We asked them to handle mold in our crawl space, to replace drywall on the back wall of garage. We were trying to sell our house, there was a For Sale sign in the yard, a realtor let them in the house, and they did it while we were on vacation. They were supposed to start on Monday. They didn't end up starting until later in the week. We came home on Sunday to our house a mess. Our house had been shown twice like that and of course no offers came from those showings. They said they finished on Saturday, July 4, and could not get a clean up crew. However, they had all week. They at least could have called us to tell us it was a mess so we could have sent family or the realtor over to straighten up before the showings. We came home on Monday to the owner yelling at us, having a total fit he had not been paid yet, and upset that I was upset they had left the house a mess because it was a holiday weekend. He ranted and raved that he did mold remediation, and most mold remediation companies would have charged $6000, but he only charged us $4200, and we got a good deal. My husband paid him, but he did not give us a receipt. Since we were selling our house, we needed a receipt to show the work had been done. We called Mr. Eades multiple times, and so did our realtor, but he would not send a receipt. A year later, we tried to sell the house again, and still he was uncooperative. Finally, he did issue a receipt, but it was not for the correct amount. It was for $2700, when we had paid him $4200. He had to drive by our house so he could remember the job. He told our realtor that he did not do mold remediation at our house. What?!?! So we were overcharged and lied to, he did not do what he said he did. Because of all this, I had to pay $300 for a mold test to satisfy the new owner, which thankfully turned out negative. That would not have been necessary if he would have given me a receipt showing mold remediation had been done. Further, the spot on the back wall where I had asked him to replace drywall, several months later we had to fix for the new buyer, and found out he had not replaced drywall, and in fact he had not even used Kilz paint. He just painted it with regular white paint and let me think he was taking care of the problem. We had them add downspouts from gutters to prevent future problems. The front downspout they did worked great. However, in the back, they did not place the downspout where I asked them to, which was in the middle of a screened in porch that already had a gutter downspout at one end. Instead, they placed it at the opposite end, 15 feet away from where I asked them to install it. It did not help the water problems, not even one tiny bit. I called Mr. Eades multiple times to come and fix the mistake and put the downspout where I had asked him to put it, but he ignored all my calls.
