I would never use them again, they lied about my roof, over charge me on for the square footing, they were rude, the daughter was disrespectful screaming on the phone that I was looking something for nothing after they got my money, I tried to go though paypal to get my money back and it was unsuccessful, make certain that anybody who use them get it in writing on paper or verbal, they were dishonest, shady they wouldn't take off the old bare roofing off the house the insulation, the mat, I had a fight with them to take it off, it ended up leaking because they didn't replace the rotted board on one side of the house, it leaked into my an area of my house. When they did come back out and I wanted to show them when the owner of the company went into the attic and looked around and said he would send his guy back we couldn't figure out a day when they showed up, they didn't bring roofers they brought two crack head for ten dollars an hour and when I complained the daughter started screaming at me on the phone I think her name was Jamie, she was nice in the beginning but she turned out to be a nasty little spit fire, They brought the wrong color of roofing. When I halted it again they argued that's what you choose. I said no. They had a job that fell through and they tried to push that roof color on me and I said no. Then when they had to go and come back, the roofer remeasured the roof and realized that my house was actually smaller so they walked off with the extra material in the back off their truck and charge me for it. They were totally dishonest. My son climb up on the roof we had a leak in the bathroom behind the livingroom wall and we figured out when it rained that the water would coming down from the booth, the roofing booth that they installed, I did not want them on my property so my son had to climb up there and sealed that off so we wouldn't ended up with rotten wood behind the surface that we wouldn't be able to see.

Once I agreed (verbally) to the job, I was told they would call me back to get it scheduled on the calendar. After a full MONTH of no response (and more than one call back from me), they finally called - without so much as an apology - to say they were ready to start the job. I had assumed that they were no longer interested in the job since I hadn't heard from them in so long and had written them off. What kind of company just doesn't call their customers back for an entire month!?? This should have been another sign to run for the hills, but again, I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake.
Description of Work: We hired this company for a new back deck and then promptly fired them on the first day of the job b/c none of their plans were what we had asked for. We never received any formal contract to sign or approved any plans/drawings (although we specifically requested them on more than one occasion). We were told that they don't typically draw up "plans," they just build "on the fly." (In hindsight, this should have sent us running, but we really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.) The building permit they received from the city including drawings that were different from anything we had discussed. But then when we asked for the problem to be corrected, they refused to complete the job without more money. After unsuccessfully trying to work things out over the phone with the owner, we decided to part ways. They sent us a bill for the incorrect permit they had obtained and for the dumpster and materials they delivered and that sat in our driveway for more than a week! Do not use this company! Highly unprofessional!!!

WE did not hire this company through Angies List we had used them for 2 other small outside jobs in 2010. One was gutters which was done under a different company name but it was Ms. Hunt we dealt with. We have had a problem with them. My husband repeatedly asked Ms.Hunt while they were doing the up date to check it. Ms Hunt did send someone out after we paid in full for the up date. Her worker said the gutter was not tilted right it did damage to the wood( they did not fix the wood). This review is about the 20,000 plus dollar up date they attempted to do on or home. What a nightmare.A 11 day job turned into a month. This company did not give us a clear contract(unfortunately we trusted them because we had used them before) .They kept asking us after the job was started and the papers had been signed to pay for a dumpster. WE did end up paying for this(because they were throwing construction trash in the back yard) but we shouldn't have as this should have been included in the original price. They also asked us to pay weekly draws for their employees after the papers(it was just a list of things that were to be done not a real contract) had been signed and the job had been started(they did this in front of their employees). The worker they hired to do the work could not stay on task.He was late allot and on one occasion did not show up at all. He always seemed to have allot of drama going on. Some days his helpers(19yr old relative of the job foreman Ms. Jamie Nations Hunt)would just sit around and wait on their hired help and stated he did not Know how to do very many things without being showed how to do it.There seemed to be a lack of communication and professionalism with in this company. The job foreman(Ms Hunt) rarely was at our home for more than few minutes(with the exception of a couple of days due to her workers lack professionalism) always talked about going to try and get other jobs. Her friend/partner was often called in to calm things down when she couldn't handle the situation. He would stand right in my face while talking to me in my own home. Because of the lack of communication and ability to stay on task many things were left incomplete or simply not done right.. Some examples are they used particle board to replace rotten flooring due to leaks(they assured us there will never be a problem found out later this is not true), Interior doors not painted completely, interior doors trim were not properly caulked around or painted, base boards not completely painted, Top and bottom kitchen cabinet colors do not match, paint is peeling off cabinets because stain was not killed properly, front and back doors were not properly caulked on the outside, siding is torn beside back door, they drew a circle for the can light in our shower and it is still there, can lights were not caulked properly there are so may issues it is to much to list. Allot of things We discovered while cleaning up the big mess they had left. But the most expensive(we figure we are out about 6,000 dollars) thing that we believe they did wrong was our laminate flooring. We discovered after we paid them in full that our laminate flooring(Ms Hunt sold us on this flooring it is not the quality of the pergo we had chose to begin with) was not installed correctly. WE have many uneven spots and in one room there is a hill(they left a heavy piece of furniture on top of the hill so WE were not aware of it till later after we paid). In two rooms it feels as thought the flooring is going to crack open. WE paid over 400.00 dollars for some of the floors to be leveled with a compound. The company(Steve Nations Roofing/contracting) refused to come back to our home to check this out. A couple of weeks later we decide to replace the dinning room floor(because we will need to replace all of the laminate due to installation problems) WE used someone else to do this. When they pulled up the laminate flooring that Steve Nations Roofing/contracting hired help installed there was cardboard boxes under it. This was used to try to level the floor(we were not aware they had used cardboard until this time). When I sent these pictures to Ms.Hunt she became very hostile about the situation stating that it is normal to do this.Ms. Hunt decided to cut off communication with me at this time once again trying to send in her friend/partner to solve the problem(he was not my point of contact and I refuse to deal with someone who stands in my face and while talking about the floor in our master bed room made mention that his daddy is a lawyer). WE have sincerely tried to find someone else that thinks that it is ok to use cardboard under laminate flooring to level the floor. WE have not found anyone that says it is .They have been quite shocked that cardboard was used. A big box home improvement store even stated that cardboard will hold moister. While we realize that we paid this company in full. The flooring is in their name and the manufacturer will not deal with us. After the flooring was almost completely installed I was looking for the manufacture phone number to see if a Representative would come to our home because we had concerns about how uneven our floors were and if this was normal as Steve Nations Roofing/Contracting representatives were trying to convince us it was. I discovered that the manufacture of this flooring has a class action law suit against it due to Quality of the glue used to attach the padding on it. WE tried to get the floor manufacturer to send us a air Quality kit but have not received it and I do not think they will( Our flooring is in Steve Nations Roofing/Contracting's name. Ms hunt told me there was a case worker that I would here from in 24 hrs(when I finally talked to a rep from the manufacturer they had no knowledge of this) .This never happened.Ms. Hunt had sent us an air Quality kit that had been opened and we felt it had been compromised as this company has not taken any responsibility for our flooring or things left incomplete(with the exception of a door knob that needed replacing due to the keys were missing and attempting to wash the driveway(in no way did the driveway come clean). Also on several occasions Ms. Hunt has accused me of attacking her when she is the one that came into my home and yelled at me that she had bent over backwards to help us(This was because I asked them to leave OUR HOME due to all the problems we were having with them). We only allowed them to stay because it was near the end and they already had half of our money. Also claiming that they lost money. Their is no way they lost money due to any thing we did. If they lost money it was because the job took twice as long due to their hired help. As you can imagine due to the problems with their hired help and their lack of communication I was under allot of stress and ready for these people to be gone from our home. I would also like to add that they left paint splatter on the front of OUR HOME and a big black stain on our driveway. Also the plumbing that was done under our sink in the kitchen keeps falling apart and flooding the cabinet. They also left allot of our furniture in the wrong place. They left everything filthy. They have stated that we paid in full so they are not responsible for any problems after the fact. I do not have contact with them anymore due to Ms. Hunt breaking it. I am sorry but if you spend 20,000 plus dollars on an up date there are bound to be issues after the fact. WE realize they do not have to respect us since we do not owe them money now but it is very unprofessional and just plain wrong to leave people hanging. We have no choice but to give them a F because we feel there were so many issues that were not addressed in a proper way and we did not get any kind of value for the money we spent with them. There is hardly anything they did that turned out the way it was suppose to. WE realize we should never have paid them in full but hind site is 20/20. If we had not paid them they could have have put a lien on our home . WE can not afford to have this happen at our age. WE just hope that whoever reads this review will make sure they get a clear contract from any company they plan to use with a price break down item by item and labor because even if we could get the manufacturer of the flooring to to deal with us we do not have a labor cost(this was promised to me on several occasions but I never received it). WE regret the day we ever did business with Steve Nations Roofing /Contracting and our point of contact Ms.Jamie Nations Hunt(job foreman/company president). From now on we will be having our adult children involved in any contract we sign to try to avoid another situation like this. When we look back now we realize there were allot of warning signs that should have made us stay away from this company. But like I said hind sight is 20/20.
Description of Work: we had an update on our 1200 sq foot home. kitchen and baths up date, 9 interior doors replace including casing, interior paint, base boards painted, front and back doors replaced, and laminate flooring installed except for kitchen and bath, 3 can lights,
