lawn mower repair

Description of Work: I took my lawnmower to this small home-based shop for repairs. They diagnosed a bent crankshaft and offered to replace the engine with a used one for $200. I gave them a $100 deposit for parts, then left town for two weeks, expecting to return to a rebuilt mower. |On my return, I called for a pickup time, but the mower was not completed. They promised it within 48 hours. No call, no mower. After dozens of calls and texts, including tales of medical problems and woe, I finally just gave up and wrote off the entire mess. I am now down one mower (I never got the disassembled mower back) and $100. I would take them to small claims court, but it's not worth the trouble. |So the bottom line is that I got ripped off of my time, money, and mower. I would recommend you stay as far away from this alleged provider as possible. The experience has made me question the value of Angie's List as well, since I chose this 'provider' based on two decent reviews on the site. If this is the reliability of the reviews here, it's pretty much worthless.

 + 0 moreHe seems to be an honest guy and came when he was suppose to. He did the work and didn't make a mess or anything. Nothing was broken and everything works fine. I had one small problem but it was not his fault. When I turned on the light and tried to use the dimmer control I heard a buzzing sound. My neighbor looked at it and thought the dimmer switch needed replaced. I went to the hardware store and the salesperson asked what the problem was. I told him I had new lights installed and he asked if they was the new style bulbs. I told him yes and he said try the round bulbs first. I did and the buzzing sound went away. I had purchased a big deal for another company and canceled it because they wanted $125.00 for each light. Johnny removed and installed 3 lights for $85.00. I have some more work that I plan on using him for.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 ceiling lights.

lawn mower repair
 + -1 moreRiding mower would start but after a couple engineturn overs would not run. Took it to Richard. He diagnosed a clogged carburetor; cleaned it; and called me later same day to come pick it up. He even gave the mower a good cleaning. Runs and looks like new. Great service. Highly recommended.

 + -1 moreJohnny Fox did a superb job far above what I expected. His talent for remodeling and machinery repair has truly amazed me. He was thorough, efficient,and honest. His price was very reasonable and he threw in some extras extending beyond the call of duty. I have recommended him to others and intend to use him again.
Description of Work: Fixed doors, electrical outlets, tile work, carpentry work and shored up a sagging deck, pressure washed driveway. He also repaired the lawnmower.

Description of Work: I used Jonny Fox for lawnmower repair and small machinery repair. We used him about three months ago. He repaired our lawnmower and installed the blade on my fine cutting saw. We also used him for small carpentry service.
