One worker arrived, and I doubted he could do the work alone. However, he did a great job. As a courtesy, he hooked up our new dehumidifier.

I had a leak around the pipe going out to the septic tank. The leak was ground water seeping through the pipe opening back into the basement. Murrell's chiseled around the pipe to make an opening, then injected a substance that expands and closes the gap to prevent the leak. Their price was right, and the tech was on time, professional, and efficient, finishing in about 30 minutes. I'm very satisfied, and would recommend them to others.

From the moment we closed on the house we began experiencing leaks. We would contact Murrell's of the problem, they would come out and do patch work which lasted a couple months only to have new areas of leaking spring up. We dealt with this issue for over 2 years without any resolution of our problem. This waterproofing material is not a roof which was explained to us by a roofing company however it was applied to our house to serve as a roof. It was simply waterproofing material over plywood with no flashing. The material works fine on concrete but not plywood that expands and contracts. Murrell's never took responsibility for any of this. We ended up having to hire a true roofing company to put a new roof on our house at a cost of over $13,000. Needless to say, we would never recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: In 2009 we purchased a house with a flat roof in which Murrell's had applied a waterproofing coating over plywood. Not only was this material applied over plain plywood, but no flashing was used around the edges of the house. Needless to say, this began a 2 year long battle between Murrell's, myself and the builder who kept casting blame between each other without ever getting any resolution. We the consumer eventually had to eat the loss by having a proper roof installed at over $13,000.

Though the first contact resulted in being placed on a waiting list, due to their high volume of service calls, that wait was no more than a few days. At that time, a representative from Murrell's called to schedule an appointment. The following day, Dave promptly showed up, inspected the basement wall, and immediately diagnosed the problem as a leak originating from the entry point of the main water line. In a truly professional, but friendly manner, he provided a detailed estimate and a planned repair date. Like clockwork, that next Monday morning the Murrell team member arrived on time, spent 40 minutes in the basement removing the old caulking, injecting the new high-tech foam that formed a water-tight barrier on the exterior and providing a lock-tight seal on the inside, and finished up by graciously cleaning the water stain from the basement wall. All of this for the promised fee of $375!
Description of Work: Repaired a leak in the basement wall, which was diagnosed by the Murrell rep as originating from where the main water line penetrates the basement wall and enters the house.

They came out the next day, offered to perform service on spot with 100 discount. I waited until next week, called, they came next day. Took about 1.5 hours, they were clean, professional, and explained how their process works (very similar to other providers). The did NOT try and upsell me with and quot;3 packagesand quot; of and quot;good, better, bestand quot;. They simply noted what needed to be done and did it. I would absolutely use these guys again. I had another estimate that was in line with Murrell's, but Murrell's was much more prompt.
Description of Work: Sealed 2 cracks in basement for a house I was selling, and sealed the sewer line entry point. They came out and explained that these were very common problems, not structural issues, and easily fixed, which set everyone at ease. Price estimated was in line with one other provider, and about 1/3rd of the provider that advertises regularly on radio and other review sites.

The water main was leaking into the basement. They were prompt and responsive. Water was still coming in to the basement a week later, and they came back out to repair it. 1 1/2 months later, upon returning from vacation, we found a huge water leak where the water main comes into the house-- this was on the exterior of the house in the same spot where the interior was leaking-- the water meeter was spinning. I called Murrell's back, but they did not answer (this was on a Sunday). I called a plumber. I did not leave a message with Murrell's as I had to get it fixed immediately-- water was bubbling out of the ground at the leak, and my water bill was $650+. I can't say for certain that there was a leak on the exterior prior to them repairing the interior (twice) as it was not checked. Murrell's thought that the leak was on the interior of the house. I feel like they should have made sure that the water main was not leaking on the exterior instead of only fixing the leak on the interior of the house. I had to pay a plumber an additional $500 to repair the exterior leak. But, hindsight is 20/20.
Description of Work: Our basement was leaking, and they repaired the leak on the interior of house.

After living in our home for approximately five years, we developed water problems in three places in a finished basement. I called in a number of firms. Each seemed far more interested in how much I would spend than they were in solving the problem. One wanted to charge $12,000 to replace the foundation drains, As I talked to others, I came to realize that the symptoms of the problem did not indicate drain problems at all. Another wanted to dig up all the yard drain pipes because they were too small. Other companies I called said they were more than large enough. I had a bad feeling about all of them. I kept trying. I found my way to Murrell's on Angie's list. Mr. Murrell, the owner, came out. He is an old-school gentleman, who just listened and inspected for the first half hour. Then he said ... your gutters are too small, the downspouts need to connect to your yard drains, the outlet for your yard drains is getting backed up because it's under water in heavy rains, and you have two cracks in the foundation that probably happened in settling, and it just took the water time to find its way there. I made the changes he suggested, his people made the yard drain connections, and sealed the cracks with a polyurethane injection process. I spent a fraction of the money that I would have with the let's-see-how -much-we- can-get-this-guy-to-spend people. Except for one small dampness problem that was really a grading issue (which Murrell's fixed at no charge just because they had worked in that area) we've been dry through multiple downpours. Once you hear all the big estimates from the big companies, I suggest you call Mr. Murrell. He'll tell you the best way to solve the problem, not the most expensive way, or the way that creates the most business for his company.

They were professional and responsive. They proposed a solution which matched exactly where the water was leaking and made sense. Their approach was 1/4 the cost of the competitor who wanted to apply a generic trench solution. I will have to wait for a major rain to see if this was successful - but it makes sense to me - an engineer.

Our basement was having water seepage issues, that was not covered by our flood insurance. We called Murrell's Waterproofing (recommendation from our general contractor) and had them come to the house and give us a quote. We had also received quotes from B-Dry Waterproofing and Trotter Company, prior to Murrell's coming to the house. They both quoted $5000 to rip out 30 ft. of drywall and put in a cement gutter system (price did not include replacing the drywall). When the owner Murrell came out, he said we didn't need a new system as our house already had one. He recommended simply to patch up the hole, which will then re-route the water flow into our existing gutter system. And he (the other 2 companies didn't even bother to investigate the source) also identified the source of the water seepage, which was coming from our front yard. There was an area where you could feel the ground was very soft. Murrell's intial quote was $950, but when they came out to do the work, it wasn't as "intense" as he thought, so he only charged us $500. So to say the least, we were very pleased with the company's honesty and pricing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Pleasure to work with.

They arrived when they said they would (even early!) both for the inspection and the work. It took about 30 minutes to repair the crack (which was about 2 feet long) because they had to wait for the epoxy coating to dry before applying the elastic epoxy in the crack. They cleaned up everything!
Description of Work: They sealed a leaking crack in my basement. They had performed the initial basement waterproofing on my new construction house; they were prompt and very punctual when dealing with them to repair the leak under my home warranty. They used an elastic epoxy (not the technical term!) to fill the crack and allow the concrete to continue to expand, as is normal. I will definitely use them again for any basement issues. Troy, the representative who visited to inspect the crack for the quote, was very helpful and informative about basement related issues (how to minimize mold, what signs to look for in concrete cracks, basement humidity issues and ways to control/improve it, recommendations for considerations when building out the basement, and education about the foundation drains). Always glad to find a helpful, courteous, and punctual expert for home issues!
