I booked them 8 weeks ago and they provided an estimated start date of one month. Now after two months, and multiple follow ups, they are saying they are still 3 weeks out because it rained last couple of days???!! Can't get a straight answer....while the work is still nowhere near starting.

Russell Merritt is the owner. He is charming but he does not live up to his word. He cuts corners at every opportunity. Some things he did well but he failed miserably at others. I paid $29,110.00 for a replacement driveway, sidewalks, retaining wall and creek bed. His son suggested that a gap be put in the retaining wall for steps to allow for easy access to that area. He did not say that I would have to provide the steps. I refused this but Russell poured the driveway before correcting the wall. This left a gap between the driveway and the wall. He filled this gap with a polymer which has yellowed and cracked. Russell recommended a catch basin with a drain pipe. He said they never clog. It did. He had promised to come clean it. He never did. It took him 4 tries to get the pitch right on the creek bed so the water flows to the street and not onto my neighbor's property. His fourth try was so vertical it left me with a ditch instead of a creek bed. After 3 months of this, and because he was dealing with his father's terminal cancer, I paid him on the promise he would add more rock when things improved for him. He never did. I spent $1,600.00 on rock and my labor to make it look more natural. His repeated digging of the 'trench' destroyed the landscape fabric so that, now, weeds grow freely. How can a guy who's been in business all his life not know how to gauge the angle of flow??? Russell is charming and says he wants to please but always falls short. He always seems poorly managed and harried. He doesn't return calls or live up to his promises. He was at the high end of estimates and I expected better but he was always looking to cut corners. I didn't want to write a negative review but his continued failure to honor his word has led to this.

Arbor Hills Construction told me when they would start and when they would finish. They were on time, completed the work along with a few extras I did not expect. The new driveway looks great. I have had strangers stop and tell me how nice it turned out.

This project went perfectly! I requested quotes from 3 different companies that had good Angielist reviews, and Arbor Hills was the only one that provided a written quote with details on exactly was covered. The price was competitive and even better, the communication and professionalism ensured that I have no hesitation in recommending them. The new driveway looks great, and the next door neighbor who was watching the install even commented about what a good job the crew did.

One of the best contractors of any genre I've ever worked with. Professional, courteous, on time, responsive, and skilled. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Arbor Hills did an awesome job. Very professional and very trustworthy. The knocked the job out, exactly as they proposed. Clearly they are experts in this field, and their pricing was much better than other bids. Very easy to do business with, and would recommend them to anyone.

Josh, Russell's son, explained the process at the outset and everything went as planned. Russel, Josh and the whole crew were pleasant and easy to deal with. Very courteous and knowledgeable.

The driveway went in on time and on budget. Couldnt be happier with the driveway and new frint step. Bid was lowest cost with same if not better quality offered by others. Highly recommend them.

Fabulous, they are very pleasant to work with, trustworthy. He was knowledgeable, nice, kind, and good to work with. Our neighbors watch them working and they said they are fantastic and they are impressed and set an schedule for them. And when we came home everything went well. The price was reasonable and fair.

They were excellent and outstanding. They arrived on time to do the work and I am satisfied with the service.
