I will break this review into 3 categories: Price, Product and Customer Service. Price: The quote I was given was about $100-$200 lower than their competitors. I figured I would go with them as I was working on another project at the time and figured I could spend that money elsewhere... It was just gutters and leaf guard, and my take on the situation was this is something they do for a full time job so they should have it down (ehhhhhhhh). Product: A few issues here 1. They installed a black gutter guard on a Linen color gutter. Looks good from a distance, but I have black streaks running down the face of the gutter... not too happy about that, but maybe that's just something I should accept. 2. The GUTTER GUARD they installed (the slotted type, not the smooth curved type) should be renamed LEAF RETAINING STRIP. Why might you ask? Well it takes the leaves that fall on my roof and arranges them in a vertical position, thousands of them! Pretty annoying and ugly. I have to get on the roof and pick the leaves out by hand as the blower only removes a small amount of them. This is really an issue during fall, only 3 months of the year but maybe that's just something I should accept... but not for what I paid. 3. They showed up to install my gutters as I was getting ready to go to work, and the installation continued after I left. As I was driving out of my neighborhood, I remembered I wanted to point out the location of a downspout. I turned around and as I was walking up I noticed the gutter section they just installed was twisted , pointed It out and Mr. Rogers couldn't see what I was talking about, one of his two installers did. Thought to my self "Oh great, its going to be one of these jobs.... SIGH". I mean Gutters 101. 4. When I got home it was dark, so I went out the next morning to check out the gutters. Up front, the twist was fixed. Out back, SIGH. One downspout went through the deck I just installed a couple years ago. When explaining the downspout locations I pointed that out and told him I would cut the hole, he said something like this "We do this type of thing all the time, we got it", to which I said okay. It looked like they cut the hole with their eyes closed using a dull chainsaw (most likely not the case, but you get my point). 5. The deck downspout was not installed on the wall in-line with the cutout in the gutter and the cutout in the deck, so the elbow that drops back to the wall from the overhang was noticeably twisted, same with the elbow going through the deck. I called Mr. Rogers back to show him and he could not see what I was talking about. He got aggravated with me, whipped out his tape measure, took a couple of measurements to try and prove me wrong (one of the measurements was at arms length, eyeballing the eave about a foot behind, not too terribly accurate). My response was to grab a level and a square (pretty accurate) and show him that is was out of line. His crew fixed it. 6. Of the three downspouts in the back, the middle one was installed lower than the ones on either end, probably 4- 6 inches. If you stood on the corner of the house and looked down the back side you could see it. Gutters 101. They fixed it. Customer Service: 1. I didn't appreciate his abrasiveness, maybe he is just a grumpy guy, and I get that, but I don't think that's how you should handle customers (even when they are wrong). 2. His two guys seemed nice, as was his wife. 3. They came back to fix the issues the next day. 4. I asked Mr. Rogers to install one of the three downspouts on the front of the house to accommodate future upgrades to the exterior veneer, he explained to me that I might be awkward looking, but he did it. He didn't explain that the hole for the downspout would be cut 90 degrees from where they would normally cut it, leading to a series of contorted fitting installations. They changed some fittings around and made it less awkward. This was done without additional charge, even though it was my request. Bottom Line: I wouldn't hire them again. There were too many mistakes on this job for somebody who is in this business full time. Bad Craftsmanship.
Description of Work: I hired the contractor to install seamless gutters and leaf guards on my house sometime around mid summer. Mr. Rogers' wife was the one I dealt with on the phone and she was very pleasant to deal with, professional and courteous. Her husband came out to do the quote while I was at work, so I didn't meet him until he showed up to do the job.
