Description of Work: Installed light in high ceiling (widows peak). Light later fell but chain kept it from hitting floor. They came back but you could tell there was a gap still I had another vendor fix it for me where they installed a piece of wood inside and across the peak so more screws could have something to attach to.

Description of Work: This service was a "Big Deal" for two hours of electrical work. The work consisted of rewiring several electrical switches, rewiring a fan to allow for one switch to control the lights and the other switch to control the fan, to install a new specialized dimmer switch in the home theater and to repair an exterior light that was not working. The latter task required a significant amount of rewiring to get power to the fixture. The technician was hard working and very professional and I would not hesitate to use the firm again. A very worthwhile "Big Deal"!

Description of Work: Michael was terrific! He actually came early (after calling first!) because he'd had a cancellation. The job involved installing three ceiling fixtures over my kitchen island ... but was WAY more complex than it sounds, because the original electical installation (my place was built in 2008)was so jerry-rigged it had stymied two other handymen. Will definitely use this company again!

Technician arrived on time and was very efficient. We live in an old house and most of the wiring is 'ancient'. He was able to install the new fixtures without issue. He was very helpful and offered ideas for other areas of the house without trying to up-sale. We look forward to working with them on future projects.

We know little about how to accomplish the things we wanted them to do. We we're also a bit apprehensive because of a questionable review. The fellow was on time and comfortable. We explained what we wanted done. His estimate was a bit more than we'd expected or should I have said "wanted" but we agreed. He accomplished all we requested timely in spite of a power outage. We we're impressed and will not hesitate to contact them again

Once my walls were furred up, I called and scheduled a date for the electrician to start work on my basement. As the start date neared, I called Ways Electrical but was unable to get in contact with Mr. Huff because he was continuously unavailable and did not return my calls. I asked to speak to the owner but was not allowed to. Eventually I finally got in contact with Mr. Huff and told him I wanted to review my requirements to ensure there wouldn’t be any surprises when the technician arrived. I even faxed him another copy of my basement layout, which I had initially provided him. He told me not to worry and since he would no longer be doing the install he was going to send another senior installer. He said the senior installer would call me to schedule a walk thru of my basement to ensure all my requirements were known prior to the job commencing. My project start date arrived and the technician arrived. However, Mr. Huff had not shared my job requirements with him and the technician ad to leave to go and pick up materials. The technical was very skillful and worked extremely hard. But, this job was too large for one individual to finish in the one-day Ways Electrical had allocated for my job. As a result, the technician would leave and I had to call to schedule other appointments for him to return. I again called and tried to speak with Mr. Way but was unable. Ways Electrical eventually sent another technician to assist this individual with wiring my HVAC. As the technician neared completion of my basement, it was time for him to install my whole house surge protector for which I was being charged 600 dollars. I noticed he installed a Syscom Hardwire Surge Protector in my electrical panel in less than ten minutes. Subsequently, I researched and found out this model could be purchased new for 69 dollars. But, in order to receive a certificate of occupancy for my basement I needed to obtain copies of the state licensed sub-contractors who worked on my basement. I called Ways Electrical and they finally let me speak with Mr. Way about obtaining a copy of his license. He was rude and abrupt with me. But, they did eventually send the license to the county office. Because of being ignored by personnel whey I called Ways Electrical and the harsh tone of Mr. Way, I spoke with the home improvement store manager and submitted a complaint to their complaint office about the unfairness of being charged 600 dollars for 69 dollars surge compressor. I received superb support from the home improvement store manager who eventually refunded me 600 dollars. For this I am thankful. In conclusion, the on-site technician was skillful and professional. But, it was obvious Mr. Huff did not share any of my requirements with the technician. In conclusion, this was a very frustrating process. When I became dissatisfied with Mr. Huff’s support I tried to voice my concern to the owner but was not afforded the opportunity. Customer service was extremely poor.
Description of Work: In Summer 2010 I took out an owner’s building permit to finish out my basement. In addition to carpentry, painting, flooring and HVAC, I needed to have electrical work accomplished. Therefore, I coordinated electrical services through a home improvement store and the electrical subcontractor assigned to provide me services was Ways Electrical. Shortly thereafter, I received a telephone call from Mr. Thomas Huff and we coordinated a time for him to stop by to perform a site survey and estimate. Since I took out a building permit, the work would need to take place in two phases: 1) Once my walls were furred up the initial electrical would be done in preparation for my rough inspection, 2) Following rough inspection and completion of walls and ceiling, the remainder of the electrical work would be completed. We walked through my basement and I identified electrical requirements such as light fixtures; tamper proof outlets, GFI, HVAC connection, smoke detectors, cable outlets, and telephone jacks. There were numerous items Mr. Huff told me not to worry about. Since he would be the installer he would take care of it. Once we finished discussing these items, I asked Mr. Huff how much it would cost to have a whole house surge protector installed. He told me he could install it for 600 dollars. I did not question this because I was not familiar with the price of whole house surge protectors.
