Went very well. Tony from day 1 was nothing less than professional and polite. His crew showed the same professionalism as he.The quality of work was as there name 1st class. The floors in the house were 60yrs old and made them look like he had just installed them. The work they did was flawless and I would recommend them to anyone needing hardwood floor work done. We have told everyone what a great job these guys have done . Thanks Tony for a job well done. .

1st Class is the appropriate name for this company. Their professionalism is 1st class; as is their superior knowledge about proper installation of hardwood. Our finished floors and stairs appear to be one large piece of beautiful oak. There are no visible seams. None! These men, Tony, Ross, Jeremy and Charles, are gentlemen worthy of praise in every facet of their work and mannerisms. They are meticulous, conscientious, and efficient. Tony makes sure they start every day with reflection and prayer. Having them in our home for 4 days was like having good friends who dropped by to install flooring and stairs. They are cheerful, joyful, laugh- out- loud comedians. Tony explained every facet of the job. If there was an existing flaw they were unable to correct, he wanted us to see it and know why it remained. Before leaving each day, every scrap of material and other trash was removed. Their dustless sander is truly dustless. If you want 1st Class work done by 1st Class professionals, do not waste time obtaining quotes from other companies. 1st Class Flooring is the only company you should hire. Our job was started 4 weeks after we received an estimate; and was well worth the wait. For obvious reasons, they stay very busy. If you are able to be present during their work, you will receive an added, no charge bonus. They sing while they work.

Tony and his crew did an outstanding job refinishing my floors. My floors look gorgeous. They were very meticulous about their work and took pride in doing their job. Tony was very patient while I was trying to decide on a color. I went with a custom color that he mixed up for me. Ross had to hand scrape around the spindles on the stairs and he did a great job. Jeremy did a great job sanding. I was very surprised and delighted by how little dust they created while sanding my floors. Their vacuums do a great job. And they were very good at removing what little dust there was before applying the finish coats. There was no grit or trash in my floors. They are so smooth. Tony convinced me to go with a Super Matte finish. I was a little hesitant because I did not want a dull finish. He put down some samples on the floor so I could compare the Satin and the Super Matte. There was very little difference in sheen. Tony said that the Super Matte was more durable so I went with it. It is perfect. The floors have a nice warm feeling with just the right amount of sheen. They finished putting the final coat on my floors at 2pm and I was able to walk on them by 4pm. There was very little odor. I really like the water based finish that they use. I would recommend 1st Class Flooring to everyone who wants a quality job done by professionals. These guys know what they are doing. They show up when they say they will. They clean up after themselves. They are very polite. They worked hard to make sure I was pleased. Tony, the owner, was there working too and he always kept me informed and made sure I was happy every step of the way. And best of all my floors look so beautiful! I am happy that I researched who to use on Angie's List. I was not disappointed with my choice.

Based on Angie's List, I arranged for Tony and his crew to come to our new existing home to provide an estimate for replacing carpet in 3 bedrooms and closets with matching hardwood floors. They provided me with an accurate estimate at that time for their labor and priced the flooring as well through their primary supplier - Millwood Specialty Flooring. Because our closing date and their work schedule was booked out for 4 weeks, we agreed for them to return with matching hardwood samples two weeks before the installation date. When we accurately matched the existing hardwood, the cost of the pre-finished hardwood was nearly double the initial estimate. On my own, I researched Bristol red oak pre-finished hardwood prices throughout the Internet and could not find it available and delivered for a cheaper price than through Millwood Specialty Flooring. Although the cost of the matched wood was higher, their installation cost never changed. On the scheduled date, Ross and Jeremy arrived at our house on time and began the removal of the carpet, preparation of the flooring surface, and laid hardwood for 2 1/2 days. They were extremely knowledgeable and meticulous about their work and how the hardwood needed to be pieced together to look the best. Everyone in the family, including some construction designers, who saw their work were impressed with the result. Because it was an existing home, we did have to repaint the baseboard to remove any marks caused by their installation equipment but that was understandable since most times they lay floors in new homes before the trim is installed and painted. Overall, we were very impressed and satisfied.

We had recently purchased the condominium and do not yet live there. So we scheduled the carpet tear out and plywood subfloor installation to occur the last week of June. Because of other commitments, we scheduled the installation of the new floor to begin July 29th when I could be back in Chattanooga to inspect the work as it was in progress. 1st Class Flooring showed up as scheduled for both the tear out and hardwood installation. The work was done by the owner and his two employees in a professional, cheerful manner. Several minor issues came up requiring decisions to be made about how we preferred the finish details and the details were done as requested and at the price originally quoted. At the suggestion of 1st Class Flooring, I decided to pre-purchase the hardwood as the price for the material was increasing each week. I paid the supplier directly. The material was delivered to the condominium about 2 weeks before the installation was to start to acclimate to the environment where it would be laid. 1st Class Flooring uses a dustless sanding system which minimized the cleanup required at the completion of the work. The job was completed a day early and at the quoted price. The floors look wonderful - it was a job done as planned with the results meeting all expectations.

On the day of the estimate Tony, Ross, and Jeremy were standing at my front door waiting on me. All three went through the house making measurements and inspecting all the work needing to be done. The next day, Tony had me an estimate that I accepted. The team began work the day we requested. All work was done in a timely manner. The team called whenever they ran into an issue that needed my attention. They also kept me informed of their progress. All three took great pride in there work. When Tony gave me the final bill, it was very close to the estimate I was given. I would and have recommended 1st Class Flooring to others who see our beautiful, new hardwood floor. All I have left to say is that I love my 1st class floor!

The short version: I'm one ecstatic customer that now has gorgeous floors. The long version: I had called Tony on a Saturday morning a week or so before he and his crew started working on my home. He was doing another estimate at the time, but said he'd call back when he was done. He did, and he also came by later that day exactly when he said he would. He took measurements, listened to what I was looking to have done, and then we agreed on a price. I still had one more estimate to get, but he ended up beating the other guy by quite a bit. I called him later that day, and we agreed on a date to start work. He and his crew showed up exactly when he said they would, and Tony sent me a couple teaser photos during the day with each stage of work. When I got home, I was surprised to see there was NO DUST WHATSOEVER in my home, and the crew didn't need masks. I thought it was a marketing gimmick when he told me they used a "dustless" sander, but sure enough, there wasn't sawdust on anything due to the seal around the bottom of their sander. I had asked for a brown stain (what little stain was originally on my floors was very, very orange) and to see samples before coating the whole floor. However, Tony had listed to what I really wanted--not just the word "brown"--and also had a natural stain down which looked incredible with the variations in my white oak. I ended up choosing the natural (and I'm glad I did), and they finished it up the next day, on schedule. The high-end products they used had little odor and dried extremely quickly. Even though I left for a week after the work was complete, I was able to use the rest of the house whenever they weren't working since there was little smell and no dust. Tony, his brother, and a friend were all very easy to deal with, and it's clear they take pride in their work. They were all smiling as they saw the finished product, and they all had photos on their phones of other jobs they were particularly proud of. Again, I'm one extremely happy customer, and they'll be my first call if I ever need similar services again.

I think they were probably very competent and knew their business pretty well. I would probably use them if I decided to do the work but we have not done the work yet.

I called and talked to him, and he came the same day to look at my job and give me an estimate. I agreed to the labor price, and he let me buy the hardwood directly from a supplier he uses at a very competitive price. Tony always showed up when he said he would, and they did a beautiful job. This was unfinished hardwood that they sanded and finished on site. The best thing was he has an elaborate sanding system that is totally dustless! Also, it is Tony and his two employees doing all the work, not a large company sending out one of their crews. You are dealing 100% with the owner.
