Chuck Grimes remodeled our condo building in St. Simons, GA a few years ago, replacing all the exterior stucco, roof and windows. During the process we had to give him a door code to enter our condo which our second home, we don't use often. He swore to give it do no one and be onsite when anyone was in the home. He gave it out to all his subs and our house was ran sacked over period of 2 months. They stole TV's, electronics, beer, valuables, you name it! When we discovered this and called the police he admitted he gave our the code to the police, but suggested our Christian cleaning lady, who also had the code, of being the thief. Due to her having the code, the police would not press charges because they could not prove it. After this happened, we talked to some previous customers of his on Sea Island that had a similar experience with theft by his employees and or subs. Chuck was not on site very often but when he was he stayed in on of the other owners units which he treated like a construction office. After he left that owner had to totally remodel due to the way he abused the unit. The work preformed was fine but I the professionalism is not very good. I would ask for proof of insurance and if all his employees and subs are licensed and bonded. We had problems and delays with him finishing the final punch list and had to withhold money until he was finally done. I would not use again or recommend to anyone.
