I was quoted $300 for a 1000 gallon tank. My tank was full because there was not a drain pipe. He immediately quoted me $2500 dollars. I told him just to clean it out. He charged $700 he said because it was "full". It was still less than 1000 gallons. I called another company and they charged me $200 to fix the pipe. It felt like a scam from the beginning. He commented on how bad it was for my kids not to fix it, he said that he believed the previous owners had never serviced their tank, and stated that it was againsted the law to hire someone not licensed to do septic tanks. He really played on my emotions. I am so glad that my husband stepped in and called his bluff.

Excellent!!!!!! I as the customer was expecting just a clean out for $300 but Jarmarta and Steven professionally explained that my concrete had decayed and needed PVC replacement to fix the septic tank and paid more but worth all the work they did. They did a really great job repairing my concrete spouts that had decayed and put back with PVC which will make the septic tank last longer. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They completed the work as promised, but there were several issues that occurred after that point. One was that the pipes started leaking almost immediately after the repairs, and it was very difficult getting them to return to make reparations. In fact, it took two weeks for them to come back and finally fix the leaks. In addition, another plumber claims that I had been overcharged, and I'm inclined to agree since Rooter Express will not provide me with an itemized bill. Ultimately, I would not recommend their services.
Description of Work: I hired them to fix some pipes that had busted during cold weather.

Mr Septic/ ROOTER EXPRESS PLUMBING SERVICES. 678 289 8134 AND 770 391 0554 I used Google to find a company to empty our septic tank. I wish I hadn't called Mr. Septic. Mr. Septic has a very clean and simple website and plainly says "Our message is simple, we offer septic tank pumping at $189.00" My initial phone call was taken right away by a tech who took my information and with great sense of urgency told me he would be by tonight or tomorrow. I told him not to worry about it and enjoy his Friday night, and we could wait until morning. A woman called later to follow up and get my address. I was feeling good at this point because of the multiple points of contact. I decided to go ahead and dig a hole for the guys so they could access the tank easily Saturday am. I dug a hole that has a diameter equal to that of a 55 gallon drum. i figured it would save the guys time and they would appreciate the head start on the project. During the night the hole accumulated some water due to rain. we live on a hill and as the 2 techs confirmed, there was 8 inches of water from the downpour and runoff in this hole. I used math and can tell you that one gallon of water will take up .54 inches in a 55 gallon drum so at 8 inches we were had almost 15 gallons of water in the hole. The team arrived around noon Saturday only 2 hours later than their dispatchers Saturday 9am followup call to tell me they were "en-route" had promised. When they arrived they seemed interested in getting to work. As the team was positioning their truck and unfastening hoses the lead tech asked my how much I was quoted on the phone. I said $189, like your website says. he scratched his head, wrinkled his nose and told me "that's not going to happen, let me call the boss man". He called his "Boss Man" and described the extra water on top of the hols and estimated the volume of water to be at least 100 gallons. at a cost of an extra $100 dollars. Evidently his "boss man" said to "use your judgement" and make the call. The tech informed me that he would make the call based on whatever else he found in the tank. At this time the tech walked me around the side of my house shook me down for a private Cash tip laying out a quid pro quo that in exchange for a sum of cash he would overlook the the water in the hole, despite that might case his truck to overfill. I want to reiterate at this point we are specking of 15 gallons of water. I said nothing because i wanted to see how this played out. I figured for an extra 40 bucks I could get my tank done at that moment and get on with my life. Better to deal with the devil you know... Upon digging a second hole they sucked the mess and water out of the tank leaving a great deal of sediment on the bottom of the tank. They insisted that the sediment was necessary to keep bacteria in the tank. I know this to be untrue because the whole point of emptying the tank is to rid your tank of the sludge and the sediment! The tech asked us to turn on our hot water to help flush out the clean out pipe and as the water flowed he put on a rubber glove and wiped some grease and muck out of the pipe. In fairness he did offer to let me scoop out the grease but I had a plans with some out of town guests for lunch ans everyone was waiting for me so i asked him to do it. The wipe out took approx 30 seconds. In the end I received my bill for $189 plus 200 dollars for a total of $389. he informed me that this would cover the extra water and the wiping out of the pipe. I made good on my 40 dollar cash tip to the tech who introduced the quid pro quo and a 10 dollar tip to the tech who actually wiped out that pipe for half a minute. I am irritated that i was taken for the extra $200 but did not want to cause a scene in front of my wife, kids, and out of town guests. As the tech gleefully took my $389 he informed me that he had done me a really big favor because he gets a percentage of anything over the $189 they advertise. These guys are not professionals. They have a good receptionist, a decent website and an expensive truck but this a professional does not make. I would not feel comfortable suggesting anyone use Mr. Septic or Rooter Express Plumbing Services. Let my $200 over payment and 50 dollar tip serve as a warning. If anyone thinks I'm exaggerating take a look at my other reviews. As a small business owner myself we live and die by these feedback's. I can be reached at 404 992 1124 if anyone would like more information about this experience.

I've used them before. They were able to rectify my problem for half of anybody else. They gave me a 2 year warranty and everybody else wanted to give me 30 days. They came the next day and it is still working. They were early for the appointment. They took time out to explain in detail how it worked. Everybody else wanted to replace it. I would absolutely use them again.

We liked the plumber that came to our house, he did a good job and he was quick. The company itself is slow to respond and did not keep us updated on the plumber's arrival (he was 4 hours late). I would not hesitate to call the plumber again if he worked for a different company.

This company probably gets most of its business from home warranty companies. I would not recommend them; other companies listed in Angie's List have much better reputations.
Description of Work: Rooter Express is a plumbing company that Old Republic Home Warranty company uses. Rooter Express came to my house to look at and fix a tub leak on the second floor which was leaking into another room. Since the problem was due to faulty installation, Old Republic would not cover the cost of fixing the leak. Due to signing an agreement to have Rooter Express fix the leak, I was obligated to have them fix it; they came the next day. Their work is not at the level that I have had from other companies.

I was sent to this contractor through my Home Warranty company. They came out to fix my clogged sewer and they stated that they hit roots when they put the snake into the lines and they only got 20 feet down. They said that we would have to replace our whole sewer line from the house to the main line in the street and it would cost $3500. The guy said that when we call to set it up they would have to schedule locates and then it would be up to 72 hours till they start and then they would be done in about a day or 2. We would have to pay 1/2 the price at the time that we schedule the work and the other 1/2 when it is completed. The guy left and we went about our day. We came to realize that the tubs and showers were all still clogged. We were never told that the clog was still there we thought he broke it up as much as he could and that we would need to get this done as soon as possible because this was just a bandaid. We called back and they said no there is nothing we can do we couldn't get past the roots. I logged onto Angie's list and found another contractor who said that they would have an estimate come out on Monday to estimate the replacing of the lines. They said that price was the highest they have ever heard of and they know that they could beat it by at least $1000. I got a call about an hour later by the 2nd company who said they did not like the fact that we were going to have to go 4 days without a shower and they wanted to try to come and fix the clog for now and if they could not do it then they would take the cost off of the estimate that was going to be given to us. They arrived in an hour and they were able to break up the clog that was 70 feet from the house and they said that they did not hit any roots. He said that he did not think that the lines needed to be replaced and if they did it might be the small portion near the road since that is where the clog was. He said I should still have the estimator come out since it is good for a year. I called my home warranty company back and they were very upset with the 1st company. I Come to find out that they told them it was roots so the claim had been denied when that was not the case. They did not even do the work that they were sent out to do and they tried to get an extra $3500 out of me during my time of distress. Please do not use this company.

Even though we had to use this service because it is who the warranty agreement people sent out, I really liked the professionalism and good manner of this contractor. He knew just what to fix and even showed me something I needed to get down that wasn t part of the home warranty. I was very happy with the service and would recommend him to others.
Description of Work: As part of our new homeowner's warranty agreement, this plumber came out to our home and fixed a damaged water pipe in our basement which was leaking. He took an hour or so to replace the pipe and threw away all the trash himself when he cleaned up and left.
