John responded promptly to my request for an estimate and was able to work me in that same day. He went right to work and finished the chandelier installation within an hour - his high level of expertise was obvious. Furthermore, he has a personality that can't be beat. John Gwynn provides the service you need If you are looking for a highly skilled, competent and experienced individual to take care of things at a very reaonable price.

I could not even be in town for the work. He agreed to meet a friend at my house, do the work and then bill me. He was on time, quickly fixed all of the above and did a great job. Very easy to work with.

two sections of stud walls located next to garage doors, supporting the west side of the house, needed to be replaced.the 2 men removed the existing walls and replaced them without damage to the supported structure.

Great! And I haven't even met him! This is for a rental property of mine so we corresponded through phone and emails and I actually have not met him in person. The job wasn't hard, but I just don't have time to do it. So I was hoping to find someone with reasonable price to get this done and hopefully it's someone I can rely on in the future when something like this comes up again between the rental property and my residence. And I believe I have! So the job lasted over a few days. (Letting the wood dry, etc) Over the course, he provided quick updates through emails and calls on progress and when he plans to have what done next. I stop by and checked and he did exactly what he said he would for that day. And hence the reason I cannot comment on "punctuality" because we did not have appointment set up to meet. But he did exactly what he said he would, that's punctual enough for me! The job may be simple but he actually had to go by at least 3 times (that I know of) for estimate, pressure washed, then let the wood dry and finished up sealing, replacing the mailbox, etc. And he provided the material and replacement items. Considering all that, the total cost is honest, great, and very reasonable. This is my first time using his help and it worked out great. I will definitely use him again and refer people to him. Good honest people such as "Buy The Hour" deserves our business.

John did an awesome job. As the name of his company indicates, he charges by the hour which sometimes means guys don't work very hard and waste time, resulting in high charges. But John got right to work, was very efficient, and zoomed through my list. He was right on the money as far as his estimate of how long he thought the jobs would take, though of course he didn't run into any unforeseen problems. He has lots of knowledge about all sorts of common household problems. I will definitely call him the next time I need a handyman. His cost was half of another estimate I got from an Angie's List handyman and a third of the estimate of another Angie's List person.

John was prompt and professional in coming out to my house to assess the work that I needed done about 3 weeks ago. The work included installing a couple of flood lights and about five other small fixes including replacing or repairing a valve in a water line, fix a toilet that was not flushing correctly, repairing or replacing a defective flourescent light fixture, replacing the seal between my two front doors and adjusting another door that was sticking but he never followed up to give me an estimate which I eventually got from another handyman and the above work was completed for $650.00 in less than a day.

I needed a handyman for some minor repairs around the house. Angies List showed several good candidates but John's office was near my neighborhood and he had very good ratings. I called and left a message which he returned within a couple of hours. He came by and gave me his assessment of what needed to be done and the cost. We agreed and he scheduled me in for a few days later. The work took about five hours and he was unobtrusive as he worked around the house. I have other handyman work that I will definitely ask him to do.

What a delightful client experience! I got the name of this company from another homeowner in the subdivision. Left a voice message and then sent an email w/the list of items I needed completed. John Gwynn from Buy the Hour returned the phone call within 24 hours and then sent me an estimate of the time and cost associated w/ my list. We agreed on a day and then he showed up, on time, and proceeded to review the list w/ me. He completed the list in less time than originally planned (which meant my cost was less) and totally to my satisfaction. I definitely recommend this company and the service that was provided.

The work performed and the consultation time was well beyond an hour but John only charged for the first hour. John provides a well-qualified perspective on how to fix things around the home. His experience enables him to do the work efficiently, making his hourly rate truly fair and, in many cases , a real bargain. He will refer you to experts if he feels that it is a job beyond his skill level. He is definitely one of the "good guys".

I think he was really professional. Got the job done quick and aware of the time so he did not charge me over. I found his prices reasonable and the job was done the way I wanted it done.

He is punctual, polite and gave us a reasonable estimate. He charges 60 dollars an hour and stays until the job is done. I had him over at my house for 7 hours doing electrical work. John was easy to work with, very professional and he kept at the job.

We had pre-made shelves from Ikea that needed to be installed, plus a few other small items. Overall a good job was done, but I thought it took a lot longer than I would have expected, and was a lot more expensive (based on the hourly rate).

When John arrived, he immediately introduced himself, gave me his business card, and shook my hand. He is extremely meticulous about his work and he arrived with his own tools. I was extremely pleased with the quality of his service and feel he was worth every cent that I paid to him. I highly recommend him for your handyman chores.
