Mike is the best! I cannot say enough good things about our experience.We are preparing our 13 year-old home to sell and had a number of miscellaneous repairs to be completed. I reached out to Mike though Angie's list, and he responded back to set up an appointment time for an estimate and arrived as promised. Mike is understandably in high demand, so he was very up front about when he could get an estimate back and delivered as promised on that as well. He worked us right into his schedule and completed our entire list and much more in the time he estimated. It was so nice to have him dedicate time in a block to knock everything out all at once. He arrived when he said he would and focused on our job the entire time. Mike completed a number of different things for us to include: installing a new kitchen sink/faucet, installing a new toilet (he even picked it up along with other materials for me at Home Depot and provided receipts), installed an interior door, patched our roof, repaired bee damage to front fascia boards, removed an old storm door and repaired the entry trim, painted the front door/shutters (even hung up house numbers for me), repaired back door, fixed the gutters so they were more secure and drained properly (even cleaned them out while he was up there), replaced outdoor GFI outlets, sheet rock repair for cracks in walls and ceiling, and the list goes on! Mike was great about pointing out potential problems that he saw with his trained eye, and we just worked them into the list!Mike does fantastic high quality work and all according to the original estimate. He explained everything as he went and answered all of our questions. Everything he worked on looks new again, and he cleaned up meticulously as he went. I have no doubt he can fix anything! On top of the professional work and demeanor, Mike is so easy-going and pleasant to work with that it was a joy to have him around for four days. He didn't even mind our not so friendly 130 pound dog and our sick little three-year-old. He was very patient and flexible, and this frazzled mom cannot thank him enough for that!If we end up staying in this house, we will definitely call him for some remodeling work in the kitchen and bathroom. Give him a call. You will not be disappointed!

Loved this guy. Had 4 handy men in my home over last 4 weeks - getting ready to sell house. Mike was the best of them, he fixed shoddy work the others left behind. Hate to move after finding the perfect handyman. Best way to sum it up is high quality at good price. Bath redos are his speciality, but I think he could do almost anything watching him solve my french door sealing issue. Nice guy, great dry sense of humor, even the dog loved him. Attention to detail, conscientious, wants to get everything done right. He stays busy, but told me when he'd be free (within a few days), got me in his queue, & called right when he said he would after finishing with other client, and stayed multiple days with me until he addressed everything I wanted. Shows up on time daily, meticulous with cleaning up - other handy men left their garbage bags in my driveway. If I was staying in ATL I would never call anyone else.

Mike explained why he was hesitant about coming over to give me a quote to tile the area that had already been prepped. He explained that it's best for him to do a tile job from beginning to end so he knows how well the prep was done. He is very confident at what he does which is great! He said he would come over to take a look at the situation and decide if he wanted to take on the job. I decided to not waste his time because he is absolutely correct in wanting to start and finish the job so he can take responsibly of the final product. He sounds very knowledgable and honest. I appreciate that he took time to respond to my email explaining his opinion. I have plenty of other projects around the house that I may ask for quotes on.

Project went great and on time and budget. Mr. McShane listened to our every concern and paid gret attention to even the smallest of details. This is our third home improvement project with this company and we will definitely use him again in the future.

It took a while to get the quote, it took them over a week. The guy was fine, he explained thoroughly what he was going to be doing and how much time it would take. He came out, did a thorough measure, went up to the attic to check and see if there's low bearing walls or anything. The quote was quite high and it would take them longer to do the job. He did a good job on giving the quote.

Mike is a delight at every stage of a project. Pleasant and professional, a clear communicator and a fair dealer, very easy to get along with. Runs an amazingly clean job site. Every time he's here we are happier than the last. We've reached the point where we don't even ask anyone else for a bid. Mike is our guy now. We've scheduled a major renovation with him for spring. Scheduled, you say? You'd better believe it. On big jobs he's booked months in advance, and it's easy to see why,

Mike is particular, and everything he did in the house was done well. He was willing to take the time to show me how to do a few projects myself, and I have no qualms recommending Mike to other homeowners. Mike takes his time to make sure things are done right. I'm sure there are other contractors who are quicker than Mike, but his work product is excellent.

Mike was very detailed and thorough in the completion of this bathroom. He did an excellent job of cleaning up daily. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a bathroom remodel.

Never heard from this company

Mike came out and repaired carpenter bee damage to our Fascia board on the front of the house. This included caulking, sanding and painting the damaged area. He replaced a section of rotted wood on our Soffit and did the necessary priming and painting to match what was already there. He also repaired a drainage line going from the AC unit in our attic to the exterior of the house. He was on time and did the work within the time he estimated upon arrival. His work was top notch and I was very pleased with the end result. He took the time to do it right and cleaned up all of the areas impacted before he left. I would not hesitate to contact him again for additional home repair needs.

Mike did an excellent job! He was very friendly and punctual for the job. He found more damage than we initially thought was on the chimney and worked a day more due to that. Otherwise the time he estimated for the job was accurate. I appreciate good work and will use his services in the future. The only issue I had was when I initially reached out to this company it took about a week or more to get a call back. I would definitely recommend his services to others. I am a pretty picky person and I was very satisfied.

Fantastic experience overall. He didn't pick up my call at first so I left him a voice-mail saying that I needed a new kitchen faucet and waste disposal unit installed. He called back within about an hour. I asked him what his pricing was for the jobs that I requested and he told me that each job was a flat $75. I found the price agreeable and he had an opening for an appointment the following day at 10:30am. He arrived right on time at 10:30am. He completed the job in under 2 hours. My home did not have a power plug receptacle underneath the kitchen sink for the waste disposal as my previous waste disposal unit was wired directly to the switch. Mike had an extra receptacle available so he installed it for a small fee which was later discounted for my "First-timer Angie's List" discount. Mike answered any and all questions that I had during the course of the installation. We made some small talk and I found out that Mike had been in the handyman business for 21 years! He is up-front and honest about what he can and cannot do.I often like to watch these kinds of installations as they are done so that I can learn something from the experience. Mike didn't seem to mind my hovering over him and asking questions. Suffice it to say, I learned some new things about plumbing through Mike's explanations. Oh, and he really does clean up after himself. If I had to describe Mike's services in three words, they would be: Reasonable, honest, and clean! Verdict: Call him! He has earned himself a spot on my refrigerator door for sure.

Mike showed up on time for the initial quote, provided a quote quickly, and told me when he would be available to start. His quote was not the lowest, but he wasn't the most expensive either. Mike knew what he was talking about and gave us lots of information about what we needed even before we hired him. Once we hired Mike he provided us with precise and accurate information about what we needed to buy and where to buy it. He showed up when he said he would each day, and cleaned up really well before he left every day. The work he did was beautiful - he's a true craftsman! We will definitely call Mike for our next project.

Mike promptly returned my call and was able to setup an appointment quickly. He fixed the plumbing and pulled up part of the floor to assess if there was any damage. Thankfully there was no damage on the floor that needed to be repaired. I appreciate his expertise and attention to detail. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. I would definitely recommend him, and look forward to working with him in the future.

We have used Mike previously, so we did not hesitate to call him again. He was able to fit us in several days after I called him. He arrived on time, and did a walk-through to look at the various jobs we had on our list. He began with the easy jobs, then went to Home Depot and Lowe's to buy materials for the other jobs. He was able to identify a leak in the plumbing near the water heater and fixed it quickly. He installed insulation to an attic door, and repaired a broken exhaust fan vent outside. The size of the old vent is no longer available, so he adapted a new vent to fit the hole. Mike has an wonderful easy-going manner that makes us feel as if no problem is too difficult for him - he will figure it out. We find him to be so pleasant and easy to work with that we will continue to use his services and recommend him to anyone.

Mike was on time and got right to work. completed the job quickly and cleaned up. He made a good personal impression and we will definitely call him again.

We had our bathroom remodeled more than a year and a half ago when shower head began to leak. A valve needed to be replaced but the the original tile company tiled in most of the the valve and the only way to replace it was to make a 5-inch hole in the center of the 12x24 tile. Previously, we had a tile company representative from a large company come out and take a look and he was afraid that he might break the tile. Then, we contacted Mike McShane of McShane Home Improvement and he assessed the repair and increased the size of the hole for easy access to the valve and then replaced it. We were very pleased with Mike's professionalism, promptness, and the quality of his work.

We were so pleased with Mike and his work! He was here for a little over 5 weeks. Mike works alone, and what a hard worker he is! We were totally satisfied with his work, and his suggestions on design and colors for our new bathroom. And it looks so beautiful!! My husband and I are thrilled that we have found our "go to guy" in Mike. It brings peace of mind to know that our bathroom is finally put together correctly. We will only call Mike when we renovate our master bathroom.

All the jobs went well - even when surprises showed up (pulling off sheet rock and see that the builder screwed up the framing for example) - Will use him again, many times over I'm sure.

We could not be happier with the work that Mark did for us. He was very responsive, professional and his work was flawless. We could not tell that the walls had been cut two feet from the floor around the entire space. He also reworked some shotty workmanship from a previous contractor in our tile shower and landing and did an incredible job with it. Finally, his pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. We will definitely use Mark again for any other projects around our house.

It went incredibly well. The bathroom is perfect and actually looks bigger than we even imagined it could. Mike was very prompt and worked a full day. As a result, everything got finished before the anticipated timeline. We are very pleased with Mike's work, his attention to details, his professionalism, and overall, work ethic. We enjoyed working with him. He was extremely trustworthy (extremely important), his prices were fair and we will definitely hire him again.

Mike reached back out to me quickly. He came out the same week to install a new mailbox and he did a great job! We hope to hire him for future projects within our home. Thanks Mike!!

Professional and honest. Punctual and considerate. Job well done. Mike cleaned up well and was very transparent when it comes to fixing my leak in the shower.

I called Mike on Monday to look at my shower floor tile, which was broken -- and he was very responsive saying he could come that Wednesday to fix it. He left a message Weds. at 10am to verify that I was home, so he could come over -- but when I called him back at 10:30am, he told me a company he has a contract with, needed his help now, and he had to cancel. I was very disappointed as I waited two days for him to come, and now I must wait another few days to get someone else...

The work that Mike did on our bathroom exceeded all expectations. From the very first phone call to the very last transaction made upon completion of the job, he handled it with professionalism, punctuality and quality. He kept us in the loop regarding the progress of the job and gave us input on every aspect of the project. Not only does he do quality work, but he also takes tremendous pride in the finished product. He strives to make his client happy and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. While working on our bathroom remodel, I asked Mike to install three new faucets which he gladly completed. My husband and I are so pleased with Mike's work that we have asked him to come back and do a back splash in our kitchen and change the tile floor in another bathroom. It was such a pleasure working with someone who does quality work at a reasonable price. Trust me, if you hire Mike, you will be pleased with the quality of his work.
