Description of Work: I contactedJack C. Glass Electric to assess and repair all of the wiring in a 1950-built house that I purchased out of foreclosure. I had found some electrical problems in the house but wanted the company to identify all that was wrong and to bring the house up to "code". The company Rep arrived on time and he was very couretous. First, he sat and talked with me (taking written notes) about known problems and to find out exactly what I wanted to accomplish. I was very impressed this. He did not make the usual "quick spend" through the house attempting to retain everything I said in his head. Next, he methodically examined the whole house with me assessing the known problems, providing the solution (sometimes multiple options) to fix the the problems and identifying other problems and issues and their fixes. He ensured that I understood each issue and my options to resolve each. All the while and once again, he made written notes of all the problems and my decisions. I was very impressed with his knowledge. He did not seem rushed and in a hurry even though I am sure he must have had other appointments. The company appears to be efficient in scheduling enough time for and between appointments. At the end, he reviewed with me from his notes the scope of the work I had decided on, gave me a price and we scheduled the work. The cost was very reasonable for the scope of the work to be performed. Scope of Work: Corrected 2 breakers from tripping, corrected 1 reversed polarity receptacle, added 1 switch, protected wiring with weatherprof flex, installed an exterior covered-lens fixture, removed quartz flood light & wiring, replaced 12 GFCI and 13 non-grounded outlets, repaired 1 non-working outlet, installed a hard-wired smoke detector, removed all exposed wiring, added a separate circuit for the furnace, installed a new washing machine outlet & a new refrigerator outlet & a new non-grounded outlet, re-fed 2 kitchen outlets, added 5 pull-chains & 5 light covers, corrected wiring to1 GFCI outlet, added 2 new circuits for GFCI outlets, installed 2 new stack switches, replaced 2 exhaust fans, corrected wiring in crawl-space, added 1 new sump pump receptacle, and, in general, cleaned up all old unnecessary wiring and junction boxes. The Technicians arrived as scheduled, on time. They too were very courteous and worked hard and tirelessly. The job took two 8-hr-days to complete and they even stayed til after dark on the second day to ensure everything was on-point. This was one of the absolute best experiences I have had with a contractor. I am very pleased with the work and their professionalism.
