The owner of the company appeared too busy to take care of problems. But in a small city you don't have too many choices.

Totally DISSATISFIED!
Description of Work: Blount's Complete Home Services, Inc was scheduled to repair my home after 'windstorm' damages. He was constantly asking me for more money before he even started on the house. I got the insurance company to send enough money for him to start on my home in which he was repairing part of my roof, the ceiling and doorframe in hall bath, re-screening back deck, replacing siding on the deck, stucco and new shutter on the front of home, new garage door and replace window. Mr. Blount NEVER checked on his workers, he NEVER followed up. They left a board with over 100 nails on top in my yard, broke my cable box from the outside wall, ruined my in- ground sprinkler system heads (I had to replace 15 and my water bill was over 1K! I had to asked them several times to NOT park on my grass. He gave me a quote to enclose my patio deck but failed to give a 'complete deck quote. He was charging me almost 3K but the interior would be 'unfinished" and that would be an additional fee. Why would you give me a 'half-quote"? I just asked for my personal check back and just re-screen it like the insurance was paying for. I NEVER got my check back! I called about it and he said he was putting it in the mail a month ago. I NEVER received it to this date. The hall bath door frame that his workers 'cut-out' left my wall damaged and unfinished. I had to repeatedly cll to have him come look at it. He NEVER came. He sent workers here to 'look' at it. They came back the next day to put putty on it and then paint it. I noticed that the door swung out too far and when it is closed, I can see the hallway flooring! I tried to get him out to look at it, he sent someone else and they insisted that they 'didn't see anything wrong with it". I said then please have Mr. Blount call me to come out here because this door closed at the 'threshold' before. I should NOT see the hallways if I am in the bathroom with this door closed. He said OK. The next thing I knew, I am getting a threatening letter from Mr. Blount that he will put a lien on my property if I don't pay him the last payment but he hasn't finished the job. He is sorry as a person and semi=professional and he is NOT to be trusted. His work ethics is very POOR. He doesn't return phone calls but sent me several nasty text messages. He is very, very UNPROFESSIONAL. How is he still in business? I will NEVER, ever use or recommend his company except for the Better Business Bureau. He is not a good person as far as I am concerned and will seek legal actions for shoddy work and damaged property.

We, at Blount’s Complete Home Services, Inc., take pride in providing superior customer service and workmanship and have been in business successfully for over 20 years. We appreciate the opportunity to address the complaint made by the member, as we have been trying to resolve this issue and close he account for some time now. We entered into a written contract agreement with her and received the initial payment of $4,134.00 on November 8, 2011. The total project cost was $8,245.91, which was approved by her Insurance Company. During the construction of this project, we never received any complaints from her and she seemed to be very pleased with the work completed. Because this was an insurance claim, pictures of workmanship and completion paperwork was required by the Insurance and Mortgage before the final payment was released. This was completed and approved in accordance to their guidelines and funds were released to Ms. Roberts in the amount of $4, 111.91. At that time final payment was due, in accordance with our contract agreement. After several attempts to collect the balance owed, Ms. Roberts then mentioned her concern about a bathroom door that she said had too much space at the bottom. We had no problem with addressing her concern about a bathroom door that she said had too much space at the bottom. We had no problem with addressing her concern and our contract agreement includes a 1 year warranty for all work completed. Nevertheless, she never scheduled an appointment for this issue to be rectified. In reference to the damaged/broken sprinkler head and water bill, Blount’s Complete Home Services, Inc. was never informed about this issue. If we had been, it would have received immediate attention. In conclusion, we have yet to receive the balance owed, but are more than willing to address the issue with the door. Therefore, we expect full payment to be made or we will proceed with legal actions. Again we appreciate this opportunity and look forward to resolving this issue.

I was told that the work would take approximately 6 weeks to complete IF I moved away from my home. I made arrangements to do so. I was away from home for 10 weeks and the work was still incomplete. I started cleaning so that I could return my house. When Mr. Blount found that I intended to return home, he had his crew to do a rush job to complete the work. As a consolation, he offered to have his crew paint the walls IF I bought the paint. There were days during the 10 weeks that no one showed for work. I went on vacation for a week and upon my return, NOTHING had been done. The electrician installed faulty outlets. The food in my freezer rotted, unplugging appliances caused the outlets to come out of the wall. Antique light fixture globes were broken. The food and the fixtures were replaced by Blount. The heat/air unit had a leak. The installing company (Ivey) went out of business within months. I called a repairman for a "quick fix" as it was the weekend and 100 degrees. (Ivey's help used the bathroom toilet and did not flush it several times.) Mr. Blount sent someone from another company to make the a/c repair. The kitchen floor began to "sink" between the old flooring and the renovation. The compound under the linoleum softened and separated. There are three layers linoleum on the floor because of the soft spot and because his crew cut/tore the flooring trying to install it.. There are obvious patches in the floor. One of the painters came to where I was staying (on a Sunday afternoon) to tell me to come to my house after work the next day. The paint wasn't going to be dry before he had to leave for another job; that I needed to wait until it dried and then lock up. Debris and nails were in the yard the entire time work was being done. My burgular bars and windows were sold or given away. I was to have ALL NEW materials. The old kitchen windows were reinstalled, one at an angle, it won't lift up. The gas line to a gas grate heater was cut, my alarm system was damaged, siding was pulled loose from the house and the list goes on... There were so many people in and out of my home I never knew who to expect. Mr. Blount was never present while his crews were working. I have found so many examples of poor workmanship, years later I am still making some repairs.
Description of Work: I was given Blount's name by someone who had seen his work. I had never hired a contractor or had extensive repairs/renovations done. I wanted my kitchen remodeled, a walk-in closet built and central heat/air installed. Mr. Blount met with me and gave me an estimate. We signed an agreement/contract. I paid one-third of the total cost for his supplies on June 19, 2001. I also made payments July 7 and August 24. When I made the last payment, Mr. Blount sent one of his crew to pick up the check. When I stated that Mr. Blount and I had not done a "walk through" of the completed work, his employee phoned him. He told me that he could not come because he had to make pay roll and that he needed the check.
