Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing

Do not use Assured for plumbing issues. We had to have our main sewer line replaced. This is a big job, and we were told they would arrive first thing in the morning, but they did not arrive until about 3pm. They worked until 11pm, which is past our city's noise ordinance curfew of 9p and my typical bedtime. During the job, they accidentally pulled and disconnected our main waterline from the house waterline in the basement. They were unaware of this until I told them when I just happened to notice it when I went to lock the basement door. If I didn't notice this, water would have uncontrollably been spewing into our basement when they turned the water back on. They did a quick fix and left parts of pipe and materials all over the place. In addition, they disturbed our vapor barrier and tracked dirt all across our basement. We paid for a new line install, but they quickly realized that they could not excavate through the tree roots in our yard and ended up threading the new PVC through the shell of our sewer line (the collapse was right at the foundation), which doesn't require as much work. This should be a cheaper job. The grading they did was horrible, probably because it was dark when they were finishing. They didn't bring their own lights, and were working on pipes with their phone lights. I let them borrow my headlamps. We have a low point in our from yard which I had to fill with dirt because water started pooling. They left a gap between the ground and the concrete drain line along the house, which allowed water to seep to our basement wall, causing mildew/algae build up. They came back out and denied it was their work. I had a basement company come out and confirmed that the recent algae was due to their work. They admitted that the person who did the job is no longer with the company, which makes us feel even more insecure about the quality of the job done at our house.

It's pretty well. They've done great work. They're extremely knowledgeable. HVAC service topnotch. Got no complaints with them.

The amount I was charged was way overpriced. I made a mistake by not calling and receiving multiple quotes. I needed some plumbing done and was overcharged by Assured Comfort Heating/Air Plumbing in Douglasville, GA. They have ruined their reputation with me and surely I will not recommend them. A business doesn’t win from overcharging. I asked for an itemized invoice, I was told they didn’t do that. so, basically, they are charging what they want to. Different customer, different price, same service???? To top things off, the hot water was not turned back on. Service rep came back out about 5 hours later to complete the job. Did not apologize, turned it back on and left. Wow!! Double slap… lastly, the advertisement states that it is veteran owned. From one veteran to another, is this the way you treat a comrade. I am a very dissatisfied customer. Yes, I have called and let them know and filled out a review. I am sure it is some customers out there that they have given good service to… I am not one of them. Lesson learned… Just be alert

Beware! Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing should not be trusted, especially for plumbing services. I've been living in my house since it was built 13 1/2 years ago. Fortunately, there has been only 3 times I've needed to call a plumber. 1) To fix the garbage disposal 2) To fix a toilet and 3) To stop running water from the shower head in the master bathroom on Christmas Eve 2020. No floods, no water flow issues, no water heating problems ever in my house. I called Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing to simply stop the running water in the master shower on Christmas Eve. When the plumber arrived, I made it very clear upfront that my water operation should remain as is. This instruction was repeated multiple times, so he wouldn't forget. The water pressure and heat level has remained the same since buying my house in 2007. It's been perfect with no problems. After diagnosing the problem in the shower, the plumber said the cartridge needed to be replaced. He asked to see the water valve, so I took him to the room where it's located. He said a part needed to be replaced. After he gave me the price, I told him that's a job I can have American Home Shield warranty do. He was adamant that if I hired AHS to replace the part and the cartridge went bad, then they would not cover it. For this reason, reluctantly, I agreed to let him to do the job. It was Christmas Eve and I wanted to make this job easy as possible, even though I knew I was getting ripped off in price. The plumber said the part he was installing was higher quality than the one in place, but since the threads didn't fit, he needed to find the same brand and model as the bad part and install that one. I asked if the price would be reduced since the part being installed will actually be lower quality. He said the price would be the same as the better quality part. After the plumber completed the jobs, he said the water pressure was reduced to what is considered a healthy level, under their code and I wouldn't notice the difference. Not only did I notice a significant difference in the water pressure, I noticed that the shower handle was reinstalled, after replacing the cartridge, turning in the wrong direction. I specifically told this plumber, Chase, multiple times not to change the water pressure, heating levels or anything that would disrupt my house's current water operation set by the builder's plumber in 2007. He did not have my authorization to change it. If any job required changing this, then I would have canceled Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing from doing any jobs and spoke with some larger, reputable plumbing companies for additional opinions and options. I contacted the Plumbing Manager, Will, to report the unauthorized reduced water pressure and poorly installed shower handle. After leaving him two messages, he finally called me back. He was very agitated because I wouldn't let him talk over me. He didn't care about my concerns. All he wanted to do was convince me that the unauthorized job to reduce the water pressure would be great for my house, even though I have never had any problems in 13 1/2 years. He was rude, unprofessional and volunteered to send my $570 check back to me. Before writing this review and reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau, I took another step to try giving this small business another opportunity to fix the problems. I contacted the owner, Jerry. In our discussion, it sounded like he wanted to make things right. He informed me that the part installed on the water valve reduces the water pressure. The plumber did not advise me of this before replacing the part. Jerry said they would get a part that would help increase the water pressure and requested me to give him a couple days to call me back. After a week passed, I called twice. I spoke with Daisha who was passing my message to Jerry's assistant since he doesn't have a voicemail box. There was no response, so I called again and spoke with another lady who was passing my message to Jerry's assistant for the second time. Days have passed. There hasn't been a response from Jerry or anyone from Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing. I didn't receive the $570 check back. My belief was they kept the check because they were planning to resolve the issues 1) Replace the part on the water valve and increase the water pressure 2) Reinstall the shower handle properly, so it's turning in the correct direction. Nothing has been done. In my humble opinion, after speaking with others about my experience, I believe the plumber and leaders would have handled this differently if I wasn't a female owning the home. Of course, this statement is an opinion, but worth considering for any females seriously looking to hire this company for services. I highly discourage any homeowner seeking for a company with integrity and qualified technicians to consider or hire Assured Comfort Heating, Air & Plumbing for professional services.

I called in the morning to request someone come out to look at my toilet that wasn't flushing and my AC unit that's blowing hot. Assured said two different ppl would be out between 2pm and 6pm. After only 10 minutes I was happy to get a call from the plumber who said he was in my area and able to stop by immediately. I agreed. The first issue is he did not put on any shoe covers to view my toilet which is in the master bedroom going through carpeted floor. At any rate he went to the toilet, opened the lid and said , "Oh simple issue the tube is flowing water in the wrong area." He nudged the tube an inch and it worked. He said, "I hate to have to charge you $60 for a 5 minute check, but if I don't charge, they'll charge me". I decided to call the office to see if they would provide me a discount or lower the cost for the second person planned to look at the AC. The person in the phone was unwilling to do anything as far as price goes claiming they must charge a travel charge even though the plumber stated he was a couple of minutes away. The second ac technician did a good job. Wore shoe covers, inspected my unit, took photos. I decided to not move forward with them to fix my unit or replace it due to the high estimate alone. I would not recommend this company and will take my business elsewhere.

After I didn’t get a call back, I called last Friday to schedule the HVAC maintenance service and first Ibwas told that my account was canceled for non-payment, which was wrong. I made 2 payments on March 26th for $21 and $64. After the representative checked he admitted that accounting never bothered to remove the cancellation. Then when I was asked for an Appointment for Tuesday May 28th before I return back home to Florida, I was told that there was no appointment available, and when I suggested that since I have a lockbox with a key to the front door, I was told that company’s policy is that someone over 18 has to be present. Since they would not accommodate me given my situation, I was pretty upset and told them to cancel my maintenance contract. The whole idea of having a maintenance is to get a priority for appointments but that is simply not true.

It was a bit complicated, they replaced two units with one unit. They had to engineer some new duct work for the conversion. They were on time and professional. Worked late into the day to get the job done.

They very responsive, they communicate well , a very good company and I am satisfied with their service.

The employees were very prompt, professional and courteous. Service was great and it was evident their knowledge was superior.

Lane came out to do maintenance on our heating system. He was on time and very professional. He explained everything after he was done and gave us recommendations on what he felt needed to be done. We decided to get an estimate for adding a second system to our basement. Lane put us into contact with a salesman before he left. Mike was able to come out the next day and give us a free estimate with different options. Every person I have had to interact with from this company has been friendly and professional. You can tell they care and know what they are doing! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone!

Willard was wonderful! He showed up, explained what he was going to do and explained the issues I was having. Very informative and didn't try to just sell me something. I'll use Assured Comfort again and again!

Travis arrived on time, and was very professional. He showed us before and after pictures and recommended different filters for our system that would better suit our family's needs.

We had a great experience with Assured Comfort for our seasonal tune up. They focus on the customer and provide a detailed description of recommendations. They took the time and it was clear that they provide a thorough assessment of my systems. And I have to mention that I looked them up and was really impressed with their dedication to the community and giving back. This company cares for its customers and community. We've used other companies in the past that it was clear just wanted their fee and wanted to sell me everything they could even if I didn't need it. I highly recommend!

We have a contract with them. We like them and they have good quality. It wasn't overpriced. They respond very quickly. Once they couldn't come but they called us right away. Somebody had an emergency. But that was fine. Things happen. He was really good.

I've had them for years. They've been coming to my house for a long time. Servicing my heating and air systems, maintaining them for a long time. Overall, they're not an A and they're closer to a C than a B but I don't want to give an in between. Kind of a B to C is really my experience with them. In December of last year, they came in and inspected my units and informed me that both of my heating exchangers were leaking carbon monoxide and I had to buy two brand new furnaces. After that my several items on the new furnaces like my humidifier didn't work. They cross-wired the humidifier and I had to have them back three or four times to get that resolved and they had to put a new switch in which costs me more money. Then when it came time to turn the air on connected to the new furnaces, my air didn't work. So I had to go with another air conditioning company who came out and told me kind of the same story they did, my air conditioner was broken down and they couldn't actually fix it. So I with a different unit with said company at that point and had a train in air conditioning system for the one that burned out. So I've bought two new furnaces and I bought a new air conditioning system because of the mishaps I had with Assured Comfort with the two new furnaces. After breaking down and spending three or four nights, several weekends without heat right after I bought brand new units, I was not happy with them. I wasn't happy and it wind up being a bad switch but I just bought a whole new system I'm like goodness I spent a lot of money, I don't expect to sit here in the cold. They're usually pretty good it's just when you have a big replacement like that, I've had one air conditioner replaced with them years ago and had to come back to putting a bigger unit in so we wind up having to do another revisit with that first experience with them and then that experience in December with multiple revisits. I wasn't real impressed. I went the other company in May after they're last visit. They came out confirmed the diagnosis so I got a second opinion. Then I let them put in a new air conditioning system, a new train in system and I've had no problem with the training since so with this company, no revisits since. I'm more happy with the new company now. Assured Comfort, the price is probably a little higher at least in my experience recently their price is higher. Most of the time during the week when you call them they come right out. I know when my brand new units broke down over the weekend I wounded up spending the weekend in the cold so their responsiveness on the weekend is not so good. Ninety percent of the time they were right here to work on anything that was broke. They're here when they say. They're pretty good fellows when they're here and they tell you whats broke but they just don't always get the repair right the first time.

Although we did not end up going with Assured Comfort, I did want to give them a very positive rating. The sales guy who came out was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to answer all our questions and they quoted us a similar price to their competition. If something does not go will with the company we are using, I know who I will immedietly call next.

They came as promised. The one apartment they came that day, and they did the service. We were happy with that. Nothing has changed. If I have any more issues I will be using them. They told me what day they would come, and they showed up on the same day. They give me the arrange of time, and they are here.They were polite and professional.

We have a maintenance agreement with them. They installed the original system and it's done a good job for me. The workers are always professional and try to hit the time window.

They were very professional. They called before they came. We ran into a little issue with duct work done when house was built but they took care of it(no charge). I would recommend.
