Work was not done.
Description of Work: Responded quickly to my initial inquiry about the health of my 50 year old cedar tree. He came out for a consultation and we agreed on a plan. He emailed the work order to me, I signed and returned it. But, he hasn't followed up with me. I assume he got busy with other work.

Atlanta Arbor did an excellent job. They removed two large pine trees, ground 4 tree stumps and removed ivy from approximately 20 trees. The service was reasonably and competitively priced. Also, they did an immaculate job. You would not believe after seeing the property that they had taken down 2 large trees. They cleaned up everything and the yard looked great, in addition there was no harm the house (both trees were close to the house). I would highly recommend their work and would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: 1. Cut down One 24" pine in front 2. Cut down One 26" pine in back 3. Removed Ivy off 12 trees in front and 5-8 trees on L of home, and one single pine tree dead center of back yard. 4. Grinded 2 tree stumps plus 2 additional stumps

They did an excellent job, from the initial quote to the actual job completion. I met with 3 companies, and Atlanta Arbor's quote was competitive for the amount of work I wanted done. I had to reschedule my job twice, due to circumstances beyond my control. The office staff was friendly, and professional about my schedule changes. The crew showed up early on the day of the tree removal, and I even got a phone call mid day to update me on the progress that had been made. My property looks great, but equally as important, the integrity and communication of this company's staff was great. I would use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: I had some dead trees removed, a canopy lift, and some limbs removed. They also cleared some brush.

Everything went great, from beginning to end. My yard is very steep and the pine tree was way down near the bottom. They cut the tree down with precision and hauled it away. Same for all the other trees and hedges. All the debris was removed and the work site was cleaned up nicely. They even removed and extra 4 ft hedge without charging us! Great service, great attitude. Would definitely do business with them again. Only minor exception, is one of the guys "asked" for a tip. I wasn't here at the time of the work, so my wife felt a bit awkward when the employee did this. He wasn't overly pushy and his comment was more "implied" than outright asking for a tip, but still, poor form.
Description of Work: Trimmed several large trees with very high branches hanging over the house. Removed several hedges. Removed a very large pine tree.

Thank you for taking the time to review Atlanta Arbor! We truly appreciate your business and your trust in us to take care of your tree care needs. I am very glad that you had a pleasant experience with us in your tree trimming and removal process and that you found our crew to be contentious and efficient while working at your property. I apologize for any inadvertent or implied request for a tip. That is not something that we ever expect from our crew members nor something that we ever expect our customers to provide. This is an issue that will definitely be addressed as we pride ourselves on professionalism and integrity, and this is not something shows much of either of those characteristics. I am very glad that this minor hiccup will not deter you from calling Atlanta Arbor your Tree Care Specialist in the future.

We were so impressed with Atlanta Arbor. We had storm damage in the back yard....four very large trees snapped in half. They came out (on time) and cleaned everything. Since we didn't want heavy equipment on our back yard grass, they hand carried it all to the chipper in the driveway. One of the trees had fallen in a position that I had no idea how they would ever get it down without crushing a lot of our landscape. But they pulled it off....and how they did was absolutely amazing. Real pros. I watched it and still don't know how they dropped it perfectly, right where they wanted it. They also carried away all the dead trees and debris that had fallen over the years from the back yard. It is now 'spotless'. We gave each of the team members a bonus after the job. That's how pleased we were. We would not have anyone else out here to do tree work.

I very rarely feel compelled to write a review. This time I will make an exception because tree removal is a surprisingly complicated yet infrequent project and Atlanta Arbor was a perfect solution! I needed to remove 8 huge Leyland Cypress trees that were in close proximity to my house and my next door neighbor's house. Why the builders chose that species when the homes went up, I will never know. The last thing that I wanted to do was damage my property or my neighbor's when these formidable trees came down. Atlanta Arbor was absolutely surgical with their execution of the task. It was amazing to watch! The HOA in my community is fairly strict about tree removal. So, cleanup and neighborhood disruption were real priorities. Once again, Atlanta Arbor was more than up to the task. The experienced crew that they sent was appropriately sized, had all the equipment they needed and arrived at exactly the scheduled date and time. They were on site at 8AM and by 12PM the job was done and not a single spec of debris was anywhere to be found. Having sales people in your home can sometimes be uncomfortable. The sales guy from Atlanta Arbor was certainly the exception to that rule! Josh was very personable, knowledgeable, listened carefully to our requirements and presented a full and clear quote for the job. And it sure didn't hurt that the price was significantly less than other quotes that we had received! So, that's it... I whole heartedly recommend Atlanta Arbor Tree Care Specialist if you need tree removal. You will be doing yourself a favor! Charlene & Dave Towne Lake

The good: Josh was very responsive; company uses Ed Macie who seems to be one of the only risk certified arborists around. The bad: I had to pay $95 for an arborist inspection that really only covered one tree when I needed at least two removed and had to deal with the City of Decatur's new tree ordinance because Josh forgot about it. I also had several other arborists tell me that if I removed one tree I would need to take another down because it would ultimately become a high risk tree - if I had used Atlanta Arbor I might have been left with a high risk tree standing and not have known it. As I did my research and got additional quotes, Josh kept calling. Sometimes not leaving a message. Once I had a missed call at 4a. I began to feel uncomfortable and pressured. Ultimately after talking enough Josh slipped up and told me they had once cracked a driveway and fixed it "even though they didn't want to" -- which wasn't what I wanted to hear. He also spoke poorly of Northside - a top 4 on Angie's List for tree removal -- in a way I found unprofessional and off putting - no other company did that. When I wrote an email to Josh and explained that I felt more comfortable with Northside, he wrote back accusing me of not having comparable quotes and basically being cheap. Again, unprofessional. The job was removal of a giant three stemmed sweet gum, pine, and two smaller sweet gums - also trimming a small oak. All between two houses on an intown lot with bad access to the removal area. I went with Northside and am happy. They have been around a long time, have huge crews, and really care about their company's reputation. They also have a way higher volume of crane jobs - to me more experience is better. I've realized now that I meant to call another tree company with a similar name to Atlanta Arbor. Glad I took my time to make the decision and got four quotes. Atlanta Arbor's quote was 8615.00 - highest of three companies that wanted to put the crane on the driveway.

Response from Atlanta Arbor Tree Care Specialist
[Member name removed], Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review of your experience with Josh Bohannon and Atlanta Arbor Tree Care Specialist. It seems as though there were some major communication issues throughout the estimation process with your project, though that should never fall back on the customer and the customer should never be left feeling uncomfortable or pressured. Atlanta Arbor has been very diligent in going the extra mile for our customers to ensure satisfaction with each job, whether it is a trimming, planting, a technical removal, an emergency removal, or any combination of these services. In this industry, there will always be the possibility of damage, but we try to mitigate that risk as much as possible by holding safety meetings twice a week, and emphasizing careful work over speedy carelessness with our crew. In the few instances where there have been issues of minor fence damage, plant life damage, etc., we are able to take care of that on the spot before we even leave the job site (or at least on the same day). Unfortunately, in the 10 months that we have been open, we have had 3 minor driveway issues, two of which were due to the driveway being faulty – not being poured to the proper standards and having a sinkhole beneath it – and the other was due to the grapple of the bobcat just catching the very edge of the driveway when picking up a log. In each instance, however, we repaired the driveways because we wanted to ensure the happiness and satisfaction of our customers. Each municipality has its own rules and regulations as it relates to tree removal. Some will let you take down as many trees as you would like without any permitting, any arborist consultation, or any oversight whatsoever. There are others, however, that will require you to get a permit for every single tree that you wish to remove, and every time a plan changes regarding the removal process, a new report must be submitted. I believe this has been a great learning experience for all involved. Communication is a continual learning process and we are relentlessly working with the sales and office staff about how to work with customers so that the issues that you felt were uncomfortable or unprofessional do not come up again. We are also coaching them on proper techniques to relay knowledge and information so that customers are comfortable and don’t necessarily feel completely smothered or overloaded by an information dump. I am very happy that you are happy with your choice and with your services because at the end of the day, the goal is to impart knowledge at the time of meeting the customer and allowing him/her to make an informed decision about his/her most valuable asset. You have to feel comfortable about the tree removal process on your property because of the potential risk that is involved. I hope that I was able to at least provide you with a better understanding of what Josh tried to communicate to you regarding some of the issues that you had. Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns regarding this situation or any other tree care needs.

Atlanta Arbor was a relief to work with. They had their work cut out for them because we live on a busy street, and had two very large oak trees (one was 22 feet around) that were in between cable and power lines in a tiny lawn. They did all of this without a crane. They just had someone climb the tree, secure branch with a rope and cut the branch. When it would swing down, they had men on the ground to catch the branch so it didn't damage our yard. I didn't get to stay home during the whole job but this is what I saw & I felt comfortable leaving them to finish the job while I was away. When I returned, nothing was left but two stumps and I was told their stump grinding company (a third party) would be there in a few days. The stump grinder came and we were able o keep the mulch to use in our yard (just in case anyone was wondering how that works.) Before we had decided on Atlanta Arbor, We had dealt with a few other companies while gathering quotes and none were as professional, prompt and also provided stump grinding---except Atlanta Arbor. Our large oak trees were deemed to be deteriorating by and independent arborist so we started getting quotes. We were confused, worried and nervous about anyone removing these large trees in our tiny lawn. The trees were taller than our two story home and we were quoted everything from $5k to 10k. Atlanta Arbor was the only company that provided all inclusive pricing, that included obtaining permits, calling GA Power for turn off power lines if needed, and stump grinding. We talked to Tim and Josh when they first evaluated the trees. They were honest and seemed knowledgable so we went with them. We would definitely recommend Atlanta Arbor and might end up using them again on some other trees.

Description of Work: Josh and his team provided an extremely competitive price and arranged their schedules to accommodate our tight timeframe given a pending landscaping project. They we're prompt, professional, clean and safe. One of our trees was a 100year old oak with very little room to work with. They did an excellent job and far exceeded the expectations of our family and neighbors. I will not use any other service going forward hands down. Thank you Josh and crew!

After moving into a new home, one of the last things you really want to worry about is poor quality tree removal services that leave you with unexpected costs and headaches. Luckily, we were fortunate to use Atlanta Arbor and bypassed all the nightmare stories that we've heard from friends. Atlanta Arbor did such a great job trimming unsightly branches as well as removing a a sad dead tree to open up the yard a bit more for some needed sunlight. I would recommend Josh and his team in a heartbeat. They were all easy to work with and so helpful, especially since I was so timid to even think about using a tree service in the first place.

Everything went great. Josh and team were professional and communicated well not only on the day of the job but also leading up to the job. They completed the job as expected and cleaned up as well. I received estimates from 3 other providers and this was the lowest price. They were also the only ones who said they could grind out the large tree stump and did! I highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.
