Arnaldo and Jenelle were very easy to work with. They were fast to respond to any queries and were absolutely flexible with change-orders that are inevitable on jobs of this magnitude. Everything was upfront with no hidden expenses or fees. They went above and beyond in taking care of the customer. After the nightmare of dealing with my original contractor they were a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended!

AEM was the lowest estimate by far of 5 bids we received. The work was performed on time (before expected), on budget (no hidden cost), and they actually provided more than expected. They provided design advice that was much appreciated and the crew kept the work area cleaned each day. They were responsive to any issues noted during and after the project. Items to note: Crew does not speak much English (this had little impact on the project as a whole). If you want any networking e.g. cat 5 cable run you may want to hire your own electrician (one of the only issues we experienced). There were a few times when scheduling the crew was a last minute exercise with little notice (this is common in construction). Overall: We were extremely pleased by the finished product and the experience with AEM and would recommend them for this type of work request.

AEM went above and beyond our expectations. They treated our home as if it was their own. They are honest, hard working and VERY pleasant to work with. They actually did more than we had hired them to do and at no additional cost. We never walked into a contruction hazard or a messy work sight. AEM cleaned up after themselves after each day. AEM covered all of our floors (Hardwoods and Carpet) during the entire process. The floors looked flawless when they left. They covered/closed off rooms as needed as well. Arnaldo (the owner) is a perfectionist and will not leave a job or project until it is completed to his standards. AEM was given a 130 item scope of work - most line items were multiple parts - to tackle. This list can be overwhelming as I have a tendency to write very exact details and have a very opinionated idea of what good looks like in home renovations as I have done many of these in the past. In hindsight, the scope was not as required as I thought due to AEM wanting to do it right. I have hired over 40 contractors in the last 3 years. AEM is by far the best contractor I have found. When we initially got the quote for our house from AEM (among others), they were the only ones who said it would take an extra month to complete as they had a fair bit of work. My opinion is that the contractors who aren't busy are that way for a reason. To my surprise, they did begin work on certain items immediately. The Monday after signing the contract, they stripped and replaced the shingles on our house! Additionally, we found the initial contact with Jennell was not as responsive as some very eager (bored) contractors. Again, this is a product of being good at what you do. Jennell took and extra few hours for the initial contact and was very responsive once the work began. She treated us like we were her only clients at the time and that very much appreciated. I know that most people want their questions answered in a timely manner during a project, and rest assured, Jennell is very responsive during the project and will put you at ease if any issues do arise. AEM takes pride in completing the project on budget and will do everything they can to make that happen. During the course of our very large prject on a 60 year old home, they only found old cast iron piping that required an additional $1900 to repair/replace. Less than 2% deviation from a quote is world class in any industrial/commercial project, not to mention the standard deviation in the unpredicatable residnetial construction arena!!! We have hired MANY contractors in the past to work on our previous homes and AEM is the ONLY company we have trusted and the ONLY company we will use again!!! Their prices are very fair and extremely competetitive. The results of their labor are worth much more than what they charge. We would recommend this company to all of our friends and family....And actually, our parents plan on using them next!!!

They installed drywall in the kitchen and master bath, and patched several other walls. I was very happy with the end result and I'd certainly recommend them!

I have not had much luck with Angieslist for any kind of work until I came across AEM construction. It seems as if most of the contractors I have received quotes from have outrageous prices. Most were material cost x 5 = cost. One was as high as material costs x9! Arnoldo came out to my home to quote and was right on time. After a few weeks, I had him come out and requote-as I wanted some additional work performed. That night, I received a revised quote. His crew arrived on time and were very courteous. They work....and work....and work. Most of the communication I had was with Jennell, the office manager, through email. Arnoldo's quote was half of what other companies were charging. I was a little concerned with how low the quote was, but the quality and professionalism of the work is second to none. I would absolutely hire this company again...and probably will. If I could submit A+'s....I would.

Wow - I am so amazed with this company. We had some water damage from a leaking washer. I called several companies on Angie's List willing to take the first company that called me back with a 5 Star rating. AEM called me back right away and was so confident I booked them. Aside from the amazing work - this is what really amazed me. It was Monday morning and I could not be available until Wednesday. They were able to book me for Wednesday - my first availability. They let me know it may be a two step process and it was. They were back on Thursday to finish. For the entire job they were so careful to use plastic to protect everything in the area. They did an excellent clean up after step one and after the job was complete. It is as if the problem never happened once they left. I can't tell you how surprised and pleased I am. The price was very reasonable (keep in mind - I was in such a rush - I trusted them and did not bother with an ESTIMATE !!!) . Wow - what a great bunch of folks. You can not go wrong with this company !!!!!!!!!

AWESOME to deal with and quality was top notch! Easty to work with, good price, constant communication, and completed work in a timely manner. Arnoldo and team were very professional and did an outstanding job and stayed within quote. We had a master closet built into the attic space over our garage that adjoins our master bedroom. After getting a structural engineer to draw up the plans AEM team has to build out additional support to accomidate the additioanl weight and then frame, drywall, paint, and indstall hardwoods into the closet. There was a team there working every day and they were very concious about keeping my house clean both when they were there and after they left. We have several other projects planned and we plan to go directly to AEM on all. I have and would recommend AEM to anyone who needs quality work done.

I want to commend your and your staff for the excellent service you provided in the repair of my kitchen ceiling. From the initial contact, thru the estimate, the work scheduling and the actual work performance, I can only commend your company in the highest terms. I could not have imagined that the ceiling repair and stippling match would have been accomplished so perfectly. The care your employees took in protecting the work environment was without equal. Not knowing what to expect, I had covered the floors and enclosed the work area. Your staff acted as if no protection was present and more than duplicated the protection I had in place. Their attention to detail and a professionalism were extraordinary. Please feel free to use me as a reference as to your high level of work performance. Thanks you again.. All the workers for AEM were courteous and professional. They did an outstanding job, my drywall looks great! I loved that they cleaned up after working as well. When Arnoldo came to collect payment he said that after I primed the drywall, if there were any imperfections to call them and they would come back out. I was stunned that they offered such costumer service! I will definitely use AEM again!

I recently finished my basement. I decided to GC the project myself.... I am one of those types that plans and plans and then changes throughout the project. Yes, I am the homeowner that contractors try to stay away from... rightfully so. If there is one thing I can say about Arnoldo and his team, they are flexible! This was a pretty big project that took several months to complete, due to other contractors... not AEM. AEM would always go out of their way to accommodate me through changes and mishaps from other contractors (electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc.) If there was something that needed to be re-done or changed, he would quickly send someone out to take care of it. If you have ever done a basement finish, you know things don't work out the way they are typically planned. For example, more than half way through the project I realized my exterior door was a 32" and not 36". This was going to be a problem getting furniture in the basement. I talked to Arnoldo that evening about it.. He said "no problem" and told me to go pick a door out at home depot. I did that evening and when I got home from work the next day, it was installed and fixed up. Keep in mind, they had just finished the Sheetrock and painting of the wall they had to tear open to put it in. Like I said, I was GC for my project and there were some things that really stressed the situation, but Arnoldo and his team made things much better for me. They work quickly and cleanly. He always came in on time or early with each phase of the project. His teams always cleaned up after themselves as well as cleaning up the mess other contractors left behind. Another thing I appreciated is when something wasn't going to work right, Arnoldo would share his experience and thoughts on how to make it work the right way; or give other options to me. I had an issue with the trey ceilings in the theater room due to the projector screen dimensions changing. I was panicking as the screen was due to be hung soon. Arlnold took a look around, scratched his head... then gave me a perfect solution. It took his team a full day to make those changes, but he had them do it and still managed to keep the whole project on track and on time! He was one of the only contractors I had throughout this project that felt like a partnership. The quality of work is really great. I am extremely meticulous with seeing every little blemish in work, but every time I was able to find something, they were there to fix it immediately. The framing is solid, the Sheetrock is clean, crown is incredible, and the paint work is great. The basement looks beautiful and my family thoroughly enjoys it. I have waited a couple months to write and submit this review because with work like this, it usually takes some time to see if the quality holds up or not. So far so good! No major issues that we have seen so far. I recently have found some areas where the crown is splitting or needs touch up in the cracks, but that is expected as the job settles and the weather changes. I will place a call to Arnoldo and give his warranty a test and follow up to let everyone know how that went. I am extremely pleased with the timely, professional, and quality work provided by AEM and the personal touch Arnoldo provides to his customers. Thanks again and I will certainly be using AEM again in the future!

Item that needed to be done. Arnoldo exceeded my expectations on the quality of his work, staying within my budget and his estimate, the deadline I had to meet in order to move in, and his professionalism. He always answered my calls right away and offered to meet me if I asked. He significanly improved on my design ideas. Everyone that has seen the finished walkout basement apartment has been impressed with the before and after results. When he told me he knew what needed to be done, he clearly knew his trade. I've heard so many "horror" stories about remodelers, I consider myself extremely lucky to have chosen AEM. I am a very picky, detail oriented person and a former Home Depot manager so my expextations were very high and Arnoldo's knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship exceeded all those expectations. Overall job was completed as expected & job completed very quickly. The only issue was the dusty residue from sanding the drywall was left behind but easily cleaned up.

I love to woodwork and I am pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to house work. I did not choose AEM lightly as I interviewed 4 different companies. Arnoldo showed up right on time for estimate appointment went through all of the work that needed to be done. I will note that I had already scheduled another company to begin work for me that I thought was the best fit, but obviously I changed my mind, not on price but on the level of comfort I had with Arnoldo. (the other company was actually cheaper) His crew showed up right on time every day and did great work. The line of communication was always open and if I had a question it was answered within a very reasonable time! From start to finish this was a very pleasing transaction. Arnoldo is a pro and WILL be using him again in the near future. As a matter of fact he is coming by my house to look at another project this week. If you are looking for any type of drywall work anywhere in your home please consider AEM strongly! I guarantee you will be beyond happy! He is a General Contractor as well and that was a plus!

It was a pleasure to work with Arnoldo throughout the whole repair/remodel process. The damage was discovered in May and it took until July to get all the work done due to dealing with the insurance company. Arnoldo was very flexible and accommodating. He used workers that were skilled in their area of expertise and the work was always done well. He and his workers always showed up on time and came when they said they would be here. Arnoldo coordinated all work effort making it so easy for me since I work full time. HE was careful to seek my input on anything before proceeding with the work and went the extra mile to help me pick out tile and flooring. He did what he could to make a frustrating and extensive home repair go as smoothly as possible and we are very pleased with the end result.

I called for a estimate for popcorn ceiling removal, they came out did a walk through and i never received a estimate. I called the company back and still nothing.

Worst customer service experience I have ever had Quoted a price I bought material crew showed up walk thru house looked at job went outside waited a few minutes and left never came back I forgot to add one of the crew used my backyard as a outhouse Would never recommend this company

Receptionist is rude and unprofessional. I called Monday and scheduled for them to come out Friday (today) to give us a price on finishing our basement. I took off work to meet them at the house today. The receptionist/scheduler called 20 min before they were to arrive to confirm the appointment. I did not answer the phone because I was outside and she called again 10 min later and said that since I did not call her back they were not coming out. They should have been here when she placed the second call. I could not be more furious! I have taken a day off work without pay for nothing!

They were professional, they have a young lady by name of Janelle, and she made the appointment with me, she was on time and got back with an estimate. They are painting and construction but I went with the painting and they even provided me with some other painting ideas like painting my mailbox, painting my door, they put that up so they are to come tomorrow. They are very knowledgeable, very courteous, very prompt and professional, I'm impressed. We spoke in June but he did come out last Wednesday.

GREAT, they showed up on time to quote, they were responsive and competitive with quote. They showed up early the day they were suppose to come and finished quickly and cleaned up afterwards and protected my carpet and furniture BEFORE they started working. Jeff F
