Unprofessional. Did not complete the agreed upon work. Also placed some of the debris under our deck which is not ok. Left the yard a mess. They tried to leave with OUR TOOLS. They made multiple inquiries regarding acquiring items on our property. Do not recommend! We very much wish we would have went with someone else.

The crew did a great job taking the trees down and I give them an A for that. However, the before and after would get an F. I was out of town, Mike begged me to let him start early and I made the mistake of letting him. The crew demolished my burning barrels that can not be replaced. They destroyed slate rock that came from a 200 year old house that I spent 9 days digging out. I was not home before this was started, Mike should have cleared my yard rather than break everything. Before he started. He left my front yard a mess and refused to clean up the mess. He said he never said he would clean it up. Not even an idiot would agree to that. He doesn't seem to care that he is dragging his partner "Sam's Tree Service" into his mess. I paid a lot of money even if the price was reasonable, it was to include clean up.

I contacted Mike via cell phone to inquire about tree services. He was attentive and polite and offered to come right away; I scheduled an appointment for the following week. Mike and his team arrived on-time, they reviewed the site and offered a generous price, because I needed many things done. We agreed on a phased approach, with two visits approximately 2 weeks apart. He and his team got right to work, and carefully (and skillfully) removed the tree limbs depositing them in a central area for later trash pickup. They cleaned the site and driveway upon completion. And, he confirmed the schedule for the next visit. All staff was polite and professional. I would highly recommend them for other customers, that need tree services in the area.

I was working outside my home and saw Mike and his climber working on my neighbor's trees. I had a tree that I was concerned about, as it was standing dead, quite large, right beside a fence and within reach of the house. About the time I walked over to talk with Mike, he was already headed for me. He quoted me a spot price, them threw in cutting down two more dead trees that were smaller and much easier. Because the main tree was so large and precarious, Mike called in the troops. His climber, Doug, is extraordinary. He limbed the tree (didn't top it) and dropped it exactly where I wanted it. They were done within an hour and a half. No fancy equipment, big truck or matching uniforms; just some courteous, knowledgeable, hard-working guys making a living. I'd hire them back in a heartbeat.

Mike knocked on my door and offered to cut down the dead tree in my front yard for $150. That is a low price but I was skeptical of his credentials and professionalism because he approached me. When I asked him about being qualified he showed me his ATM card, drivers license and business card. That didn't ease my concern about his insurance status so I told him to give me a few minutes to check Angies list. When I checked the list there was only one review with an F grade. When he returned I told him I wouldn't be using his services at this time despite the good price he offered. He was frustrated and said they only post bad reviews from unhappy people. And that he wasn't properly represented on the list. Thank you Angie's list for saving me from potential problems and inconvenience!

We had a quote thru another service, but they could never give us a confirmed date, they just wanted to show up on their time which was unacceptable to us, we needed to be home for service and not last minute. That said, Mike showed up at our door (was in the area) to offer roof repair as he noticed a couple of shingles needing repair - also mentioned they did trees. I could tell of course they were not the big and fancy typical service guys with their own shredder (NOT) etc., but he gave a comparable quote and could do it NOW. And repair the couple of shingles on roof. So we accepted and went for it (we don't typically do that) They did a great job - if I had to make a suggestion, or a small complaint, I didn't like the manner they took the tree down, instead of topping them piece by piece they brought them down as a whole, which was scary. Everything turned out great though and they did a great job, cut up the large amount and stacked it nice for firewood for us and hauled the branches and etc. off for us since they didn't have a shredeer. If they had a shredder I think Mike could sincerely get a lot more business. Other than that, they did a great job, clean up was excellent and they were fast, very curtious, willing to negotiate, would tell us if he could not do something vs. saying yes than causing error. They worked VERY hard and I made sure that I'd give him an excellent reivew and referral, which we already had our neighbor do a small bit of work while here. Thanks Mike, I hope you continue to do good work and grow your business.

Mike rang my doorbell this morning and offered to cut up a medium sized tree that had fallen in my front yard. He said his crew was in the area and he would give me a good price. He seemed honest so I asked him for a quote on a bigger tree in my side yard that was dying and that would hit my the house if it fell. He quoted me $1,450 to cut up the fallen tree in the front, cut down the dying oak in the side yard as well as a 25 foot pine, and bring the trees to the curb with his backhoe and cut them up for firewood or disposal. I agreed to pay in cash. Well he doesn't have a "crew", nor a backhoe, he contacted an independent and they felled the tree in my side yard in such an unprofessional manner that I had to run out of the house after I heard one of the men screaming "Oh My God!" Turns out their control rope snapped and they had to scramble to secure another. The tree was supposed to fall in my side yard but instead fell across my street. taking out part of a neighbor's tree in the process. The neighbor ran out complaining and I assured them that I would have it taken care of. Mike did repair the neighbor'd\s tree but then used it as an excuse to con me into paying him in full before completing the agreed upon work. He said that he told my neighbor that he was doing the work for free to in order to relieve me of any liability in case they sued for the damage to their property, but that I needed to pay him inside my house now so the neighbors wouldn't know he was getting paid. After I paid him, he quit work and said I needed to hire someone to pull the tree out of my side yard and haul it away because he couldn't cut it up and take it to the curb. He told me he had someone who would do that as well as pull the stump from the felled tree for $500.00 Since I had already given him the cash and it would be four rednecks to me in an altercation I agreed. The guy showed up and stated it's $850 not $500 and it didn't include pulling the stump. I negotiated to $750 and the work is scheduled for Sunday. I'll write a review on this work latter. But this guy owns a backhoe and the other needed heavy equipment. A telling comment from the guy who's coming this Sunday is "Mike cleans gutters, really nothing more." I agree except he's also an operator taking advantage of the people who's doorbell he rings. Mike owes me at least $400 back.
