I was renting my house because we got transfered and the people I was renting it to were completing their Iraq tour and I wanted the house to be a clean welcoming beginning for them. The refrigerator, over the hood microwave, dishwasher, kitchen cabinets, and light fixtures did not need to be cleaned. I ran the self clean on the oven the previous night so all that needed to be done were the racks and a light wipe. The range is a flat top and needed a light cleaning. The floors in the dining room and kitchen needed to be mopped, base boards and walls needed to be spot cleaned, closet doors, bathrooms detailed, and the windows needed to be washed inside and out. Their were two people that came to the house and in an hour and a half Stacy the owner called to say she and her employee were done. I am a fairly good housekeeper but even I'm not that good. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the walls and baseboards. They had not been touched. I asked why she had not cleaned them and was told," she was afraid the paint would come off." I assured her it would not so she got a magic eraser out and did a test spot, the paint was fine. The doors and light plates in the bathroom were not done so she had her employee do them while I was there. The heating vent and baseboards were not done, along with the patio door windows. She said she had to get her sick daughter to the doctor and if I found anymore problems I should contact her with them and she would come back and finish. After she left I noticed that the floors were still dirty, the windows had a lot of residue from the cleaners they used, the patio door wasn't done, and the oven hadn't been touched. I called her and asked if they scrubbed the floors and was told,"they Swiffer jetted the floors.". I told her the list of work not done and even took pictures and sent them to her via the cell phones to make sure I was communicating accurately the work that needed to be completed. She assured me she would would come back and finish the job that evening. I had already given her the money order believing in good faith she would do as she had said. I called that evening and the next day but never heard from her again. I went back and finished the cleaning the next day. The reason I hired someone was to avoid the stress and relax on my last day in Hinesville. In my opinion she knew I was leaving the area so didn't worry about me causing her any bad publicity, or negative recommendations.
