We lost our home due to a house fire caused by lightning. Never being in this situation before, we didn’t even know were to begin. MRC came highly recommended by our insurance company, so we decided to give them a call. Doug was very responsive and was able to come out that same day. During the process, we faced many challenges but Doug was very persistent and stayed on top of everything. He was able and willing to answer any questions we had and always thoroughly explained the process to make sure we were aware of what was going on. I must say that even though we suffered a great loss, our home is so much better than it was before! I would definitely recommend MRC Construction to anyone looking to do home renovations, new constructions, etc! My family and I are forever grateful for everything that MRC has done❤️

Description of Work: Did not start project on time. Left the house unlocked when they finished for the day - even left a door open one day. Focused attention on appearance without worrying about repairing the leaks. Every day was a fight and I had to pull out the contract multiple times to remind them what work they were being paid to complete and how they said things would be done. Sadly,I would not recommend using this local company. If my insurance company had given me other options, I would have used another company.

How did it go? It did not - time was spent with my son going over the floor plan and the projected changes - they spent quite some time talking about it. I, as a bystander, but financing partner, did not interfere leaving that part up to my son who was well qualified to handle this part. This meeting took place almost 2 weeks ago and we have yet to receive any type of comment from this builder. Suffice to say that we are certainly not interested in this type of business. I would be curious to find out why we were not given the courtesy of ANY report. I sincerely hope that other parties will have better results! PS:There is no service description of a location as none was performed.
Description of Work: Having to postpone the initial interview from a Friday to a Monday seemed to be no problem for us, we were flexible. The gentleman, Doug by name, did show up on Monday as scheduled, but the remainder of this fiasco needs to be read below .

They did the tarping when they came out - you know an emergency. They came out that night and did it. That was good, but dealing with them afterwards, was a nightmare. I was going to contract through them to do the repairs, for the roof and everything else. And that was just awful. They said they will do the work and (I'm trying to figure out a time line here). They left me the number, I would call, they would not return my call. I had to get the insure inspector's estimate, I faxed it to them, they still didn't get back. Then I called. The owner of the company called and left his number and gave me a voice mail saying that they would like to do the work. And when I called them back, he acted like he had no idea that he had called me. About a month after that the roof started leaking again where they tarped it. Actually I ended up calling them and I had them come back out and re-tarp it, which didn't fix it. It ended up making the ceiling in my bedroom collapse. They blew up appointments that they were supposed to come by - they said that they would start the repairs as soon as possible and I said OK I will go with you guys. And they were supposed to make an appointment to sign the contact. And then they blew that off. It just was the one thing after another. Pretty much awful all the way around. A lot of them are like that. They have skills in doing the repairs, but not customer service skills. They didn't really ever give me a price.
Description of Work: We have been using MRC Construction Co. They actually came out to tarp the roof for where a tree fell.

MRC did a great job. They were very expedient and professional. They are the POC for insurance claims in this area for USAA. As a result, they were able to handle any/all insurance issues with USAA and saved me any inconvenience. I highly recommend them for any/all repairs.
Description of Work: They repaired/replaced the roof that was damaged due to high winds that uprooted a carport and carried it onto the top of my house. Since they could not match the color of shingles, they coordinated with my insurance company, USAA, and replaced the shingles on that complete side of the roof.

My insurance referred them to me. They were horrible and they had to come back four times to get it right. They painted the door the wrong color; it was supposed to be black but they painted it grey. I had to call the owner out because the workers couldn’t see that it was grey. It was a terrible experience overall. For what they do and for what they charge, I would give their price an F. One of their workers isn’t even allowed on my property anymore because he was so horrible. I would never recommend them and I would never use them again. I would do it myself and I don’t know anything about construction work.
Description of Work: We used MRC Construction to repair some door work for me.

The job was timely and well-done.
Description of Work: They did a renovation at our church. We updated the restrooms and nursery. It was a bit of a complicated process but they did a good job.

There were several things that had to be redone. They completely drywalled over the double switch in the living room (for the ceiling fan and the light in the dining room), and then argued with us that "they'd not do something like that", until we sent them pictures of the wall prior to the damage. We had to have them back to redo several things that were specifically discussed (and written down) at the initial consult. At one point, they "lost" the light fixture for the kitchen sink. They called us and had the nerve to ask us what we were going to do about it. My response was "I'm going to wait for you to either find it, or go buy a new one from Lowe's". Even the mortgage company inspector said that we'd have been much happier if we'd have gone with Bowles Construction, as MRC is now run by the son of the original owner, and not as well. Overall the experience was extremely poor. I would not recommend MRC to any friend/neighbor/acquaintance. As a matter of fact I'd tell people to not walk, but run the other way, find anyone else to do your remodling.
Description of Work: MRC was recommended to us by our Home Owners insurance after a water dmg loss. We'd previously worked with another company (Bowles Construction) and were extremely pleased with their service, but we went with MRC b/c the insurance company "preferred" them. Our incident happened in late July, but due to some mis-filed paperwork on the part of MRC work didn't actually start on the remodel Sept. They re-did the kitchen, the floors in the living room, the upstairs bathroom (where the leak started), on e bedroom and repainted all of those rooms. They weren't complete until Dec.

They did a great job. They are supposed to come and do our sunroom too, but we haven’t contacted them. They did quality work. They gutted out our whole kitchen and put in new cabinets and knocked down walls and broke them because they were low bearing walls. They put in patio doors, put in the floor, and took down everything and they did a good job. We have used them before and are the ones we have used forever, so we always recommended them. We did not have any problem at all. We thought that their price was probably comparable for what we got; it seemed like a good price. They were always professional and their quality of work was excellent.
Description of Work: MRC Construction Co did our kitchen about 4 years ago.

I can't say whether or not their work is good or bad but just from this experience of trying to get an estimate in a decent amount of time I would not use or even contact them again.
Description of Work: We contacted this company for an estimate for a bathroom renovation. We called and left a message and never heard back after a few days. So, we called again and got an appointment for an estimate. We had already purchased most of the materials ourselves and truly just needed someone to install it all (tub, tiles, shower, vanities, mirrors, lighting). They seemed to be okay with this plan and said they would get back to us with an estimate, but after weeks of calling for info on our estimate we gave up on this company. We never heard back from them after leaving messages multiple times.

Very regretful.
Description of Work: The work was done in 2004. They were hired by allstate to replace/repair my kitchen floor and subflooring after a water leak from my refrigerator. They came and did the work while I wasn't home. Evidently they used my 2 kitchen stools as sawhorses to cut the subflooring as I now have a 2 inch cut in one of my stools. Then they reconnected my refrigerator icemaker, yes the same defective refrigerator icemaker, and turned the water on, after we discussed not to reconnect it. So, guess what...yep ..same thing again. The owner of the company said well you didn't have it written in the contract. Really ...REALLY? Obviously he didn't do the final inspection or supervise his work crew, because no sensible contractor would have allowed that. Of course the damage was done by the time I got home from work.
