With 5 men, the move took 17 hours (the estimate was for 22 hours, so the move cost a thousand dollars less). They picked up on Thursday and delivered on Friday. All were hard working and no one shirked responsibility. The team leader/driver, Joey, was awesome. He communicated well and went above and beyond. Tipped each man $50 at the end of the second day--I only say that for those who are confused about what to tip movers. It was a little under 5% of the total cost, but seemed fair and well-received.
Description of Work: Moved my belongings from a 4BR home in Buford to a 5BR home in Alpharetta.

The three movers arrived on time. They cleared the contents of my apt. within an hour. We then (I rode in one of the trucks) proceeded to my new place in midtown. Once again they were fast and efficient. I was unloaded within an hour. The entire moved was over in three hours.
Description of Work: Berger's moved me from Buckhead to midtown Atlanta. I had 3 movers. They were punctual, fast, efficient and professional. They moved the contents of my one bedroom condo to another one bedroom. I did the packing except for my 50" television. There was not any heavy duty wrapping on my furniture due to the short nature of the move (I assume).

The first day (Sunday) the packer arrived in Atlanta. He was by himself but he worked very hard. He had all the supplies he needed in his van and took great care to pack fragile items with plenty of cushioning. I was very pleased with the packing. The next day (Monday) the movers arrived to load the truck. Since I was in the city they brought a small truck which they said they would trans-load into the big truck in their yard. There were two movers and the truck driver/supervisor who would drive my stuff to Cincinnati. She was very nice and kept track of all of the boxes and stuff by lists and sticker with numbers. Loading only took about three hours with some very hard working movers. They took great care to wrap furniture in blankets and taping everything u to prevent damage. I was especially concerned about my couches since they are very old leather couches that scratch easily but they wrapped them completely up. They had plenty of supplies and had all of the tools needed to do the job. When the truck arrived in Cincinnati (Wednesday) they were right on time. Unfortunately the crew with the driver/supervisor was only three people who asked where the elevator was. I explained that there was no elevator and they were not happy, but got to work. Since I could only be in one place, I stayed in the apartment and checked items off the master list of tracking numbers. It was a hot day and I had water for the crew. They had to take a lot of breaks, which was perfectly acceptable given that it was 70 steps upstairs. What I did not realize until it was too late was they they were unwrapping furniture on the truck before taking it upstairs to reduce the weight and avoid having to carry the blankets back down. They also found a guy on the street that they paid on the spot to help out. As a result a handful of things got damaged, but primarily they really scratched and scuffed up my leather couch. The other items damaged were relatively minor, but could all have been avoided if the items had remained wrapped up until they were upstairs. I placed a claim (I bought the insurance as part of the move) and they sent a leather expert to my house who repaired the couch. He did a very good job. Overall a positive experience, the only minuses were the size of the crew in Cincinnati was too small despite letting them know several times that it was a tough location, the unwrapping incidents, and the guy they paid to help from off of the street.
Description of Work: I got a new job in Cincinnati and needed to move from Atlanta. Since work was paying for the move, I needed to get three proposals to do the work. Berger was not the cheapest but they had the advantage of local offices in both Atlanta and Cincinnati so I would be dealing with only one agent, which avoids the blame game if something goes wrong or gets damaged. The move involved the contents of my loft/condo in Atlanta to a new rental apartment in downtown Cincinnati including packing. This included all furniture, my substantial, heavy, book collection and some other misc. items. Based on advice I read online, I moved all of my electronics, computer, small collectibles and remote controls myself with a u-haul trailer. My Atlanta condo was on the ground floor and had only a few steps, the new place in downtown Cincinnati was on the fourth and fifth floor of an old restored building with no elevator, which I made very clear from the beginning.

They were the cheapest! They gave me the boxes for free, nobody has ever done that. They were very professional, nice, and courteous. I felt very comfortable having them in my house and I would recommend them to everybody.
Description of Work: They moved 10 rooms, our entire 2,000 square foot home, 6 and 1/2 miles in Atlanta. They did not help with packing. Everything was moved safely.
