Description of Work: I purchased this deal because, we need to have our driveway replaced. Unfortunately, we can't have our driveway replaced at this time so, we are waiting until Spring. The Owner of the company came to our house to measure and, provide a quote. He was wonderful and, responded very quickly with, a quote. We definitely plan on using him to, replace our driveway and, sidewalk.

Description of Work: All in all, an amazing experience. Phil was incredibly knowledgeable and helped to guide us to an amazing backyard renovation. We had an 80ft retaining wall put in, along with under-deck patio and railroad-tie stairs which will eliminate our erosion issues. Additionally, sod was installed in both the front and back yard areas and it looks amazing. Phil was incredibly helpful in laying out all of the options during our evaluation. This gave us the knowledge that we were making the best budget-friendly choices. I would use Sod Sales Direct again in an instant.

Description of Work: He gave me a quote for $4470 for a stacked stone wall. I paid him half upfront so he could order materials, which were delivered to my house. When he finished the work, there were two pallets of stone left. He is trying to take the stones that were unused saying that they are his, however I paid for them, they were the materials that I purchased. The work was done by one of his laborers and was wonderful, but it was not done by him.

[member name removed], I am very disappointed that you have given me a bad review. Since we are neighbors and I didn’t have to travel far to do the job I gave you a very good deal. First of all I would like to point out that on the very first day we started the job Antonio my mason called and said that we had to extend the footing because it was to small to hold 7 tons of stone. So I provided 20-80 bags of concrete, rebar, wire ties, additional labor of $150 to correct the footing before we could even begin. $300 and I never asked you for a dime! Also, since we were neighbors I never charged you for the flagstone caps on top of your existing wall, 68 Square Feet @ $12.50 =$800 plus the footing $300= $1100, no charge to you.. Go figure! Don’t believe me? Go out and measure the wall. It’s 34 feet long x 4’ tall, 136 square feet, and 35 feet long x 2.66 feet tall = 93.1 square feet. Add them together and you get 230 total square feet. That’s what I charged you! I should have heeded the warning when you called me and said that you just received 2 new credit cards and I should come over to sign the contract and run the cards for the 50% deposit. Well was I surprised when you gave me a Haverty’s CC and a Macys CC to use as the deposit for the work, both of them showing invalid card when I tried. The job was delayed for another week until you found your American express card and we ran it successfully for the deposit. ( also you refused to pay for the upcharge for the card fee, which is a big expense that is usually paid for by the customers who choose to use a CC) This is how I see it: 1. Our signed contract stipulates exactly what we were hired to do. Here is the exact wording of the signed contract; 2. “We will provide 230 square feet of medium dry stack stone to match the large wall in the front yard. This project is for the wall face of 230 sf and cap the top of the wall with medium flagstone to match the top of the large wall in the front yard. Labor and materials are included. All cleanup of our stuff is included.” The unit price is $19.43478 for a total of $4470. 3. Just above your signature is a bold statement on every one of my contracts that says: “ASSUME NOTHING, be safe, discuss any questions BEFORE you sign this agreement! “ 4. You do not have a receipt for the stone and mortar delivered to your house, and therefore cannot claim any of the items left over. 5. This past Thursday July 17, when we talked on the phone you told me that you were very happy with the work we did. Again yesterday evening July 18 around 6:30 pm you told me again that you were very happy with the work. Literally, minutes before I called you to see if you were 100% happy with the job, last night at 6:30 pm July 18th, you had my mason repair the wall in the front of the house which had rocks missing, Free of charge again! Within minutes afterwards I asked to collect the balance of $2235, you refused because you wanted the left over rocks In closing as your neighbor, I ask that you pay the balance of $2235 for the work completed, You have to know that you received a very beautiful stone wall for a very fair price! I wish that I could include a picture of the wall so that everyone reading this can see that we do great work for a fair price and that my customer service and customer satisfaction is top priority. Please pay me the balance $2235 and I can move forward to another waiting job and you can enjoy the beautiful wall in your yard! Description of Work: Business must be good, because Phil didn't want mine. I called to set an appt to get a quote for a full yard re-landscape job. He was busy and asked me to send him an email with contact info. After I didn't hear from him for two days, I called him again. He apologized for missing my appt. I advised we hadn't set one yet. He advised that he would cone out in four days. I followed this up with an email and asked for an ETA for the appt. He gave me a one hour window. When appt time came, he was a no show. I received no call or email from Phil. Two additional days have passed and I have yet to hear from him. The lack of organizational skills and responsiveness earn this contractor an F grade.
