It was fine. It was a good job. They have a project manager, landscape architect that really figured out what we needed and stayed within the budget and listened to us really well, pretty much gave us what we're looking for and gave us good suggestions, stuff that we didn't even know about. They didn't do anything that is trying to add on cost. They weren't trying to sell us anything we didn't want. They gave us exactly what we were looking for. They were really good at diagnosing what we needed.

We recently moved to a new home, and the prior owners had let all of the shrubs overtake the house. While this is something I could normally do myself, there sheer magnitude of the work to be done coupled with the amount of debris it would generate really meant we needed professionals. I search Angie's List and reached out to a few companies. C&M was the first to talk to me (others were too busy). C&M had someone come over and look at the work to be performed and scope the work. I was then able to review their proposal and agree to a time and date to have the work performed. The crew showed up as planned. They were courteous, clean, efficient, and respectful. The crew of four spent about three hours pruning shrubs and cleaning debris. I was very impressed with how nice everything looked when they were done, I could finally see out of one window that had been previously blocked by an overgrown camellia. I found a missing hose spigot that had been buried beneath a boxwood. Finally, when we open our breakfast room window, we no longer get attached by plants. I am now able to walk BETWEEN the shrubs and the house, and I no longer worry about the shrubs causing damage by trapping moisture or allowing pests to get in. The crew cleaned up the entire area when they were done and even took away branches I had trimmed over the weekend. I was very impressed with their work ethic and would not hesitate to use C&M Residential again.

The process with C&M was great from start to finish. It started with a call to the office where I spoke to Carl. I explained what we were looking for and Carl was very helpful in getting the visit for the estimate set up. There was a charge for the estimate, but it was very reasonable (given the time required to prepare the estimate) and was applied to the cost of our repairs if we chose C&M. The next step was the site visit with Brendon. Brendon was exceptional. He alleviated many of the concerns that had sprung up in my mind after talking to other providers. The others were all driving me toward a complete tear down of our deck. Brendon pointed out what was good with the deck and did not try to sell me things I did not need. They put together a good quote and I felt very good about their knowledge and experience when it came to building and repairing decks. We decided to go with C&M for our project. The next step was the actual field work where Pete was the leader of our crew. Pete did a great job and was very helpful in answering questions we had throughout the construction project. After the work was done, Pete followed up up with any issues we had promptly. After the work was done, my wife and I were both very happy with how it turned out. All throughout the process, Michael Staley stayed in touch with me via e-mail as well as paying visits to the site as needed. He informed me of surprises that arose (there are always surprises). Despite the discoveries that we had during the process, the work was done within a couple percent of the original estimate. Overall, I was very satisfied with C&M every step of the way and would highly recommend them to anyone.

The front yard does not have any grass; it instead has red rubber mulch. This makes removal of leaves more difficult. C&M removed leaves without any damage to the mulch. Great job. Based on work, I have signed a full year contract for lawn maintenance.

I originally requested quotes from several companies for work to include general yard debris clean-up and bush/shrub trimming for a new residence that I purchased. C & M Residential had the lowest bid by far (warning # 1). The service proposal included pruning plant material, removal of vines, spray for weeds, prune plans, and debris disposal. The company scheduled the crew on 8/12/13 to perform the work on 8/19/13. I received an email at 1pm on 8/19/13 stating that they were running behind and would not be able to perform the work on 8/19/13. So much for taking the day off from work. The crew rescheduled and performed the work on 8/21/13. The general debris clean up was average but I was very disappointed in how they pruned one of the larger bushes. They also did not remove the vines but only trimmed them below the bushes to where you could not see them. The vines grew back in 2 weeks to being clearly visible. The company returned to the property after 3 phone calls and 2 emails. The plant still looks awful and was not trimmed evenly. They did remove most of the vines however there are still plenty still visible. I would not recommend this company again even based on the cost savings.

It went fine. We worked with them before and we've been very happy. The employees have been very efficient. They have been very helpful and creative in trying to solve some of the land issues that we have around our house. They were on time. It worked out well. They quoted me for a total of $10000. Their professionalism, service and clean-up have all been excellent.

I ended up not going with them either time because of how high they were as compared to the rest of the market. Of the multiple quotes each time they were thousands higher than the rest of companies I ended up going with for the same amount of work. They were friendly and helpful, but were way over priced compared to everyone else. If you have extra money to blow i am sure they do good work, but value for dollar simply isn't here with them.

EVERYTHING was perfect from the very beginning! Denise was a delight to work with and very frank about what would be best for our problem areas but never pressured us to choose any particular solution. Her planning was very thorough and we ended up going a bit beyond our initial budget because it made such good sense. The work schedule was 100% on time and the gentlemen who did the work were very professional. The entire project was complete in a matter of days and our yard looks better than new! We would use them again and would definitely recommend them!

We called the company for a quote on building a stone wall in our back yard, to replace a decaying tie wall. Brendan Smith came out within a few days to provide us with a quote. We showed him what we needed and he provided us with detailed information on the options. We decided on a 42-foot stack stone wall. Brendan explained in detail what work would be done. We then asked about some additional landscaping for a somewhat steep sloping area in our front yard. Brendan suggested using ground cover, which we decided would work. A contract was provided promptly the next day and the work was scheduled to begin within 3 weeks. We received notice after 2 weeks, that the work could begin on Monday 4/22. The workers (Abel and crew) came out as scheduled and on time and worked very hard. We especially appreciated that they cleaned up everything after pulling lots of ivy and old tie wall. They came back the next day to add straw mulch. The next day they worked on the sloping area in the front yard, putting in 54 plants and pine straw. Everyone we talked with at C&M was professional and courteous. They did what they said they would on schedule. We would hire them again for any future work.

Overall I am pleased with the work C&M Residential Services provided. Due to the time of the year (spring) there were some challenges with establishing the fescue lawn (i.e. seed did not germinate) which left me with a very sparse lawn for several months. However, C&M returned in the fall and re-tilled and re-seeded the lawn AT NO CHARGE. The results were much better the second time around and my lawn looks great now. A truly great company is one that goes the extra mile to ensure the satisfaction of its customers and C&M did just that on my project. I would recommend C&M for this type of project.

Denise designed my front yard prof finally&beautifully.i wanted my front yard to look different from my neighbors ,low maintenance and suitable to the low windows .she is the one who suggested low shrubs so my windows will not be covered ! she picked shrubs and flowers .that blooms and stays green year around. she's really smart and easy to work with

They were wonderful. Jason handled the design elements, and the project was overseen by both he and Michael. Lead man on site was Tony - so easy to work with. Absolutely no complaints about anyone. We are beyond thrilled with both projects and would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone. Our experience could not have been better - they were professionals in every sense of the word. We think of them very time we drive up to the front of the house - and every time we walk out the back door - and always with gratitude for making the surrounds of our home so beautiful.

From the time we initially called the company, to the appraisal, to the workers, they were phenomenal. They used a Caterpillar tractor and needed to dissemble the fence but put everything back like it was. They explained everything and told us if the work they did didn't work, there would be no cost to us. They gave guarantee on their work. The job they did was great!

They’ve been very dependable and have been good to work with overall! Their pricing isn’t the least expensive, but I definitely get what I pay for; their quality of the work is excellent. I’ve been a customer of theirs for about 7 years!

We never ended up using their services, but the experience was excellent overall. I kept trying to get their price lower, and they kept working with me on it, which was surprising. The work was a little out of my price range; otherwise I would’ve gone with them!

From beginning to end, everyone was professional and easy!

After reading an article in our HOA newsletter about old, rotting cross tie walls, I contacted the author, Brendan Smith, to talk about removing ours. I liked him immediately and ended up having him draw up a full landscape plan for our yard (for a fee). I was up front with him that this would be a long term project due to the costs involved, but he didn't seem off put or disinterested at all. He still treated us with great customer services and even pointed out how we might break our plan into phases and complete some of the work ourselves to save money. That was in spring of 2011. In March of 2012, we decided to do the first part of our plan. Brendan had our design for reference and we updated/signed the contract. We then moved into the "project manager" group at C&M. My only negative comment about the whole project was that I signed the contract and sent a check and then waited over a week to hear from them (to be fair, spring is obviously their busiest time of the year). When I finally called to check to be sure they received it, I spoke briefly with Carl Staley who was actually pretty rude to me asking me why I was calling and brushing me off with the comment that "Michael (the scheduler) will be in touch with you so just chill out" (I'm paraphrasing). That was my only interaction with C&M that was less then positive. Everyone else was awesome. So we waited a little more and then got a message about 4:00 pm Monday May 7 saying that work was starting in the morning. We were surprised but it wasn't any big deal since we didn't need to be home or anything. The project itself was amazing. Brendan and the crew arrived right on time that morning. He went over all the instructions with them. The crew was fast, efficient, super polite, they cleaned up their areas every day. I can't say enough good things about them. The design came to reality just beautifully. Brendan's suggestions on how to curve our walkway was just great - he's got really good aesthetic ideas. I've had so many neighbors tell me how great our new yard looks. We are absolutely going to have C&M handle the next phases of our plan and will probably have them do our new back deck as budgets permit.

Some of the work they did was ok - the new retaining walls and walkway are nice, although the stones in the retaining walls are rather large. Not exactly what I expected, as this was described in C&M's landscape plan and invoices as "stone art". They do look much better than the old rr tie walls, but they are not "artistic". With respect to the sprinkler system, it has way too many sprinkler heads/stations for my yard. And several of them are in inappropriate locations. e.g. One waters my air conditioner. There is nothing that needs to be watered in that area since it is mostly just a "pine straw' area. Another waters my mailbox (no explanation for that one). Another is so close to my garage that, with any breeze at all, the sprinkler mostly waters the siding on the garage. If I had it to do over again, I would not have them install the system. I also must mention the pine straw. I have never seen so much pine straw in one place. It was (and still is) everywhere - and I really do not like pine straw. The crew kept pushing fill dirt up against my siding alongside the walkway. I removed it more than once and they kept moving it back. Finally waited until C&M was done and got my siding contractors to remove the fill dirt (which they did with no charge). Overall, I was very disappointed with this project. I had used this company several years ago and had a totally different experience. I do not plan on using them again.

The work was fine and the price list was good. They had a detailed price list for me. I might hire them again for another service in the future.

They have had some staff changes and the service has improved. The work is good.

They did a very good job. My yard still looks good. They did everything that was planned and did not take any shortcuts. They even offered post planting maintenance services. I did not need that because I do that work myself.
