Had the unfortunate experience of using Shane to repair ceiling damage from a leak in my roof. Between him initially coming to the property to give a quote and him fixing it, it was three weeks, which were spent by us repeatedly reaching out to him, him saying that he would get back with us the next day, and never hearing from him when he said that we would. I should have gone with my gut and canceled then, but at this point, my new roof had already been on for weeks and I just wanted to be done with the situation. In addition to being late, on arrival, he drove through my yard and ran over my water line, breaking it. It took him and his assistant nearly 4 hours and multiple trips to the store, so we had to go without water for a majority of the day and he told me that he would “cover” any damages. Didn’t discount my repair for the inconvenience, which was fine, but also decided to leave walls patched and unpainted and said it would be another $100 to paint that. According to him, he doesn’t include painting in quotes since many people want to remodel after damage. You’d think that he would want to upsell his own services, but apparently not. His attitude after breaking my water line was extremely agitated and he dented the walls in the room that he worked on with his ladder, but I cut him some slack since he was having a bad day. The unresponsiveness, lack of professionalism, tardiness, and general inconvenience of using his services are not why I’m writing this review. Starting the day of his repair, I began having issues with the majority of my plumbing fixtures in my home. After paying a water bill nearly quadruple the normal value and $180 to our trusted plumber to remove debris that got into our line, according to my plumber, while it was open when it was most recently broken, Shane refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing because apparently I can’t prove that the debris is there because of him. Since I’m not aware of placing cameras inside of water lines being a common practice, it seems that we are left to only use our common sense to figure out what could cause an issue like this. Doesn’t take a college degree to come to the conclusion that his carelessness is the likeliest result. My ceiling is repaired, so I can’t say that he won’t do what you hired him to do. He seemed like a nice enough guy initially, but if you’re considering using him, know that he will not stand behind his work and if you have any issues, you will be on your own.
