front lawn. He also replaced about 4 of my irrigation heads that were broken off from the landscaping company that does the maintenance for our association (not CEL). He also met me back out at my home to help me with my irrigation set up as to keep things watered regularly until established. He was very helpful. I will be using him in the near future to design my backyard landscaping.

Description of Work: We needed to have our front yard resodded. CEL did a fantastic job! Tim Bland was very professional, prompt, and reliable. We were totally at ease with this company and Mr. Bland. Everything went without incident, and our lawn looks fabulous. We would highly recommend Cutting Edge Landscaping for any landscaping issues.

+ 4 moreThe entire experience was awesome. I started calling for quotes in February. Tim called me back almost immediately and set an appointment to come out. When he came out, he told me the work we wanted done couldn't be done until April/May depending on how the rest of the winter and spring went. He explained that the ground had to be a certain temperature before he could lay the sod. Making sure the job was done correctly was his foremost concern. When the weather was finally ready, the work was completed in the timeframe he originally told me. He did not go over budget. The quality of the work was superb. We had neighbors coming to look at our backyard all weekend! We could not be happier with how it turned out. There was not one scrap of clean-up that we had to do. He took care of everything. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for quality landscapping. We will be re-doing our front yard next year, and we will definitely be using Tim and CEL.
Description of Work: We had our backyard replaced with sod. We had dirt delivered and the yard graded as well as one of our flower beds built out with a cobblestone border. We had rocks added to a couple different areas in the yard, and we had to have the entire back yard sprayed to kill all weeds before the sod was laid.

From the point of the estimate to the completion of the project he was punctual, very friendly and provided detailed explanations of solutions to my drainage problems and ways to make my backyard beautiful. The project was completed very quickly and Tim's crews were great to have onsite. They worked hard never left a mess. Tim explained what was going on throughout the project and made sure I was happy with the progress. I am extremely pleased with how the project turned out and I would highly recommend Tim and CEL.

He made some good suggestions. Overall the price was much higher than we wanted to spend. He was $2000 over the lowest competitor's price and $300 over the mid-range estimate. We got a price for Emerald Zoisia and partial Bermuda. He sent us an email two days after he was here with written estimates for the work. I did not get a follow up call to see what we decided to do.

+ 11 moreWe are very pleased and satisfied with the services provided by CEL. Tim was very professional and easy to work with. He provided very good ideas and incorporated all of our feedback in the overall design. Tim was very flexible and timely in meeting with us throughout the project. He was very hands on and on-site daily to supervise the project. Their prices were not the cheapest, but neither were they the most expensive. It was well worth it given the quality of their work and attention to detail. For a project of this scale, we were afraid of dealing with difficult contractors, but Tim and his crew exceeded our expectations.

We selected CEL because of the ratings on Angie's List and because when Tim Bland came out, he clearly knew the names of all of the trees, grasses and shrubs, which made us comfortable. (My husband has an agricultural background and knows his stuff.) We're doing work in two phases. 1st- the clean up. 10 years of overgrowth on almost an acre. The crew worked very hard, went above and beyond. They were understanding and flexible about a few of the "in progress" changes we made. In the spring, we'll start phase 2- the design and planting of that design. Our experience with CEL exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Lot- almost an acre- over grown for 10 years. Removal of underbrush and unhealthy and dead trees, transplanting salvagable trees, trimming of shrubs, sodding. Removing an old pond, and then the Japanese Maple planted right up against the dining room windows. Removing boulders from beds. They even mowed.

+ 0 moreThey were late to get started due to another job that ran over and communication with us was poor - they just didn't show up. Matt (who was leading our job) did eventually call and apologize. They then came out and did a very nice job. We had a few additional communication issues along the way where we discussed minor changes (e.g., placing mulch in certain areas in lieu of sod) and then remembered them differently, which was a little frustrating. However, in the end, Tim (the owner) stepped up and made the changes per our request such that we are very happy with the end product. Matt also accommodated other minor requests we had and came up with several helpful ideas along the way that improved the overall result significantly.
Description of Work: They removed several large trees (via a sub-contracted tree service), re-graded the backyard and laid sod and mulch.
