We wanted to expand our deck, which meant extending our roof as well. Other contractors reviewed the requirements and wouldn't touch it, not only did Georgia Restoration and Construction take on the job they did an awesome job. The extension added 210 sq ft. The job required framing/roofing/new pillars/new siding/painting, etc.. The GARCP team did a great job managing the various needed crews and the unusually high volume of local rain fall. No construction job is without a few flaws, the important thing is that the issue is acknowledged and corrected. The team did a great job solving all issues to our upmost satisfaction. Highly recommended in our book!

UNTRUSTWORTHY, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNLICENSED, INCOMPETENT We hired GARCP in January 2022 and paid them almost $120k to renovate our cabin and finish our basement. It has been an unmitigated disaster. After we hired them, paid them significant sums of money, and let them into our home, they treated us deplorably. They were disrespectful, condescending, and routinely refused to answer questions, often not even bothering to respond to emails and phone calls. They repeatedly failed to provide a timeline for the job, despite multiple requests. The only thing they seemed interested in was billing us. They were unapologetic no matter how many mistakes they made or how badly they treated us or our home. GARCP uses intimidation to avoid accountability. GARCP consistently failed to supply sufficient manpower and to order critical materials in a timely manner, failed to follow the plans for the project, failed to adequately supervise subcontractors, and spent months incompetently spinning their wheels because of their own defective workmanship and the damage they negligently caused to our home as well as our personal property. Even after months of inexplicable delays and despite the fact that we paid several suppliers directly in a desperate effort to keep the job moving, GARCP continued to refuse to correct their mistakes or devote the needed manpower to complete the job. We had to hire another contractor at great expense to finish the project and repair the damage GARCP caused. Adding insult to injury, at least one of GARCP’s subcontractors has threatened to lien our home because GARCP didn’t pay his bills. GARCP falsely and shamelessly makes repeated claims it is a “Licensed” contractor, but this is A LIE. See attached images of GARCP’s multiple posts on social media claiming to be licensed. They are NOT LICENSED. See the State of Georgia’s website: [*** Link removed ***] GARCP also falsely claims it is “Accredited” by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but that is also A LIE. See attached image of BBB logo on GARCP website and email from BBB confirming GARCP is not BBB accredited and is misusing BBB’s logo. GARCP falsely claims to employ a HAAG Certified Inspector, but that is YET ANOTHER LIE. See image of HAAG logo on GARCP website and negative search results on HAAG website. HAAG also confirmed GARCP’s lack of certification by email. See attached image of email. GARCP also falsely claims a 5 star Google rating on its webpage, but a closer look reveals GARCP’s claim is based solely on a few handpicked reviews (only 7 of the 18 posted reviews as of today). See attached image from GARCP’s website and compare to a contemporaneous image taken from Google showing GARCP does not have a 5 star rating. Even worse, at least one of GARCP’s Google reviews was posted by one of their own employees, Whitney Cain, the owner’s sister. See attached screenshot. They are clearly more interested in misleading prospective customers about their ratings and qualifications than they are in completing the work they’ve been hired to do.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Unfortunately in the industry that we work in you just can NOT please everyone. Sometimes relationships simply do not work, especially when it comes to business. Differences in opinions and people attempting to be professionals over the professionals that were hired prove to make jobs difficult and can end with both parties having a negative view of the other. When an original estimate is given it is typically understood that it is an estimate and not an exact figure, as in the case of your cabin in particular, where mold was found, which is very costly to combat as you now know. Constantly changing and adding upgrades will not only drag a project out, but it will also make the job cost more, which you hopefully also understand. GARCP did in fact make multiple attempts to correct your project and get it turned around, however , some people simply can not be pleased and are too impatient to allow a turn around to happen. It should be noted that this homeowner who lives in FL and owns a cabin in Ellijay, terminated us from this job during an ice storm, when the roads were closed and there was no access to their cabin to get any work done, when only punch out remained. It should also be noted that a contract was signed by this homeowner agreeing to pay $94K, a mold contract in the amount of $15K (rounded), multiple change orders in various amounts also signed by the homeowner. They were also made aware that any change orders needed to be paid in order to keep delays from happening, however, any time a change order was sent it was suddenly an issue to get paid. GARCP had an unfortunate run of project managers who could not handle their work load and in turn took that out on GARCP and slandered our name to customers trying to wreak havoc. This project is one that suffered because of that along with gossiping instead of coming straight to us to make it right. Often times when someone forms an opinion of someone based on someone else stating something negative, its very hard to change that opinion. -Whit

My friend hired them to do a renovation for them and it was nothing but a headache. The project was not completed within the time promised and now they are having to hire a new contractor to come in and fix all the bad work and make things right. Don’t hire this company. They are not trust worthy, reliable and give poor customer service.

Run, don’t walk, away from this company! Georgia Restoration and Construction Pros (GARCP) advertises that it is a licensed contractor, but it is NOT. They publish on their website that they are “Professional contractors and construction experts you can count on,” but they are neither professional, nor are they experts. We counted on them, but they failed miserably.
Description of Work: We hired GARCP to update our small, 2-bedroom cabin and finish the basement. They told us the project would take 3-4 months, but after entire year, they still could not finish.

GA Restoration did an excellent job treating the minor mold problem we had in our bathroom down to the subflooring and joists as well as completely renovating our bathroom. They arranged multiple contractors who all did an amazing job. We worked with Sam and he was very responsive and communicative with us through the project. They completed the project the week before Christmas, a busy season, and during below freezing weather without delay. I would work with GA Restoration again and recommend them to anyone for their restoration or construction needs.

Horrible! Couldn't fund project after loan company got documents saying they could. 10 months to build.spoke to Horribly by builder and wife, very unprofessional people, punchout list not completed and more to add. Doors not set correctly, outside trim has gaps. I have pictures and text to prove shoddy work. Will tell all I know and share pictures. Pocket door on plans, missed, one installed one promised later. I will keep posting on line, even if this is removed, I'm sure it will. There's a reason only 5 reviews!

I previously made a review giving this group a low rating. However, they did come back and make right the issues we were concerned with. They have been very gracious and even given a discount on a couple of items when they didn't have to. We had an issue with the transition piece in the large dog kennel area that they installed not working and they came and put down another piece that looks like it'll work better. We are pleased that they were concerned enough to come back and make it right. It definitely says much about their character and quality of their workmanship.
