We got the estimates because the house had leaked badly, in two spots, front and back of the house. Was prompt for appointment, and thorough in explaining what he recommended. We went with another company, because he emphasized doing additional work at the front of the house, which would have included ripping up a finished area where there was no actual leak, as 'preventative.' We still would have had to pay for refinishing the wall after they left. He did not think the back of the house was really an issue. Shortly after we made the decision, and before the work was done, another heavy rain caused the basement to flood again. We were home at the time and could clearly see that his recommendation would have been completely useless. Most of the water came from the back, which he had ignored in his proposal. We would have been out thousands of dollars for an area which didn't leak, and had to spend thousands more on an area that did, badly. UPDATE (2014): I only just read the response from Aquaguard. They must have been responding based on a different person. They did not follow up, they did not address concerns, they did not recontact us in any way. Again - had we gone with this company, the basement would have flooded badly, as they had no plan at all to address where the majority of the water was actually coming from. Five years later, most of the area they said was a problem (the part that would have required us to rip out drywall through our extra bedroom) still has never had a water problem.

Response from AquaGuard Foundation Solutions
We spoke to the member and explained that it can sometimes be challenging to determine where the water is coming in, especially if it is a finished basement and the homeowner is not aware of where it is coming in. A heavy rain sometimes is what it takes to be sure. It would never be our intention to fix or recommend the wrong areas or change unnecessarily. However, treating the front area which had not been professionally waterproofed, although more money, would never be a waste of money as it is typically only a matter of time before it leaks there as well. The member was pleased that we followed up with his concerns and stated that he did waterproof part of the front wall. We welcome the opportunity to be of help to the member in the future.

We haven't had any water leaks since their repairs. They were very careful, professional, and left the areas clean and dry.
Description of Work: We had two small cracks in the wall of an unfinished area of the basement. Small amounts of water would leak in during heavy rains. Aquaguard repaired the entire wall and found one other area that needed repair.

They never performed any work. They never provided an estimate after coming to look at my basement.
Description of Work: They came out to give me an estimate to encapsulate my crawlspace. I received detailed literature ahead of the visit that outlined how critical it was to have a crawlspace treated. When the service person looked into my crawlspace he said they couldn't provide the vapor barrier due to the construction of my walls from the ground to the bottom of the house while still providing a warranty. He was going to call the manufacturer about a modified installation and get back to me. He never called me back. I also thought he quote of $8,000 to $10,000 for my 1350 square foot house was extremely high. And, they should have called me back as promised, even if it was to tell me they couldn't do the work - I would have respected that.

The wall stabilization was professionally done. They arrived on time, worked through a cold drizzle the first day and finished up early the second day. They installed supports to the outside walls using complex equipment. The 3 men answered all our questions and cleaned up everything at the end of the second day. They even replanted a bush that had to be removed to access the wall. (The house was built in 1970, 1/2 basement, ranch with brick facade sitting on a pretty steep hill.) The bricks on the facade remained intact throughout the lifting of the foundation. They patched the floor cracks in the basement, improved the gutter drainage, washed down our driveway and raked at the end of the lifting procedure. The sidewalk/drainage canal was done by a second, different crew. They started at dawn (really, the sun was not up) It was located next to the garage where we were having problems with rain flooding our garage and in a heavy storm, rain running in to the basement. The initial contract called for gravel covered by concrete. They never used gravel. We were assured it was not needed and until we pressed the point, they were not going to adjust the bill. Eventually a $75.00 credit was offered. We declined to authorize payment until the wood forms were removed and cleanup was done. Someone showed up at dusk the second day and did finally clean up the area.
Description of Work: Two different services: 1. Sidewalk, drainage flume, 2.Stabilize the house /basement walls $2,000 for sidewalk 25-30 feet long (seemed a bit high) $6,000 for the foundation work. Quite in line with 3 other bids we took.

They were prompt and very timely. They installed a system which included thumb pumps. They were very professional and did the work very well. It was a very dusty project and they locked off the other area of the basement to minimize dust. They cleaned up very well after themselves too. We haven?t had any water in the basement even after a year that saw a lot of rainfall. Their price was good for all the work that they did.

I liked the complete presentation they gave me and they did exactly what they said. They did it in 2 days. We were to do only one wall, but there were more leaks in the second wall so they just extended it. Of course it cost me a little bit more, but it was well worth it. I would use them again in future.

They came promptly at 10 pm to inspect and the next week it was fixed. It was amazing. They were great and we got a five-year warranty on the work. At the end of the five years, we can renew it if we want to. They were wonderful. The representative they sent out to inspect was Todd Hall. We had been using a shop vac to get water out of our basement for three days and it was very nice to hear it was fixable.

I have used this company in the past, and their work was fine. I'm not thrilled by their current level of customer no service. A simple call is all that would be required with a tentative date to come out. I understand the backlog to actually do the work. I don't understand why it would take so long to extend the courtesy of a call back.
Description of Work: I called Aquaguard shortly after the heavy rains in Atlanta a few weeks back. I was told that there was a 6 weeks backlog, but someone would call early next week to schedule a time to look at the problem. After a week of not hearing from them I call them again. They apologized for the delay, and said some one would contact me within days. More than a week has gone by, and I still have not heard anything from them.

Awesome! Very professional. Came as scheduled, on time, and finished the job in 1 day. My house is on a steep hill, so the drain work they did was important and done better than I anticipated. The plastic is very thick, no problems so far after a year and a half. They contacted me to provide follow up inspection and service after a year, which was nice but expensive ($400). One problem: I needed a new door to the crawlspace. Aquaguard only does tiny porthole-type doors. If you need a regular hinged door (as I did), Aquaguard subcontracts it out to a guy named George. STAY AWAY FROM GEORGE! His quality of work and punctuality pale in comparison to Aquaguard. Get your own door guy.
Description of Work: From contract, "Crawlspace encapsulation. Install interior drainage. Warranty 25 years. Drain via gravity exit to rear of yard. Install Cleanspace and matting in crawl space. Seal vents and wrap columns. Install wallcap. Warranty 25 years. Build bulkhead stabilizers. Install a smartdrain in lowest area. Install a SaniDry CSB Dehumidifier. Warranty 5 years. Extend downspouts. No warranty on exterior drainage. Seal door (build wall). Apply mold treatment prior to encapsulation."

They arrived on time and worked quietly under the house. They had a lot to contend with (mud and debris) that they cleared out before laying the material. I had 1,000 square feet, but they handled everything in 2 days. It was a tremendous change! When I turned on the heat, there was no smell of damp earth. There will be less dust to clean up (hooray) and any mold will go dormant due to a lack of humidity (my daughter and I are both allergic). After they left, I noticed that the material was wrapped onto the hot water heater (about 6 inches worth). Since I was sold on the idea of protecting my furnace and hot water heater from rust, I asked them to come back to see if the material could go under them. They were very polite and put the material as far under as they could, but what you need to understand is that they can't always get all the way under them. What they did will still protect the furnace and water heater from rust and I am very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Sealed crawlspace up to the floor joists with strong waterproof film guaranteed for 25 years. Wrapped floor supports and replaced old sump pump with new sealed sump pump embedded in floor. Added dehumidifier. Both sump pump and dehumidifier drain outside of crawl space (should have beautiful flowers where drain is!).

Very well. Aquaguard agreed to remove our crawlspace insulation at no additional charge. Even when they accidentally pulled an alarm system wire in removing the insulation, Aquaguard agreed to cover the charge to have it repaired. They also honored a 10% discount coupon (through Angie's List) after we had already received the estimate, just prior to performing work. They completed the project on schedule and performed with professional workmanship.

Bill Hough came out to give us an estimate. He was on time, assessed the problem and told us what could be done to fix our problem. He was very reasonable, friendly, honest, and did not try to sell "extras" that we didn't need. He was accessible for questions I had later on by cell phone. The work crew was on time and efficient. They covered our carpet and furnace intake with plastic to keep things clean. The foreman answered the questions I had. The job was finished in a timely manner and the crew cleaned up after themselves. I got in the crawlspace myself later to inspect the job and thought it was very well done. There was some confusion at the end as to whether our Angie's List coupon was still valid and Tom DiGregorio stepped in and agreed to honor the coupon at full face value. I think that he tries hard to keep customers happy and satisfied with the work his company does.
Description of Work: We had problems with a dark, dirty, musty crawlspace and rodents. Aquaguard installed the Cleanspace system to encapsulate our dirt crawlspace. This involved cleaning out a lot of debris, grading the surface, sealing the holes and vents to the outside, installing the white thick plastic liner and a dehumidifier system.

They have a system where they put holes in the wall and then fill them, which is their own invention that works great. They gave us a five year guarantee on the job and they were very quick. The price is not cheap but not high either seeing that they don t cause any damage to your home it is a lot cheaper because you don t have to fix anything else afterwards like you might with other systems.

Very responsive giving an estimate. The proposed fix was much different and less expensive than a second company's estimate. Demolition was subcontracted out to someone who was late on the morning of work. Demolition was messy, good thing I covered some nearby computer equipment, even though I was told that I didn't need to do anything before work began. The crack fix itself went well, and quickly, as promised. I was then told that the subcont. would replace the removed studs, but not for several days, a detail not explained up front. The company called a week later when they realized that this cleanup work still had not been done. The sub was late again to do this work (blaming the company for a double booking), and then didn't even show up personally. Junior crewmen did a decent job, but not great. I'd recommend AquaGuard, but wish that this subcontractor had shown the same professionalism and attention to detail in his demo and cleanup work. He brings down the overall scores.
Description of Work: A hairline crack in our poured foundation wall was injected and sealed to stop and prevent leaking. A dry-well was created underneath the tile floor at the crack to catch any future moisture, should the leak ever return. Some studs and framing members had to be removed to access the crack and replaced after the work was complete.

Allan Waite, engineer/estimator person, was knowledgeable and talented. His plan was structurally better and less expensive than other quotes received. Production manager, Luis Ceuvas, was competent and friendly. Work was performed quickly, work started when they said it would, and contract satisfactorily honored. I am so pleased that the house is stable and solid. AquaGuard did not try and sell us anything we didn't need. Absolutely no pressure when estimator came to ''sign now.'' He spent a good deal of time going over the foundation and designing a plan, then explaining it to us. We are extremely happy with this job.
Description of Work: Home built 22 years ago with 14' spans from center support beam to outside wall. Code is now 8'. House was settling and walls beginning to buckle. House built with outside foundation and up on block piers. Company installed 8 concrete footings (18''x18''), 8 quickposts (steel adjustable screw jacks), triple 2x10 beams under floor joists and main beams to lift and support house. Support spans are now 7' and home is wonderfully solid. Work was completed in two days.
