I picked up my computer on 8-31-13 , went home, hooked it up, and prepared to use it. To my utter dismay, everything was erased--all my data documents files and my pictures were gone. I had a lot of important information that I wished to save on my hard drive. I was aware that I would lose any other programs that were installed, but I was told that my data files and photos would be saved. I had also purchased a set of speakers from them because they told me that they had hooked up speakers to my computers, and it now had sound. He sold me a pair off of the shelf (no box), but when I tried plugging these into the computer, all I got was a loud buzzing noise, but no sound. After numerous attempts to listen to music, still nothing but the loud buzzing noise. I called them back that evening and they asked me to bring it back in then or that I could bring it in on Sunday because they were open. We went to church on Sunday and Monday was Labor Day Holiday. My husband took it back in on Tuesday, 9/3/13, and said he (Store Mgr. Jason) acted a bit snobbish (personal opinion). They called me back, stating they were unable to recoup any of my files. My husband and I went in to pick up the computer on Thursday, 9/5/13. After a long discussion with Jason of seeing what they intended to do because they had lost all my files, he said that when he talked to the intake technician (Robert) he told Jason that I had told him I didn't want to save my files and just wanted the FBI virus removed and diagnostic test done. My husband said that there's no way we would have told him to erase the files, given that they were important to keep. Robert had originally written down that I wanted the files by writing down the code: OSR II, but then this was crossed out and underneath was written in OSR. Had I known their code system, I would have objected, but being a 1st time customer, I had no idea of what their codes meant. We went back and forth on what the company was prepared to do. Jason said that they were unable to give any refunds, but that he would give me the cost of the diagnostic fee ($29.95) back in the terms of a credit. I told Jason I didn't want a credit because at this point, I would not be bringing any more of my business to their establishment. I then requested to talk to the owner. Jason told me that it didn't matter if I spoke with the owner or not because he was the one in charge and whatever he said was the way it was going to be. He dialed a number and said he was calling the owner, could not locate him, and then called the owner's wife. They had a very long conversation in front of me, but I couldn't hear what she was saying to him. She told Jason she would try to locate her husband and have him call back. The owner called back about 5 minutes later, and Jason took the call in the back of the shop and they talked another 3-5 minutes. I told him I wanted to talk to the owner. Jason told me that the owner said he would not talk to me. My husband and I then asked if the owner would be in later, and Jason said no. We asked what time he would be in on Friday, and Jason said he wouldn't be in Friday or Saturday or all next week (week of 9/9/13). At that point my husband and I left, stating we would catch the owner when he was in the office. Since I had received such service, I felt I was entitled to receive a cash refund instead of a store credit, which I have no intentions of ever using, so it's just like them not giving any compensation at all. In spite of their stated "No Refund Policy" and to keep good customer morale, I think a refund was in order, since it was their mistake. You would rather lose customers over $29.95, and think that is more important than to keep happy/satisfied customers coming into your store. Instead of accepting that they had erred on their part, Jason kept trying to prove that I was the one in error and that I had stated I didn't want my data saved. At one point he said that I hadn't even paid for the service, of which I told him that I had paid with my credit card when we initially picked up the computer. When he flipped the paper over, he saw that it was indeed paid for and apologized for that. He said that he had replaced the speakers I had purchased from them because I said they weren't working. I asked if he tried the speakers and he said he had, and they worked. But then he admitted that he had also just gotten a loud buzzing noise, which is why he replaced the speakers. When I first took my computer in and observed the equipment that was available for sale, and the talk with the owner prior to leaving my computer, I had made up my mind that this would be the place to give my computer business to. They seemed reputable at that point. HOWEVER, GIVEN THE SERVICE I RECEIVED AND THE NON-ATTEMPTS TO REGARD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AS A #1 PRIORITY, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND WILL TRY TO PERSUADE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO DO THE SAME. THEY HAVE VERY POOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, PROFESSIONALISM IS NOT IMPORTANT TO THEM, AND THEY DO NOT TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!!!! P.S. The name they now go by is COMPUTER SOLUTIONS, INC.; 741 ATHENS HWY, LOGANVILLE, GA (678-639-1234).
Description of Work: The provider was to remove an FBI virus from my desktop computer. The technician (Robert) explained to me that he was new on the job (2nd day) during our conversation. He asked me if I needed to save any information; i.e., data files or pictures or anything. I told him that I didn't have anything else that I would like saved, but I did want to save my data file documents and pictures. He supposedly wrote that down. Then I said I also needed for them to check my sound card because I thought it had been hit by lightning or something because it didn't work. The owner said they would perform a diagnostic on it and would also clean the computer. Prior to this conversation, I had talked to the owner and told him that I had been passing by his business, saw the signs and decided to stop in. He informed me that he had been in business for nine (9) years and had never had any complaints, which I thought was pretty good and they could be TRUSTED. I knew that my other program files would be gone, but Robert assured me that the data files and photos would be saved.

Dismal results. They botched the files restoration and now they can not find my records. I will end up with my laptop with a new operating system and no files.
Description of Work: My Laptop comuputer was performing irratically. PDG performed diagonistic service for $29.95 and told me that I had a virus and they would have to reinstall the operating system. They would save all my files and put them back on the computer. The computer would be back to me by May 5th before I went on vacation. They did not load my files back on the computer as promised. They did not complete the work on May 5th. It is May 14th now and they still have my laptop. They have lost all my photos and can not restore them.

Major hassle read above.
Description of Work: I purchased my desktop from this merchant approximately 2 years ago. It developed malware and a virus. I took it in to have it cleaned up and my files restored. An employee named Jim noted that I had an older version of Photoshop and would I like a newer one installed at no charge. I said sure. When I got home and tried to use Photoshop, I was advised that this was an illegal copy with a trojan attached. I had to take it to another merchant to have the program and the virus removed. I talked to the owner of PCg and he said it was not the policy of the store to install pirated software. They also installed a newer version of Office and would not provide me with a key to register it. I would have to bring it back and have the original version installed that I purchased with the computer. This has been a nightmare. I will never use them again. I have since disputed the $129.95 charge.
