Response from It's Maid Day
We did not provide cleaning service in this home. This low mark is an opinion of how we managed a request for service. We take all low ratings seriously. With any review less than an A our goal is to learn from the experience and put an action plan in place to prevent or limit the chance of that happening again in the future. However in this case we believe this rating is unjustified and ask Angie's List members to judge for themselves. A request for service was submitted through Angie's list over the weekend for Monday morning or Tuesday morning. At 7:30 Monday morning we sent an email reply indicating we were sold out for Tuesday but we could get to her later that afternoon. Angie's list does not automatically include phone numbers and she did not include a phone number in her email message through Angie's List. So we had no way of calling her. In the email we asked her to call the office before 9:00 or we would need to open it up to other requests. The homeowner called us at 11:15 and left a message. She also emailed us her phone number. We returned the call within 15 minutes and was prepared to tell the customer that we no longer had availability. The husband answered the phone and quickly said his wife handles this and to call back because she was upstairs. We did call right back but no one answered the call. This member claims that we hung up on her. If we did, we apologize. In a few minutes she called back and when we informed her that we could not clean her home today, she became upset. We do record all calls for quality assistance and after reviewing the call, I can say with confidence that our staff was friendly and professional. Prior to posting this reply we contacted this member by phone to discuss the matter. It was a pleasant conversation and she indicated that she would remove the rating. Although the rating has been modified, it has not been removed. I understand her frustration but we cannot hold times for same day service for more than an hour. Our people get paid when they clean a home. Our goal is to keep our people busy and earn a full paycheck every week. By doing so we recruit and retain some of the best cleaners in Georgia. We cleaned 5,629 homes in 2014 and are on track to clean over 7,000 next year.
