Concrete Works

Description of Work: This is a company with multiple personality disorder. I had a driveway replaced in July 2014. Worked with Matt who owns the company with his father Mark. Matt was absolutely great. Work was great. They also gave me an estimate to resurface an old concrete patio, and were OK doing that work later when my budget allowed. I contacted them in September to start working on the patio, which was a much lower budget project than a full driveway of course. We went around in circles, and for weeks could not lock down when the project would start. I got the distinct feeling they didn't want to do the work since they had quoted me such a good price. That is of course after I had a $17K driveway put in. Then around Thanksgiving, when part of my patio was already partially ripped up by the electrician that was doing some wiring and had to start first, Matt disappeared. Next I knew, got a VM from his father letting me know Matt just had surgery on his knee and would be out for several weeks. Left a VM telling him how I was quite upset about this. When I finally spoke to Mark, Matt's father, he told me he was the top dog and he could do what he wanted, and after my voicemail he wanted nothing to do with someone as nasty as me. I was completely appalled. He actually had stood me up completely on a Saturday morning because, according to his son, he had the flu and totally forgot about the appointment. The call ended with me telling him I would be posting a nice review online, and his words were "you go right ahead baby" and hung up on me. Note I am someone who contractors always love to work with as I make it a point to be flexible and understanding - and NICE. My conclusion - this man is most likely ill and unfit to run a business. His son keeps him around to not hurt his feelings. I emailed Matt and never heard back. So in conclusion: find out who truly runs the company these days. If Matt has completely taken over - use them. If Mark is still around, my recommendation is to avoid them.
