I actually have used Duffy Home Inspection twice now, and I am very glad I did. Duffy was recommended to me by my girlfriend so I called him up and set up an appointment. Duffy arrived actually arrived early for our appointment which was nice because I was early myself. Once we introduced ourselves the fun began. Let me state that Duffy very much encouraged mutual interaction when it comes to his home inspections. He took the time to explain absolutly everything he was inspecting, why it was wrong, and possible issues that could arise. He inspected every inch of the home and left no stone unturned. I must say I was a little overwhelmed and fried after the inspection because he gives you so much information. I really had my mine set on buying this house but after his inspection I had to terminate the contract. I would call Duffy the "dream killer" when it comes to home inspections. I do not say this in a bad way, in fact that is what you should have when it comes to a home inspector. Buying a house is a major investment and with any investment you want to have all of the facts before you commit. Duffy's inspections give you those facts so that you can make a sound decision when signing 30 years of your life away. After canceling that contract I eventually found a much better house that I liked a million times more. However, I knew I should go through the inspection process again, so I called Duffy back. He went through the same process again and he was just as meticulous as before. With this house he did find some things that needed to be addressed but every house is going to have some issues. I have been in the house now for a few months and I couldn't be happier. If I hadnt used his service and bought the first house, I dont think I could say that. I can only imagine how much additional money I would have spent trying to fix the problems. As of this post the first home has still not sold, there might be a good reason for that. All inspections went great. Although the news wasn't always what I wanted to hear. He is very personable, always on time, and does great work.
