KEITH'S HANDRAILS AND STAIRS INC.

I called their shop to inquire about building and installing new stair railing on our front stoop and steps of our home. We had the stoop and steps redone and had to cut off the old steps and dispose of them. We emailed them a photo of the type railing we wanted and the quality of the finish. After calling several times and discussing the job with their project coordinator, I had an uneasy feeling about their abilities. He stammered and waffled about details, schedules and organization. They promised to get details from a company who had performed the work in the sample picture we sent (out of state company) and to obtain details from the powder coater they were going to use. They never obtained these details and I had to call these vendors directly to ask the questions myself. I had to call back Cory numerous times to get an answer. When I asked about a price, they wanted to raise over a priced quoted 2 months ago. They finally said they would honor the original price. I had asked them multiple times to provide a written guarantee of the work before anything was started and I was always promised that would happen via email in a day or two. It never did. When I called on Thursday Oct 16th and pressed to schedule a measure of the railing at our home, (the consumer is pressuring the vendor to get the job started in these difficult time of construction downturn) Cory said, he needed to organize the next week and would call me back mid morning on Oct 13th. After I didn't from him for several days and based on their history of having to be constantly followed up on, I moved on to another vendor. If they acted like this when they wanted my money, how would things be after they had it? A week later on Oct 20th I received a call from Cory at 8:40 am saying he had a guy available to measure later that day. No mention of why no call back last week or any mention of never sending the written guarantee of work. I told him I haven't heard from him in a week and I had moved on to another vendor. He didn't know what to say.
