Provider committed to performing the work on a certain day and then backed out. In response to our complaints, they sent over the materials and left them on the porch. We had to purchase the wood stain. Provider sent 2 (well-intentioned) workers who worked with no supervision and the results were never reviewed by the provider. The door is too heavy and hung improperly so that we have to lift the door to latch it. The door knob is now loose because of than entire side of the job is unfinished in that there is no caulking against the siding so that it is open - negating the value of having it screened in. We have contacted the provider numerous times and have repeatedly been told that we are moving up on the list... for the past 6 months! The workmanship is medium but the project is incomplete and the provider absolutely unresponsive. We would not recommend this provider.

They did good work, but the customer experience wasn't very good. The best part is very good work, that was done with good quality. But the worst part is the front office management scheduling, getting workers here on time, and even asking for our money for the last payment before the job is completed.

We hired them after getting quotes from several contractors and DeckPro seemed like they were the most sound company. The one that would get it done and cause the least amount of issues. Boy were we wrong. A 2 day job ended up taking up MONTHS of our time trying to set things right. When the crew came out, they unloaded all the wood and equipment and started working. I went down to double check the plans were correct with the guy in charge on site. The plans were not as I had specified or as Frank had quoted me for, the stairs were much narrower than I had asked for (they were just making them based on standard stair depth and I had specifically asked for and had been quoted for deeper stairs), so I had them make the changes to the plans while I was there and before they continued working. After about 4 hours they packed up and went home for the day, which was the first thing that irked me. In the contract I was having to pay for 2 full days of labor because I was told that it would take that long to build the stairs. But yet, after 4 hours, they had all packed up and had left. I went to take a look at their work and found that they had continued on with their original plans and had NOT taken into account the conversation I had with them earlier. The framing for the stairs were standard stairs, and not the custom depth I had asked/paid for. I called DeckPro and spoke to them about it. They apologized and said it would be fixed the next day. But instead, the following morning I had ONE person from the crew show up to my house to retrieve the tools they had left on site and then he left. When I spoke to DeckPro they said that the stairs were fine and that I was causing a fuss over nothing. I showed them the original contract signed by myself and Frank Sr showing the measurements that were agreed upon and then showed them pictures of the framework on site to show that they did not match. They never came out to the site to see it for themselves. So now I was left with framework for the wrong size stairs, the rest of the decking wood in piles all over my back yard, and the off cuts and trash from the previous days work were everywhere. DeckPro refused to come back out and fix the stairs, or even finish them until I paid them the rest of the money. I had only paid $500 of the $1200 contract at this point. I finally told him to keep the $500, I'd keep the wood, and we'd call it even. I didn't even want them back after that. They agreed, but this was after several months of correspondence. Please don't hire them, and if you do, do NOT pay much up front. Better yet, just don't hire them.

I reviewed this company earlier this month and since then things have become even worse. My job just is not getting completed. But the worst is they ran my credit card for $2500.00 WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. In fact, they were expressly told NOT to run it, with one reason being it would put me over my limit. (I have learned now to pay all businesses with a check.) I trusted Angie's List to provide me with a good contractor, but it appears bogus reviews ramped up their rating. Today we found they are rated "F" with the Better Business Bureau of Atlanta. I learned my lesson the hard way. A am cancelling my membership with Angie's List, as I have had other unfortunate experiences with their member businesses.

They only guarantee their products for a year. After 1 year I called because I was having problems with the railing around the porch. Parts of the railing had snapped off. I called them 3 or 4 times and spoke with someone different every time I called. They said they were too busy to deal with it and that my warranty was up. They said if I wanted to have someone come out to look at it there would be a $75 charge. If I wanted them to fix it then I would have to pay $800. I asked for a manager to call me back but nobody ever did.
Description of Work: A few years ago they put in new brick steps. I also had them redo all of the railings and everything around the front porch.

They did a good job. The quality of work was good. They showed up on time. They did a pretty quick easy job. They replaced a board and needed the deck stained. The guys were really honest and they said they focus more on the construction and they would have been happy to do it and gave me a quote and told me it would probably be cheaper to go with someone else. I have one board is splitting a bit not sure if I will have to have it replaced or what but other than that it is fine.

Was verbally quoted 3-4 weeks once the old deck was removed Work stated on June 30th and the job was completed on October 30th, 4 months. The job started by Deckpro showing up un announced and delivering materials. Materials were placed in driveway and yard without consulting the customer to determine the best location. Had verbal converstations with salesman about what we wanted the deck to look like, deck design was done on a piece of paper at the job site without any review with the customer. Crew would show up between 10:00 and 10:30 and leave by 3:30 - the job site was 5 miles from their office Month of September Deckpro was on site for only 18.25 hours, there were 128 work hours in Sept. After months the customer had to clean up the yard, 7 piles were consolidated into 2 piles - materials and trash. Since the job took 4 months and the yard was basically barren of any grass requested a courtesy power wash 4 times, it was never acknowledged. We had two project managers during this project. The first one was on our job for about 1 month. It was then transitioned to a new project manager who never visited the job site. Customer had to call in constantly to ask questions about the work being preformed and ask for updates. The salesman who sold us the job did not preform a final walk through once the project was completed, this was requested numerous times. ETHICAL ISSUES - contract was setup so payments would be made when certain milestones were meet. Deckpro asked if they could run the 3rd payment prior to work being completed. They were instructed not to run the payment as the work has not been completed. Deckpro management decided to run the payment through anyway, disregarding the customers response and the contract language. This is also being reported to the BBB.

We had this company install a very large deck on our house. Company showed up as promised and the timing on how long it took was great. They sent two separate crews from my understanding. The first crew who I did meet built the frame of the deck installing all of the posts and supports. The second crew did the rails and finish work. I did not meet the second crew. I've had several other vendors out for different things over the past year. A few of them also do deck work. They have said that the base of the deck does look fairly good. They wish the very tall posts we have were straighter, but overall the under parts of the deck look fine. The finish work on the deck was terrible. When they came back for the punch list we had them replace a number of the rails. Many of them had been so poorly drilled that entire chunks of the wood were missing. They came out within a few weeks to do these repairs and we had them repair everything we could see as novices. So many of the holes for the spindles were super rough with splintered and shredded edges. They said that's just how they always are. They didn't seem interested in replacing all of it even though I wasn't super happy with it. As time has gone on it's become very apparent how poorly the finish work was done. Many of the screw holes were filled with interior wood putty that has dried and crumbled out of the holes. One of the railings fell apart and it turned out it had never actually been screwed into the support post. When I called them they sent someone out while I was not here. Their person said it looked like we had kicked it out. They wanted $75 to come out and screw it back on. I had it fixed today and the company noted that there were no holes where screws had ever been in the post or in the rail itself. The rail had never been secured on that side. It had just been pushed in tightly enough to not immediately fall out. The gate(Which we were not charged for) was so poorly built it's started coming apart completely. The company I had out to fix the deck today found out they had not secured the post the gate was attached to into the house. They had used short screws and drilled into our siding only. So, the gate was pulling the siding away from the house as it's fallen off. The gate itself was done as poorly as all the rest of the finishing with a poorly cut wood piece that they put a ton of wood putty in to hide the fact that it wasn't cut well. The wood putty has fallen out as the door has come apart. I would never recommend this company. Really seemed like a nice owner but we're very disappointed.

Response to [removed member name] We finished this deck over a year ago. [removed member name] called in just before her warranty expired to replace broken railing. Frank went out to see the railing and the breakage and the damage was due to a child jumping on the railing and kicking it. We offered to redo the railing and fix the board from the abuse for a nominal charge, but [removed member name] said she would have her handy man fix it. We cannot warrant self damage.

It went pretty well. I would give it an 8 out of 10. The quality of their work was good. They did a very nice job and they were creative in planning our deck. They were timely. The problem with them was just in communication. They didn't communicate the plan very well and then we had some questions as the process was going on that made us think they were doing it and not listening to us. Really it was just their process that we didn't understand. Everything we wanted got done but the communication about how it would be done was lacking. The price was fair.

Please take this review seriously. When we hired them we saw a review of "F" and the sales person explained it away. He was so believable and nice, but not truthful. I promise you this company is not reputable. They do not do what they say they will do and their workmanship is horrible. We had to have another company come out to the tune of $5000 (over 1/2 of what we paid Deck Pro) to fix their shoddy work. Ultimately we had damage along our house where the deck was. Frank took NO responsibility! Many of our issues with this company: - Frank does not do what he says he will do and takes no responsibility for his crew and craftsmanship. - The crew worked 5-6 hour days so it took them way longer than it should have taken. - They left the place a complete mess during and after construction. We ended up with several large bags of their trash. - They said they were done and yet we went out and only the parts of the deck they could reach were painted - I guess they were short on ladders that day. They had to come back several times. It never looked great and we just got tired of asking them to come and paint. - One time Frank claimed he came out and took a look at the work, but when I asked him a specific question it became apparent he never actually came. There was no misunderstanding, he just flat out lied to me! - Our first main issue was with our railings, as they began to buckle after a few months. Frank tried to say it was b/c our 30 year old deck was settling. I feel sure that happened like 20 years ago! After lots of back and forth with Frank he just said he was sorry, but our deck settling was not his problem. So, I had to call 2 other deck companies to come out and both wrote up quotes indicating it was caused by the workmanship of Deck Pro. For my last ditch effort I presented the quotes to Frank at Deck Pro and he FINALLY agreed to come back out and fix it. I should not have had to of gone to all that effort for him to want to make our deck right! - Several months after the railing drama we started having water issues/damage so we called Frank out again. Ultimately after chasing him around for months, he chose to send us a text message that he was not going to do anything because it was all preexisting conditions from our deck not being level. Funny how when you put a level on the deck it shows level, yet he says it's not level and the damage is not his responsibility. We have water damage at the door going into the bedroom. We later discovered that water was leaking all into our basement and mold was starting to grow. We called a different deck company to come out. They came and $5,000 later they had pulled up all of our deck boards and realized Deck Pro had not replaced the flashing around the house - hence the leaking into our house and all the damage. Plus the deck boards were so close to one another the water was creating a lake on our deck - it would not even drain, making the water stand. The other deck company was shocked at the poor workmanship of Deck Pro. They just shook their head the whole time they were fixing what Deck Pro screwed up. Please take heed and do not use this company, no matter what kind of story the sales guy at Deck Pro gives you or what response is given by Deck Pro to this review. They may say they have never heard of us before. They may say they never heard from us with these issues and this is a complete surprise to them. They may say they did our deck, but we are just lying. They may say none of it is their fault and our house was bad construction before they ever got here. No matter how they try to say this review is not true please let it give you enough pause that you just use someone else. I would hate for one more person to have to go through what we did.

I have responded to this before. The project was putting new deck boards on their 30 year old frame and support. We recommended that they replace the support and framing, but it was their choice not to at this time. The leak was a previous leak as the wood is all rotted by the door. We serviced the customers several time and explained where the leak was from and how to get it fixed. It was not caused by us replacing a deck board where one had already been.

I bought the sales pitch from Frank who disguised himself as a gentleman and a professional at what he does when he first entered my house and boy do we regret it. They don't show up when they say they will, and when they do they bring their kids and wife to the job site! One of his so called carpenters actually brought his wife and kids into a work area to put up sloppy drywall in my bathroom. Frank Sr. says that his guys are superstars, yet he sent his bench warmers to work on my bathroom remodel. Over and over we got apologies and excuses for the job not progressing and people not showing up. On one occasion we shortened our Christmas vacation because they said they would make it there the day after christmas– no one showed up and no one called. He threatened to quit the job on two occasions and when I was on phone with him complaining about the most recent no show, he hangs up on me. No show-no call, that is the Deckpro way. Spoke to Frank this morning and he said it doesn't matter when they show up as long as they get the job done. They are doing neither. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch, we put our faith, money, time and trust in this man to complete a bath remodel that was supposed to be a wedding anniversary present. I fired these deck rookies. This is not who you want to do business with. Do's: Get it all in writing with these folks, I mean everything including when they plan on finishing, who will show up and when, and a line by line accounting of every thing to be done with a specified cost. Don't: They don't care about your property and treat it like a trash bin, protect your carpeting and walls on your own. Don't: Allow them to use your bathrooms. They have bad aim and leave a mess. Don't: Allow Frank Sr. in your home. He over promises and severely under delivers.
Description of Work: They were hired to remodel my master bathroom as a wedding anniversary present for my wife. After two verbal threats from this contractor that he would quit the job if we don't stop complaining, I decided to fire DeckPro. Their handy work includes an unsecured wall, a shower with the wrong type of sheet rock in it, unfinished drywall and a surprise last bill that they decided to pull out after a contract was signed. They get you to sign a contract with a schedule of payments and the work to be performed with those payments, yet if you fire them they pull out a new set of rules that you didn't sign off on, yet they expect you to comply with. Frank Sr., the company mouthpiece, talks a good game yet the crews that were sent out to our home were clueless.

The job was an indoor job putting up walls and sheetrock and sanding, the dust is bound to travel around the house. The debri from the job was taken outside and we do not pick up trash everyday, but once or twice through-out the job and at the end. I did apologize for the children it was the day before Christmas and they were going shopping. He did get into trouble, children are not allowed at job sites. We were there when we said we were coming, they however said they were going away for the holidays and did not tell us they came back early for us to work on their bathroom. The plumbing was already put in with the cabinet size from the customer, and then he changed his mind and went with a smaller cabinet and the plumbing had to be redone to accommodate it. Of course we are going to charge for a major change and he refused to pay for the plumber to redo all the work. So we parted ways and at that point he still owed money on the work that had been done, so we sent him a bill and it was settled.

They were great. Frank & co. came out while I was at work, and talked to my mother. Frank gave her a ballpark verbal estimate of $1,000 and said he would email me a written estimate later. After a couple of days I got the written estimate, which was for $1,200. I had to go out of town so waited a week or so before responding. They called a couple of times to make sure I'd gotten the estimate and to ask if I still wanted to have the work done. They weren't pushy, just wanted to let me know they were interested in the work and ready when I was. Finally, I talked to Frank who basically agreed to split the difference on the price. It was really great not to have to take the day off work, because my mother felt perfectly comfortable with them. We called on the day the job was scheduled, because it was pouring rain, but they said they'd be there. I was told the job may need to extend to a second day, but by the time I got home I had beautiful new stairs. I had solid-back risers, instead of the open-back stairs I had always hated; the main stairs are pressure-treated pine and the railings are cedar and match the rest of my railings nicely; and somehow they managed to make my stairs less steep without increasing the footprint. Each stair is also wider, so they're easier to step on. The stairs are not painted, but I plan to have the guys back to do it in a few weeks. There was no mess left and I was able to pay over the phone (they asked that if the job extended to a second day, that I pay half the price at the end of the first day, but that wasn't necessary in the end). My only minor complaint is that I still haven't got a receipt for my payment... but I do have bank records of it so I guess that's fine. I would recommend them to others and I will probably use them again in the future.

It went pretty Good. Salesman Richard was knowledgeable and provide us a drawing and estimate at our first meeting. We agreed on the contract and work began as planned. Nick was the crew leader and did a great job with the radius curve. They accommodated any small request we had and were professional. The work fell little behind when Nick wasn't around but wasn't a big concern as they did finally finished everything we asked for. Some suggestions will be to improve on the trash collection from the job and using tarps to keep the dirt dug for footers as that did damaged my grass. Overall, happy with the job performed.

I had left three messages for [Member name removed] on her answering machine to please call because the owner had an appointment already the next evening and I needed to schedule them on another evening. I tried calling everyday at different times, but no one answered. I sent an email after a few days and did receive a response that she had no messages from us, but the phone number that I called was correct.

Project went extremely well despite weather adversity. The crew was knowledgeable and extremely proficient. Frank Fore provides these guys able support - and rewards them appropriately. The crew was comprised of all Americans, who all grew up together and worked extremely well together. They were exceptionally polite and courteous throughout the project. I have nothing but good to say about their whole operation.
Description of Work: Demo old deck and rebuilt upper deck to specs and added a new underdeck.

My stairway bannister broke in mid Feb. I went online and after a bunch of false starts, trying to find out how to find someone to fix it, I was able to gather a short list of potential repair companies. I used Angies List as well as other sources to try to determine who might be best. I sent emails out to 5, and got responses from 3. Deck Pro was the only company to respond within 24 hours. I contacted Deck Pro because of the quick response and the good reveiws I read about the company . A sales rep came out at the end of Feb. An estimate of repairs for the bannister, as well as replacement of the attic stairs was given at the end of Feb, total cost being about $550.00. There were a couple of complications discussed at this meeting; the bannister was metal and would need to be sent out for welding, and since I work full time, arrangements for as much of the work as possible would need to be outside normal hours. For example, having the bannister picked up one evening, and replaced on a Saturday. I was made aware that this was possible, but that both projects would probably need to be done at the same time, to save travel issues. I was fine with that. I was asked to put down $1.00 to hold the estimate and did so. Several weeks passed, so I finally called the company, and spoke with someone. He was clearly unhappy to be contacted. After considerable hemming and hawing about late working hours, he finally gave me a date and time for him to come and remove the broken metal bannister to take for repairs the next day and retun on that Saturday, when I explained that the bannister was attached by 8 screws. He did not want to talk about the attic stairs until after bannister repair. I made certain I was home well before the time someone was supposed to arrive. No one arrived. No one called to explain or set a new date. No one answered my calls. Months have passed, because I got busy and was not able to keep calling back. Today, I finally did so, and spoke with a nice apologetic lady who said that the company did not do welding and that just after the estimate was given to me, the company instituted a minimum charge of $880.00 to do something. She said I should start contacting other companies. So. I am no longer impressed with DeckPro. I have had a broken bannister since mid Feb, had a broken repair date, and now, the company no longer can do anything for me. No one contacted me to let me know of the change in policy, either, whe it happened, apparently shortly after the visit from the sales rep. And now, I get to start all over again. DeckPro's lack of customer service, even to just call and explain why no one showed up for the appointment to pick up the bannister, or to tell me the company policy had changed and they could no longer provide the work due to the change, does not speak well of how they view their customers. If someone had contacted in March or April to let me know they could not do this, I might have had the repairs already done.
Description of Work: NO repairs were done by the company. I only spoke with the sales rep and several different people on the phone.
