What started as a seemingly nice transaction and would have potentially become a regular cleaning gig for this company quickly turned into a nightmare. We had just moved out of a rental home and into a new house. We hired them to do the move-out clean for the rental and agreed to the price he quoted, which was $300. Josh told me on the phone that they essentially clean every surface in the house and assured me of a thorough job. I emailed him the requirements list that we were given by our landlord and he stated in a text message (that I still have on my phone) that the only thing that would cost a little extra would be cleaning marks off the walls. I asked how much extra and he said he didn't see it being more than $30-40, depending on how bad the marks are, to which I replied that would be fine. The day of the cleaning, I texted to tell him not to worry too much about the wall marks in the laundry room, specifically, and that most of them were there when we moved in. Later, they were supposed to be finished around noon, but when I hadn't heard from him at almost 1 pm, I texted to see how it was going and let him know that I needed to leave for work by 1:45. He told me to go on to work and we could meet up later after work to inspect the house and settle up. He then also said that it was taking longer than expected to clean the house. Then at 3:45 pm, he texted to say that it was a lot more work than they anticipated and they had to clean a lot of dirt and dust off the walls because it was so heavily present. What?? I call BS on that because the house was not that dirty at all, plus, wouldn't this be considered part and parcel of a "move-out" clean? I didn't call him on this, but found it to be quite exaggerated and probably a ploy to get more money out of us. $300 for a 3 bedroom house of only 1800 sq ft. was plenty for what had to be done and the way it was left. Here's where the major problem started. My husband went by later and checked it out, although he didn't have the list of requirements and didn't really look at all of the detail like I would have, unfortunately. He called Josh to pay over the phone, asked what the final total would be, and Josh said $330, to which my husband agreed. So Josh hung up and then promptly charged $400 to our debit card!! So right there we have THEFT. I should have called the police, but foolishly chose not to. I suppose that is still an option... Later, my husband and I both went to the house to do a few things and when I did my own inspection of the cleaning job that was done, I quickly saw that the walls, which were supposed to be cleaned of all marks (and there were a lot after living there for 7 years), had not even been touched! Not one mark or scuff had been cleaned. And this is what we had agreed to pay the extra $30 for, and it wasn't done at all. My husband immediately called Josh to tell him this and Josh agreed to come over the next morning at 8:30 am to take care of cleaning the walls, stating that he definitely wanted to "make things right" and make sure we were satisfied. Then, upon further inspection, we found a number of other items that had not been completed as stated on the requirements list that he agreed to, such as grime still on kitchen blinds, dirty chandelier glass in the kitchen dining area, dirty hanging light just inside the front door, just to name a few (there was a lot). So I emailed him later that evening and politely asked him to take care of those other items that were not completed as well. He NEVER went back to the house to make ANYTHING right. He avoided emails, texts, and phone calls for 2 weeks. Once, my husband called him and I guess Josh didn't recognize the number because he actually answered the phone. As SOON as he realized it was my husband, he quickly said he had a "bad connection" and would call him right back. REALLY? He never called back and never fixed the problem. He is a thief and a fraud. DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR $$$

When they didn't show up I called at 3:15. I finally got Josh on the phone. Josh told me that they are cleaning a big house and it is going to take a while. I told him I need a time because I have company coming over later this evening. Josh did not give me a time. Now I am not able to contact Josh because it says the mailbox is full. I feel that I am being ignored. It was important that I get the house cleaned today.

Could not be happier. My customers always comment how clean the house is. S.C. uses safe products another perk. I also like that S.C. alerts me to needs like trash bags and paper towels which I had overlooked. Also cleaners change the duvet covers, my personal most hated job. Love you S.C. Given my needs for S.C. is not on a weekly basis, sometimes more often, sometimes less, they have been flexible. The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a large great room/kitchen about 1500 sq.ft.
Description of Work: Initially I gave this company my business because they are local, Atlanta is really a vast area. Simply Clean is also not a giant company. I need a company that is flexible because I have a rental that can have short term turn arounds and I need someone who keeps in good contact. My texts from him are prompt. AND WHEN HE IS ON THE ROAD, HIS PHONE AUTOMATICALLY ALERTS ME HE IS DRIVING. I LOVE THE FACT THAT MY COMMUNITY IS SAFER BECAUSE HE DOES NOT TRY TO TEXT WHILE DRIVING. The rates are fair.
