Hicks Residential Roofing, LLC

It is stated they have been in business since 1980. On BBB website it says they started the business in August 2019. This is evidently when the name was changed from Hicks Roofing to Hicks Residential Roofing. After signing a large contract with Hicks Roofing in December 2018, and paying more than a 50% advance, very little work had been done by August 2019. Received a threat of a lien from a subcontractor in October 2019 due to Hicks not paying the subcontractor. Asked Hicks Roofing for something to show me what work they had done and paid for. Got a call next day from the owner and Mr. Connell. Was told they were going bankrupt, office has been closed, and all records had been removed. We paid the $13,600 before lien was filed, I cannot find any record of bankruptcy by Hicks Roofing, just a name change adding the word “Residential”. I was told they were going bankrupt AFTER the name had already been changed according to info on the BBB site. Pretty Slick. Just Saying

The job went very well. Michael was wonderful to work with on the quote as well as follow up. The crew they sent was excellent. Did a great job and left the grounds spotless.

Hicks Roofing did an awesome job. I got numerous bids and Hicks was the most professional from the start. They were competitively priced, completed the most thorough inspection and recommendations and the crew was fantastic with all of the required safety equipment. I have the best looking roof in the neighborhood and these guys are real pros. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Because the damaged area is three stories up, we thought a roofer would be necessary. I called the company last week and they sent two men out on Friday to give me an estimate. I chose Hicks because they replaced our roof around ten years ago and did a very good job. Things have changed a lot in those years. They gave me an estimate and arranged to come Monday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00. It would be a fairly quick repair and I was pleased they could do the job so soon. I rearranged my schedule and rushed home to be here when they arrived. They never showed up. I called them after 3:00 and was told that they weren't working that day because it was raining. First of all, it wasn't raining, and didn't until nearly 7:00 that evening; secondly, they could have called and told me. We rescheduled for Tuesday morning between 9:00 and 11:00. I got up early and got everything done so I could be available when they arrived. They didn't show up, again, nor call, and when I called after 11:00 they said it was drizzling and they couldn't work. Again, not raining, just a little cloudy. They told me they wouldn't be in my area again until Friday (today), so we rescheduled for 8:00 to 10:00 this morning. At 10:30 with no sign of them and no call, I phoned and told them not to bother coming. They didn't even care enough to apologize or ask why. This job was going to cost $425, not much in roofing terms but plenty of money to me. Apparently it was not enough for them to make the effort; I have no idea why they couldn't have told me that from the beginning. They are fortunate indeed to be able to turn down paying customers. The only reason I didn't give them straight F's is that the employees who came out to do the estimate worked with my schedule and came right on time. I would never call this company again.

Needed to replace gutters that had 12 cuts to bend around a bay window. Used Hicks Roofing for replacing my roof several years ago and wanted them to replace a portion of the gutters. Sealing the old gutters had been tried several times to no avail. Worked with Kelly Hicks to get an estimate and have the work done. She was very responsive in all respects. The job was especially difficult, not only because of the bends needed, but because the gutters were about 4 floors up from the yard and 2 floors up from an upper deck. The two workers arrived on time, were polite and knew their business.

We tried to call them and couldn't get a hold of them. So we contacted another company. We were under a warranty, but they said the warrant was void because we went with the other company. They do great work but they customer service and attitude are bad.

when her arrived. We are looking at a $15,000 estimated repair cost. He never even climbed on or measured the roof and wanted me to sign a contract. I told him I wanted an estimate. He told me it would be a few days. When I got the estimate back it was within a few hundred dollars of the insurance company check AND it said that normal deposit on this roof is $10,000 (60%?) but he was mistaken and would require $5,000 deposit. He knows I have an insurance check and if I gave him $5,000 he would be owing ME money after the job. Really?. In the mean time I contact a roofer who was recommended to me and has an A rating on Angie's list. They came out and measured the roof without me even having to be there and emailed me a copy of the estimate. Even with lifetime shingles, luxury=, architectural shingles the price came in at less than $9.000. They were great on the phone, straight to the point and they came out within a few days and did the estimate the right way.

Hicks put the new roof on my house in 2007 and was great to work with. When I noticed a small roof leak last week, I called Hicks to check it out I called on Wednesday and was told a salesperson would call me back. When more than 24 hours had passed, i called again. The salesperson did call me back late Thursday afternoon. We agreed he would come check things out around 4PM on Friday. The salesperson did not come out on Friday and has not called since then. I am not planning to call Hicks back at this point, and am instead calling another contractor that a friend referred. I'm disappointed because I had such a great experience the first time around, but I'm not impressed now.

They do quality work, and they stand behind what they do. They are well known around here and they've been in business a long time.

Guters still work great 11 years later. Like i said, good work, but I cannot accept the attitude that is ok not to show up for weeks with no phone cal

I had an excellent experience with them. They are prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They always get the problem fixed eventually even if it is a difficult one. Given the experience they have and the kind of people they hire, you really can’t go wrong. They diagnose the problem pretty quickly, and their price is competitive. They follow up very well. They are a very good company.

We were satisfied with them. They worked very hard and got it done quickly. They would arrive when the sun came up and wouldn’t get off the roof till the sun went down, and that was in the middle of summer. I was pretty impressed. They came and got the job done well, which is what we wanted. We did have one leakage after a big rain, probably because a nail had gone through a certain area in the roof, but they came back out and patched that up pretty quickly. We haven’t had any trouble with it. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I was very happy with my overall experience. It ended up costing more than they estimated because they found more repairs then they expected. I know that they were fixed right and it was worth the extra money to have peace of mind and a solid new roof.

Hicks did a wonderful job on my roof. The salesman explained everything to me before proceeding with the work and everything he said they were going to do they did. I was very pleased with the way everything was handled in a timely fashion. I would recommend Hick's Roofing to family and friends.

Hicks replaced a roof in my neighborhood and it looks so nice that I decided to call them for some gutter and siding work. The people were nice all around from the repair crews to the office staff and to say the least they did an excellent job on my gutters and siding. I was very pleased with the outcome. Whenever I decide to replace my roof, I will be giving Hicks a call. I would highly recommend Hicks to anyone!!

I severely regret using Hicks. They farmed out all of the work to day laborers who did not speak English. They took a week to do a two day job because if the crew showed up, they were late, did little work and left early. They left their tarps and debris on my lawn for the entire time, killing several plants and damaging the lawn. There was no care taken to protect the house, the work was mediocre and the service is the worst I've ever encountered from any home service provider.

This company was extremely clean and even used one of those magnetic gadgets to make sure they picked up any loose nails that might have fallen down. They were punctual, professional, and the price was the best estimate out of the others we inquired on.

I called them to get an estimate on painting my house. I was told that someone would call me back. A week and a half later, when I had not heard, I called again. I was told the painter was just now making his call backs and I would hear from him that day. It has been about four more weeks and no one ever called. I went with some one else several weeks ago.

IT WAS FINE. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN. THEIR WORK WAS VERY WELL DONE AND SEEMED TO BE COMPETITIVELY PRICED. IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO GET A LIVE PERSON TO TALK TO. THEIR PHONE SYSTEM BASICALLY FORCES YOU TO TALK TO VOICE MAIL AND THEN THEY CALL YOU BACK.
