Don Williams Painting Contractor

I have used Don Williams’ before. Their painting work on interior walls was fine, so I hired them for a third time to paint my kitchen cabinets. He came to my home and gave me an estimate via email with no issues. When he arrived to do the work my husband and I elected to remain out of the way of Don and his sons so they could do their work. When they left for the day, we noticed some of the cabinets had been shut and had dried. When we opened them, paint was pulled off, leaving holes in the paint and exposing the brown wood underneath. I alerted Don, and he simply replied “We will check that, thanks.” I also informed him that there were a number of paint drips on the upper cabinets. He responded, “We are checking that as we go around.” Don did not take the cabinet doors off their hinges to do their work. Leaving the cabinet doors in a vertical position to paint them will inevitably lead to drips and overall shoddy workmanship. Three days later, when the cabinets had totally dried, my husband and I took note of several dings in the paint, drips, and uneven brush strokes and paint tone. There was even paint on my floor, my oven, and my granite countertop. I sent photos to Don, and he responded with an apology and an assurance to come and fix the issues. I put sticky notes on all of the issues on the cabinets in hopes he would correct each of them. My cabinets and drawers were COVERED in sticky notes. Unfortunately, the work he did was poor again—there were even some areas that were worse than before. When I sent him more pictures, he responded with a profuse apology, admitting he should have checked his sons’ work closer and promising to come back and fix it. I told him I want to be there for his return so I could point out every spot I wanted fixed. He offered up days during my child’s spring break that he wanted to come back—all of which I am unavailable. Furthermore, I work full time so I need a lead time to deconflict from my work schedule. When I gave him two additional dates, he responded hours later, telling me he could not work those dates. At this point, I had tried to call him 3 times and had left voicemails. He did nit answer any of my calls, responding with text messages. I told him my preference was to speak via voice rather than text—he responded that he was in a public place and would call me later. I told him I was unavailable later. At this point, much of my time had been wasted trying to get in touch with him and cleaning up the mess made in my house from sanded paint particles and drips. Bear in mind, I had not been able to use my kitchen for about four days, resulting in costs for eating out. I therefore requested a refund—and only a partial one at that, which he did provide expeditiously. Bottom line, I am now out over 1000.00, and have kitchen cabinets and countertops messed up that I will have to have completely redone. Don is a nice man and I think he means well, but his work this time around was sub-par.

We contacted Mr. Williams in hopes he and his crew would be able to fix a mess left from another company. Mr. Williams and his son did an AWESOME job! The rooms look fantastic! We definitely recommend them!

Everything went well. Good folks to work with. I haven't moved into my house yet but everything looks good. Because the holidays are around the corner, Mr. Don and his sons worked until late some nights to get finished ahead of time. He even worked out a payment plan with me. I am extremely happy to recommend Mr. Don Williams and family.

I thank God for sending Mr. Williams and his sons to me to complete this home improvement project. They were punctual and very attentive to my concerns and my questions. The quality of their work is exceptional and their people-skills are comforting and reassuring. I will recommend Mr. Williams and his sons with high praises to anyone who wants quality work done for a reasonable price.

Fantastic to work with. Don accommodated not only our holiday, but work schedules. On one day when we were not able to be at home, he and his team tended to our dog. Presented a schedule of what areas were to be done when and adhered to it. Very thorough, cleaned up and placed furniture daily. We were able to continue normal lives without interruption. Price was more than fair. Would definitely recommend them and will probably used them again for more work in the spring.

Both times Don and his sons did a really nice job with the painting jobs. They were always very polite and did a nice job of pointing out any issues they came across during the painting of the exterior of our home. Highly recommend Don.

Mr. Williams and his staff did an AMAZING job. They were so professional and kind and the painting they did looks wonderful! I would recommend Don Williams painting to anyone and will definitely be using them in the future for any painting needs!!

It worked out very well. It actually took a couple of weeks for them to get out. They came and did the job. They didn't finish on time and we ran out of paint but they had done most of it. They should be more timely. We had to initiate and contact them directly. They should be a little more aggressive getting in touch with us since we had already paid our money and just didn't hear anything. Once they got here, they did a good job.

Very professional. Quality job at a fair price

This was a $350 big deal purchase. They were okay. They only came out once. Their responsiveness was fine. They did not stay the whole time they said they were going to stay. Also they had two guys who came in my bonus room and they did a cr*p job. The guy who painted my ceiling, I think it was the dad, did a good job. There were some splatters that I had to clean up, but other than that the work was fine. The workers who came out were nice.

Mr Williams was prompt and courteous. The job was done professionally and was of good quality. He went the extra mile of reattaching a shutter on the second floor that had become warped. He does not leave until you are satisfied with all aspects of the job.

we had a contract price of $1,400.00 which included all walls and trim work.we gave mr.williams a brand new refridgerator with a value of $1.200.00 for $700.00 to be deducted of the price quote leaving a balance due of $700.00. we supplied the paint his quote was for labor only. upon submitting his final bill for addtional paint needed to complete the job he also wanted an addtional $400.00 for trim work. i did not have his writtin quote with me when he gave me the addtional charge for the trim work. after trying to resolve this we both became very upset. i offered to split the cost with him and gave him an addtional $200.00. he stated i was ripping him off.also the were 6 decretive drape holders worth 25.00 each missing. he stated he did not know what happen to them. however he was the only one that had access.to the home. after finding the original.quote stating the price included the trim work. i want him to refund the $200.00 addtional money i gave him. i hope you can assist in getting this resolved.I have no complaints on the quality of the painting of the interior walls .some of the trim work needed to be re painted as well as they did not paint behind the stove area but did paint it when asked to do it. john culliton

Don Williams and this twin sons did an exceptional job in completing all repairs and painting the entire exterior. Don did the repair work and his sons did almost all of the painting. His prep and pressure washing was critical, and he did a great job with this. The painting took time in the July high heat. both sons were meticulous and did not spill or drip, and protected all floors and outside surfaces. The lines separating the two different colors that were used were sharp and crisp, with no "over-painting" on brick or window sills. Don is easy to work with, arrived when he said he would. . I will use them again, for sure

After Don came over to estimate the job, he emailed me the estimate soon after. Don is professional, polite, and a very nice person. We are very pleased with the quality of the work, and as soon as I can decide on a color for the kitchen, and possibly a few other rooms, I will definitely ask him to paint again. The price was what I expected, not low or high. My dad and brother were well-respected painting contractors for many years, and I found myself comparing Don's work to them. He met our expectations. I haven't been able to get in touch with them. They said they emailed me, but I never saw anything in my email or on Angie's List message center. I've been promised callbacks a couple times and never received any return calls except the first time.

Don came out first to give me a free estimate, which he emailed to me. The quote included labor and materials. We were matching an existing wall color, so we went with the same Sherman Williams paint. The quote included a primer coat and two coats of paint. I thought the price was very reasonable, so we scheduled the work. He and his two sons came today, after he contacted me to make sure we matched the paint exactly. They did a beautiful job, and even hung a mirror for me as well. They were very professional, very thorough, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Everything went very well throughout the entire process. I had to reschedule several times because of delays in closing on my new house and moving out. Mr Williams worked with me and completed all of the required work for me in a very timely manner. Mr. Williams stuck with the estimated cost and performed even more work than originally requested.

There's nothing special about the details. He seemed like a nice, honest man. But he didn't show up to finalize a contract or to work. I must assume he was busy with something more important to him. Mine was not a major renovation. No hard feelings.

Had to call him back a second time because when the paint dried and the sun shown on it, it looked terrible. Came back a second time and redid job but it still was not what I expected. I am not happy with the fact that the very first time I use Angies List I get such poor results. I do not think I will try again.

The job Don did for us went very smoothly. He did the work for an extremely reasonable price and did not exceed the estimate he gave us. He completed the work ahead of schedule. The quality of his work was exceptional. He also did some additional minor tasks at no charge. Both he and his employees were very professional, courteous and friendly.

Mr. Williams called me back right away once I contacted him, came right over and gave me an estimate. I was very pleased with the cost and the work he and his family did. Once they started the job, it didn't take long at all to complete. They even went out of their way to help me move furniture, put curtain rods back up, and little things that I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. I will definitely call on Mr. Williams again!!

Let me start off that I am never impressed enough to write a review, but Don and his family did a great job and deserve a glowing review. Don responded to my request for an estimate within hours of placing it. He and his sons did great work at a amazing price. Don went above and beyond helping me out with odds jobs. He even found and coordinated a person to replace some carpet for me. I would highly recommend him to others.

We found Don on Angie's list and called. He responded promptly, came out to give us an estimate and finished the job on time and within budget.
