Description of Work: Art Stone recently installed my Black Pearl leathered granite for my kitchen . The staff was knowledgeable and answered all my questions promptly. I was amazed at how easy they were to work with. Malinda gave great ideas and went above and beyond the call . I loved how each staff member introduced themselves and how pleasant the showroom environment is. Two thumbs up.

I wish I had checked with the BBB before doing business with them, I would have then saw that they had an F grade and would have steered clear. They were nice when I first went in and if they had not made a mistake in cutting our very simple rectangular bath vanity top, I might have given them a good score. However, even though we measured exactly like they told us and sent them pictures of the vanity and measurements before they cut the piece, when we picked it up and took it home, it was cut too short. They tried to blame us, saying we measured wrong, so we agreed to let their guy come out to measure. He came out and admitted he got the same measurements as we did. Even after that, we still got the run around and they were still saying it was our fault because our measurements were wrong. 3 months after they charged me for the job and after a lot of un-returned phone calls, they finally decide to make it right after I put a negative review on another review site (the owner called within an hour of that review being posted). However, even then, it seemed as if they were only doing it so I would change my review and not because they felt any responsibility towards me as their customer. And when we asked if it would be possible to get a discount for all the trouble and inconvenience we went through, the owner actually yelled and said how dare we ask for a discount. The whole experience was horrible. However, I am glad that I found out what kind of company they are with this small order before I gave them my business for my kitchen countertops. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Art Stone and am currently looking for another company to do our kitchen.

We initially contacted Art Stone for another project, but the plans changed and we decided to go in another direction. But when we decided to remodel the hall bath, I knew I wanted Art Stone to do the countertop with granite. I sent them an email explaining what had happened with the initial project, but let them know I wanted them for a smaller project. We had originally worked with Jennifer, and let her know the update. She said as soon as the vanity was in, to let them know and they would come out and measure. We had the vanity measured on Thursday, and we went in to pick out our slab, and sign the contract. On Monday morning, our new granite counter top was installed. We also purchased an undermount sink, which they easily installed. We still plan on remodeling another vanity area, and will definitely use them.

Staff was very helpful, generous with sample from actual slab to take home and evaluate in my space. Work was completed, delivered and installed as promised even on a Saturday. Workers did not make a mess installing the countertops and cleaned up after themselves.Very satisfied with both product and service.

We originally contacted this company end of April/beginning of May 2011. I was hesitant at first to contact them because I had read mixed reviews online. I was honest with Jennifer (the sales rep at the Smyrna location) and told her of my hesitations. I also told her that I planned to get more than one estimate. She assured me of their quality and service being the best, so I thought I'd give them a try. At the first phone call, Jennifer (the sales rep) seemed very responsive and even gave me the names of a few stone yards to go look at granite slabs. On May 16th, I went to their location at the scheduled appointment time and she gave me a tour of the facility and gave me an estimate on a slab that we were interested in. She spent ample time with me although she answered several phone calls with other customers during her time with me while I was sitting at her desk. The next day, I realized that the slab was too small so we started the looking process all over. After my initial visit at their location on May 16th, Jennifer was very difficult to get hold of and did not promptly return my calls. I constantly felt like she was too busy for my business. I would have to call back 3 to 5 times to try to get hold of her. One time, I waited a week before she called me back and this was only prompted by my call. About one week later, I found another granite slab that would work. On May 24th, I got her the info on the new slab, and on May 27th, she sent me an estimate on the new slab. This seemed like a long turnaround time to me. I called her back immediately because I had some questions on the estimate as the pricing was quoted differently than the first estimate. She could not sufficiently explain to me the discrepancy. She got very frustrated with me and I explained to her that I wanted to use them as a fabricator but that I needed an explanation on this estimate. I asked if she would call the granite/stone yard to discuss with them. She stated she would call them and call me back the next day. At this point, I decided it'd be wise to get another estimate whereupon that company gave me an estimate on the same day (I'll report my good experience with them on their listing). She did not call me back and I had to phone her a week later on June 3rd to follow-up. I left a message with her secretary. She did call me back that day at my home# but was unable to reach me b/c our line was down (she also had my cell# ). I phoned her back but didn't hear from her. So, 5 days later, I phoned the granite/stone yard and they told me that she never called them to discuss. This sent up a red flag to me as I felt like there was some dishonesty going on. So, I called Jennifer and left a message that if I did not hear back from her that day, I was going to have to pursue other avenues. Needless to say, I pursued other avenues and am so thankful I did. I felt like I was constantly getting the runaround from this company and it was a frustration and a headache to get proper response time and answers from then.
Description of Work: We were looking for a granite countertop fabricator for our kitchen that was to be renovated. This was to be a job that was over $6,000. No services were performed because we did not hire them. See below.

We dealt with the store on Roswell Rd. Stopped by Wilson Way to view granite slabs but was not impressed as the staff seemed rushed and did not offer much help so the granite was purchased elsewhere and installed by another company. Derrick Thigpen from the Roswell Rd store helped us with our backsplash and I do mean helped. He took time with us, made excellent suggestions at all stages of the process. He also was the installer and he is an artist! I can find no flaws in his work. On top of this, Derrick is so pleasant and professional and made an extra trip to bring us a few tiles in case there was ever an issue with replacement. He even called ahead to see if the time was convenient for him to stop by. Reccommend him highly.

I found Art Stone on Angie's list. I had priced countertops at the local hardware stores but found the prices at Art Stone to be less expensive for a similar product. Jennifer, at Art Stone, was very helpful in helping us select a granite slab for our kitchen. She also gave us some ideas where to find some other products we needed in our renovation. It was a joy to work with her. The actual installation of the countertops was flawless. The seams can be felt but are barely visible. The only problem we encountered with this company was the crew making the templates and later, installing the granite countertops, did not come at the time they were scheduled to come. On both days, after several hours, I had to make a call to see it they were going to come. In spite of this, the experience was excellent. We are pleased with the countertops and would use this company again.

The whole process was seamless. Heath (our salesman) was able to give me an estimate over the phone when I gave him our measurements, and it was very accurate. They sent someone out right away to mark the template and we went to the showroom to pick out our slab of granite, edging, sink, etc. The countertops are absolutely GORGEOUS and were reasonably priced as well. The installation was fast and easy, and they even talked to me about how to maintain the surfaces.

Their prices were really competitive. While there price per square footage for granite was a little higher than some and a lot lower than others (especially the home improvement stores), the bottom line number was the lowest (after I ask them to beat a competitor). I had a curved bar which increase the amount of labor in my installation, but they still were great in price. Everyone was really nice to work with. I did wish they provided a little more information and communication on the process. We found a problem in the template measurements and they came out free of charge to correct it. I did feel as if I had to stay on top of everything and felt a bit nervous about the situation. But the finish product looks good and I was very happy with the price. FYI Some companies use pre-fab slabs so if you have change in direction of your countertops (I have a U-shaped kitchen) some grains of granite will not match up. They use slabs and did a great job matching the grain of my countertops.
Description of Work: New granite countertops were installed to replace laminate countertops plus the addition of a new curved bar.
