John was great to work with and took the steps necessary to insure the jobs were done right. He is efficient and effective at what he does and the work was done at a reasonable price. He helped on a number of other small projects and made a referral for another one at no additional charge. Would definitely use his services again.

We had a slight mix up on the appointment time, but I was called early enough, it did not impact the project. Job took less time then I thought. Very happy

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. We've used him once and are using him again. He is excellent. He showed up when he was supposed to and he did excellent work. He is very pleasant and professional.

John was absolutely professional, flexible, and helpful. I was coordinating several repair requests at one time with multiple parties involved and I am SO glad I found him to help. He performed services such as fixing a window gap, electrical outlets, and patio door (lock, screen, and blinds). He also checked the dishwasher to let me know that servicing it would be more than replacement. Last, he reviewed a door opening that needs to be widened and he quickly let me know that this was not a job he wanted to take on but gave me two referrals and a ballpark of what to expect in terms of pricing. He was courteous and respectful throughout the process and I definitely plan on using him again.

Everything turned out just fine. He was very neat; however, he did go past the 2hrs and I had to pay a bit more out of pocket.

John came on short notice to fix a few items that needed to be addressed from a home inspection in anticipation of a sale of the property. He is knowledgeable, personable and fair. When he was stumped by one wiring problem he contacted an electrician friend of his who came right over and was finally able to solve the problem. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend Buy the Hour without hesitation.

It went perfectly. Expectations were managed, time and money well spent.

I called the guy, he called me back the next day. I have called him twice since then and can't get him on the phone again. I am now getting a refund through Angie's List for this Deal.

Prompt response. Delayed on previous job, but called to notify me.

I asked John to handle three basic repairs that I had been unable to fix myself, a leaky toilet, a leaking exterior door and some drywall and molding that needed to be replaced following a leaky shower. John worked with me to schedule an appointment, even after I had to cancel on him the first time. When we finally did meet, he very honestly told me that the the work I had already done on the exterior door was all that could be done, and that anything he might do would not improve it. He fixed the leaking toilet and explained that I had done everything correctly, but that the parts were defective. He then repaired the damaged drywall around my shower, including the molding and show molding. The following week, he came back and painted both the new drywall and the water spots on the ceiling below. John is honest, forthright, on time and easy going. He will be back anytime i need a handyman.

I contacted John in late December with a long "honey do" list. Despite a full schedule, he worked with me to complete the work prior to a dinner party that I hosted in late January. He installed a new powder room vanity, faucet, light fixture, toilet roll holder, and towel ring after removing all the old items. He installed new weatherstripping in three doorways, and replaced and rekeyed a front door lock and deadbolt. He patched holes in our garage drywall and re-caulked our kitchen backsplash. He repaired latches on the gates of our fence and re-attached a spindle so "Fido" can no longer escape! Many people who charge an hourly rate purposely move slowly so they can charge more money. John doesn't do this. He is expedient and professional. He's busy because he is really good and fair. I have found my Handyman and I'm thrilled it is someone with a great work ethic. I highly recommend John. I highly recommend that you call him well in advance and work with him on scheduling as he is busy and it might take a few weeks before he can get to your job.

Called John for some work on a rental property, he was prompt in his return call. Once I had described the scope of work John said he thought I would be better served by someone he himself had used in the past. I called the person he recommended and have to say I am thrilled with both of these gentlemen. I appreciated Johns honesty and integrity in referring me to someone with more experience with my specific issue and the person he referred was just as honest and professional. By the Hour is certainly going in my permanent file of people to call when I need repairs. Thanks John!

It went smoothly. He arrived on time, with necessary equipment, which he had rented. Very professional. Also brought his own long-life light bulbs so we wouldn't have to do this again soon. (He was also willing to install our bulbs if we preferred.) Nice, polite, professional

John Gwynn returned my call the next day and I had an appointment with him by the end of the week. I had an assortment of repair problems, from a leaking toilet, replacing a mailbox, doors that would not close, holes in walls filled and new holes drilled, curtain rod rehung, and deadbolt lock reinstalled. He was able to complete EVERYTHING plus give me estimates on several other repairs. He is professional, fair and honest. Excellent service!

John worked with my schedule and even communicated when he thought there would be a ~possible~ delay (there wasn't) in getting to me all the way out in Kennesaw. He took to the work immediately and already was familiar with the fans and had them both running within the time he estimated completion. I'm very happy with his work and plan to rely on him again for other projects.

Very reliable communication upfront via email and phone. As it was raining for the agreed appointment he offered to reschedule - very professional in my opinion. Never or less we agreed that he will come and he took on all the little things without wasting time and got them all done in quality and time. Also very friendly to deal with. Definitely will use the service again.

He is extremely prompt and professional, works very quickly. He is also very up front about what he has experience with. You need to double check the finish out when he's done because he sometimes misses a few things. He's always happy to finish it up when you show him though. It's a pricey way to do a big but for small things his price is well worth it. I'd definitely use him again.

We’re extremely happy with the end results. John quickly responded to my initial call and I sent him a few pictures of the area which helped him determine what he needed to do to get the drapes hung above the stairs. We will definitely call John again next time I need any type of work done.
