Alain Pressure Washing

Alain restained the deck on a Friday and that Monday began a rather rainy week. The rain did not seep into the wood, so good job, Alain! We also had Alain restain a wooden fence that divides our property from that of our neighbors, which was also executed very well. When it?s time to apply a new coat on the deck, we will be calling Alain again. His prices were fair and his service prompt.

We contacted Alain last year about cleaning and staining our new deck. Unfortunately, the deck was not completed until the first of March and he was able to honor the quote he had originally given. Alain was extremely flexible with our schedule and came to the house to do the work when promised. He was in constant contact with us to make sure his services could be done to the best of his ability. He didn't want to rush the other contractors but patiently waited until the work was completed before beginning his process of cleaning and staining. The end result, we have a double deck that looks great and is ready for use. The weather cooperated and the large deck is finally complete. We are extremely grateful to Alain and his team

Alain's just finished pressure washing my house and driveway. OMG! Everything looks fantastic. House and driveway look like new. He was the nicest guy, did what asked, gave me a great price. I will definitely have them come back next year. I am so very pleased with everything.

Alain's Pressure Washing CAN'T BE TRUSTED to do what they commit to. I called Alain to pressure wash and stain my back deck. He came out on time and provided a competitive quote for the work (no issues at this point). During the following week, My son and I did the pressure washing, therefore I called him back and asked for a revised quote for just the staining.....he said it would be half the original quote of $1150 (or $575.00). I agreed to this price and asked him to bring by stain color samples. Within a week he came by and we finalized the color; reconfirmed the price and set a date for the work - following Friday.....all is going well to this point. Then came the issues, Alain calls me late Thursday night and said he can't make it the next day.....some lame excuse about other jobs. He did mention that his partner would come over the weekend and perform the work. After waiting all weekend and two more days, no word from anyone. I then called him and he again referred me to his partner. Three days later his partner calls me and says he can do the work over the weekend, but that he had no transportation and asked that I PICK HIM UP! He also wasn't planning on buying the stain and that I would have to do that too. He also wanted me to pick up his co-workers as well. I asked how was he going to get all the equipment to my house (Ladders, tarps, rollers, etc)? No clear response. After the shock of this request wore off, I respectfully declined his offer and called Alain back. Short story on this conversation uncovered the fact that Alain did not want to do the work for the confirmed quote he gave me. He wasted three weeks of my time only to find out that he was unprofessional as they get. I then called a competitor and they did a perfect job for the same price. I would stay away from Alain and his roving band of no-truck, no-equipment and no-stain partners!

Great! Alain set up a time to give us an estimate, and then we called him back to schedule service. It was rainy the morning he was supposed to come, but he called in advance to suggest he try coming later in the day or another day. Came later that day and got the job done -- quickly and did a great job! We got him to quote us for a few other jobs and plan to use him in the future. Very professional and responsive!

Scheduling was easy and pictures were emailed to me. I work for a local property management firm and hired Alain to pressure wash one of the home we manage. Usually businesses pay contractors in 30 days, which it has not been. Alain, the owner, called me to demand his payment and he used profanity in his demands! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! We will not be using him or recommending his company to anyone!

I found Alain on Angie's list and contacted him by email. He called me promptly and set up an appointment for a quote that weekend. He arrived on time for the appointment, and was very friendly and answered all of our questions. His quote was reasonable and we accepted. A few days later he did the pressure-washing. Sealing the deck was delayed a few days due to rainy weather, but he completed the job about as soon as could be reasonably expected given the weather. All in all, we thought he did a fine job at a great price. We recommend him and would use him again in the future.

Alain was available quickly and gave an estimate that was very reasonable. He was onsite when he said he'd be and did a great job w/o any oversight by me (not typical with some contractors).

Alain and his assistant did a terrific job at a very fair price. Alain gave me an estimate on the same day I called him and promptly scheduled me soon afterwards for the two-day job. He was most accommodating and offered to clean and seal my wood furniture on the decks and pressure wash the house siding as well as part of his estimate for the decks. My large decks were covered in built-up tree sap and mildew and in need of a good cleaning and waterproofing. Alain's extra effort to clean the decks and restore the wood grain appearance paid off nicely. Even he was surprised to see how much lighter the decks were after drying from his cleaning. Once the decks were dry several days later, he came back and applied a heavy coating of a high grade wood stain/sealer (TWP 200) that made the decks look great and repel water well. Having cleaned and sealed the decks myself several times in the last ten years, this was a real treat to have Alain do it. And this time, it was done right by a true professional. He was also thoughtful enough to cover my water garden with plastic to protect my fish on both workdays. The wood decks and furniture as well as the house siding look great! I am so grateful to have found Alain on Angie's List--his high ratings by his many satisfied customers are well deserved!

After getting 3 bids, I chose Alain because of his competitive bid and his prompt attention to my request. Alain and his associate came out on time, were very courteous and professional. They hand cleaned my gutters and pressure washed the house. I was very pleased with the finished job and plan to hire Alain in the future to pressure wash and seal my privacy fence.

Alain is great. He listened to what we wanted and did a great job powerwashing the house and all sidewalks and deck. We will definetely call him in the spring to refinish the deck. Price also very reasonable.

Alain came to my house for a free estimate that was in line with two others I had received - it turns out I was lucky that the other two were not available for several weeks, because Alain was there when he said he would be, and the rusults are excellent. He brought stain samples with him, and made suggestions that simplified the process greatly.

I emailed Alain to get an estimate on the cost of sealing and staining a new deck on Thursday (recently tore down and replaced old deck). Alain emailed me back Friday morning with an estimate which I agreed to. I later realized I had given him the wrong size of the deck (I was off by about 25 sq ft or so), which I emailed him and asked for a new quote. He told me not to worry about it the original estimate was still good. When i asked about picking the color of the stain he told me to check a website for color preference. He called later that Friday afternnon and said if I wanted he could do the washing that afternoon. I agreed and he and his assistant ended up shortly after and on Monday morning they came back to seal and stain. The job was done quickly and professionally and I would certainly use again.

Alain promptly came to make an estimate. After a few months following that, I asked Alain to do the job which he did very well honoring the original estimate.

He was very comprehensive in his review of exactly what he would be doing. He arrived on time and got right to work. No wasting of time on the cell!Very much appreciated. Did a great job applying the stain. Cleaned up well and pressure washed the front steps and driveway.

Excellent service with a smile. Alain was very resourceful and offered to do little extras where necessary without addition cost. Always being on time meant all work was completed within a week. The difference between old and renewed is amazing.

Alain prepared the area fairly thoroughly, doing a light pressure washing on the wood a day or so before and taking reasonable care to protect the lower deck from drips and stains. Although some drips and stains did occur, I rate this portion of the work as acceptable. It?s hard to do anything of this scope without a little splatter or spill here or there. He arrived to do the work and as he was preparing I asked if he was going to fill the nail holes and caulk gaps as I had requested in my email to him. He said he had not planned to, but that he had some filler in his truck and would do so. This is something that I would expect a professional painter to do as a matter of course without being asked. I was not present for all of the work, and as he was finishing, I discovered that he had not primed the cedar bandboard as I had requested and had only painted it once. I was, frankly, shocked by the appearance of the work. The paint barely covered the wood. He had not followed my emailed instructions to abide by the Western Red Cedar Association's recommendations for painting new untreated cedar, which calls for applying a wood sealant, then priming and painting according to manufacturer instructions. Anyone who has worked with cedar knows that cedar oils will quickly bleed through paint. To be fair, I did release the job after asking him to put a second coat of paint on the bandboard, which really looked shockingly bad. I just thought I'd just have to repaint the bandboard myself sooner than planned. But it was evening and getting dark by this time and I'm not skilled in construction, so I didn't see many of the shortcomings my deck contractor later pointed out to me. These included failing to caulk the soffit gaps to seal against water and insect intrusion, failing to patch the nail holes in the soffit and failing to caulk the seam where the bandboard meets the screen porch structure to prevent water infiltration. I later noticed on my own that a few areas on the tongue and groove ceiling of the screen porch that had received no stain, and I also noticed that he had failed to fully caulk and paint the corner boards as I had requested. This left large gaps between the porch posts and the corner boards. The corner boards were only partially and lightly painted, with the unpainted surface showing through brush strokes, and some of the other areas were not neatly caulked or painted, as I would expect from a professional job. After concluding that I would need to hire a professional painting company to return and properly prep and paint the surfaces in question, I contacted Alain to ask that he refund a portion of the fee related to the painting job. He agreed without any bargaining to refund $200 of the $700 fee, which was an acceptable resolution to my mind. Overall, his performance did not, in my estimation, rise to the level of excellence suggested by other member reports. I rate the staining job as a B, "good" and the painting work as a D, or "bad." I will not do business with this company again, however I was impressed by his willingness to refund a portion of the fee without argument.

Alain and his crew did a fantastic job. He was able to come over and give me a quote within a few hours of my initial call. He educated me on the pros and cons of the various stains that I could choose from helping me make the right choice. It has been a long time since I last saw a contractor that was so concerned about doing a good job and making the customer 110% happy. His attention to detail, respect for your time and environment and quality of the work stood out. Alain had to come out 3 times to complete the job due to the weather and each time kept me in the loop as to the expected weather conditions and when he would come out. Rather than just trying to get the job done and getting paid, he made sure he did it right and did not rush anything. Alain also went above and beyond what he had agreed on completing.. repainting some siding next to the deck, trimming some rose bushes, helping move furniture and heavy equipment away from the deck and even pressure washing my drive way. The deck looks great - like brand new - and I just want to thank Alain for the great experience and quality of work.

Alain was fabulous. He answered all my questions and his estimate was exactly what I ended up paying. He and performed the job himself along with his assistant. He showed up ready to start the job at the agreed upon time. Take my advice and do not underestimate the advantage, convenience and peace-of-mind you get by dealing directly with a business owner who's also the on-site boss. Alain's estimated duration to finish the job was accurate. He did the job on the day I wanted it done, which was important for my busy schedule. I highly recommend Alain's Pressure Washing and I plan to enlist his services again.

THe whole process was as smooth as possible, and I would recommand Alain highly to anybody who is looking to have work done on the deck. After all the horror stories and exorbitant prices this job was done like dream . Thank you Angie, and thank you Alain!

Our approximately 10 year old deck was starting to show its age. Alain came by, gave us an estimate, and suggested what we might need. He pressure-washed everything first, then did the sealing about a week later due to a week of rain storms. He checked in every day to see if it had rained that day and if it might be a good time to come by and finish the job. The whole process was smooth and extremely professional.

First of all, I cannot say enough about Alain and Ivan. I called Alain on a Saturday morning and he came by that evening and gave us a quote which was very reasonable. He was very informative and answered all our concerns. Within a week he was able to start the pressure washing of fence & deck. Three days later he and Ivan were back to do the staining process. He allowed 2 days in between cleaning & staining but it rained so was back in 3 days instead of 2 days. They completed the work in a very timely fashion in spite of the very hot temperatures. My husband just had shoulder surgery so I asked them if they could remove the heavy grill & patio furniture from deck which they gladly did for us. We are very pleased with everything he did and I will definitely use him again!
