I contacted ACE because our yard service had discovered several copperheads behind our property over a six week period. I HATE snakes, and since I have small children and pets, I wanted someone to get them out of there. Our normal pest control service said that they don't really handle that, but that they could put out "snake repellent" if we wanted them to. (Just to contrast with how UNPROFESSIONAL and UNSCRUPULOUS ACE is, our pest guy said that we could buy the same stuff at Home Depot and put it out for cheaper, but that in his experience it isn't all that helpful in removing snakes.) I should have gone to Angie's List next for a referral, but I just did a quick Google search. ACE popped up. I called them and the owner answered right away. He made several promises over the phone. While he couldn't come out that afternoon, he would come the next day and walk around to see if he could see the snakes. Any snakes he found on the initial visit he would kill "free of charge." Then he said he had a two week process for removing the snakes, by addressing their food source. He mentioned that his initial visit would be free at least one other time. The next day, it became clear that the owner was trying to sell me a rodent/squirrel system for our attic. We had just had one put in during the Spring, so he spent twenty minutes outlining all the ways the other company's system was deficient. (This may be accurate, but we will take that up with the old pest company) He didn't examine the wood pile where the snake was seen. He didn't look for any snakes, didn't offer to put up traps while he was there, just kept saying how we needed his company to remove all the existing barriers and put in new ones. Which of course would cost a fortune. When it became evident that I wasn't interested in having him re-do what we had just had done this past Spring, he suddenly informed me that it will be $125 visit fee that can be applied to the charges if we decide to hire his company to do the work he had described. I felt completely ripped off. He didn't find or locate any snakes, he didn't provide any information to help us, and he was at our house less than thirty minutes. He was full of promises and fell very short on delivering on them. If you are needing help with a pest problem, DO NOT CALL ACE.

The technician came out and put out several traps. Place three traps in the attic for 3 days, this process was not successful. Place a few traps on the house and in the yard again this process was unsuccessful. After 2 weeks with no luck, I was told in order to continue with this process , which was not working we will have to charge an additional 194.50 to continue with the traps. The animals are still in the Attic, now i have to invest money in another service.

They were expensive but high quality. I've hired a local guy who left me hanging when I had a raccoon trapped in my attic. They came out quickly to take care of the raccoons. They did good work on the house in a reasonably timely fashion.

The quote process was a breeze and included photos of what we were dealing with as well as a thorough review of any other issues (mouse poop was found as well as the bats), but without additional pressure to add more services. The service person seemed very knowledgable about bats, which was not something I saw with others we had out for a quote. The first half of the work was done in a very timely manner. The service person was courteous and very professional. The only issue we had was getting them scheduled for the second half of the work (removing valves basically) - it seems the service person lost our number and it took several weeks for him to catch us at home in person. Once contact was re-established, the work was completed quickly, however. So far, so good on the exclusion - no sign of bats this year!

Just met with the technician this morning for the first time. He performed an initial inspection, evaluation and set the first traps. He's a very professional, yet personable, polite young man- seems quite knowledgeable. They'll be trapping for 2 weeks and completing the exclusion barriers, then clean up. Hopefully this will take care of our problem. He seems confident.

Description of Work: the service "kid" was always late, he never trapped and relocated a single flying squirrel, infact he trapped a baby and didn't come back for 2 days, so it died! He tried to get an additional $800 out of me to patch where they were coming in, this was absurd because he hadn't even done the inital trapping and relocating! Never never use this company, we set our own traps this year, and saved $$$$ terr

ACE came out within 24 hours to set a trap for a raccoon that had found a home under our eaves. They also inspected the house for other bird and critter entry points. Within a week, they had trapped the raccoon and covered the entry points they identified during the inspection. John Bell, the manager, did our inspection and quotes and was very responsive every time I called him. The only surprise was the price: animal removal and corrective repairs were much more expensive than I expected, but I don't know that ACE was out of line with other service providers.

He did a great job. He was extremely professional. He came out the same day exactly when he said. Reviewed the area and answered all my questions. He then discussed what he could do.
Description of Work: I have used them twice. Once to remove a vole and again to remove a snake. The biologist- technician was very knowledgeable about animal behavior, habits and humane and environmental friendly removal. The ongoing options are also environmentally friendly to be deterrents not poisonous to other animals or children. The services were very reasonably priced and professional.

The technician came out on the appointed date and time. I described to him what I had heard while in the house and from what area of the house it had come from. The technician inspected the outside roof and noticed raccoon activity. He set a trap and said he'd come back the next day to check it. The same day, he also went into the attic to see if there was another entry point or evidence of raccoon activity. There was none. The technician made 5 more visits after the initial one. After seeing no further activity or catching a raccoon, he then repaired the point of entry and sealed it up. On the last day, an opossum was caught in the trap, but he figured that was not the culprit. To repair the damaged area in the roof was an additional $100.00. I thought the whole cost was pricey, but then I had checked with some other pest control companies and the cost was comparable. Initially, the tech told me that they would trap for up to two weeks. So from 8/24/12 thru 9/6/12, he was on the job. I have had no further problems from the raccoons.
Description of Work: The technician came out and inspected the area outside on the roof. He set and baited a trap. He then went into the attic to search if there was another point of entry. After subsequent checks, he deduced that the raccoon had left for good and that it was okay to seal up the hole. There has been no further animal activity.

The initial visit was good. However, they seemed to be unable to trap the rodents after a long time of traps moving from one place to the next. We were in a holding pattern on replacing and repairing the insulation until they were finished. After months of no success, (and finding flying squirrels in the attic ourselves) they caught one squirrel and determined that rodents were no longer living in the attic. The sealed the holes and offered a one year guarantee against future infestation. Two weekends ago I found a mouse in the attic and trapped it myself. I called ACE o come back out, but they refused, stating that they don't believe it to be flying squirrels. This past weekend i found a flying squirrel that I had caught in my trap for the mice. They have not come back out after multiple calls...

I HAD a bird in my furnace room and me being the bleeding heart I am I let them stay much longer than I should of. Upon deciding to have my furnace and vents cleaned I decided it was time for the birds to go. I called A.C.E at 9:30 AM on Monday, A tech (Jeremy) called me in about 10 minutes and had an appointment for 12:00 that same afternoon. After speaking with Jeremy about the location of the nest he told me they wouldn't have to charge me as much because it was easy to get to. Jeremy showed up 10 mins. early got stright to work and was done within 30-45 mins. I was expecting to have to go behind him and clean up the "mess" myself, (which on a previous quote with a different company I was told clean up was my job.) but when I went do to inspect his work I was stunned; not only was the nest gone but all of the mess was gone too. Also when I asked him a question about a different pest issue I was having he immediately showed me where I had some trouble spots and entrance way for other pests and gave me advice on how to prevent further issues..I'm more than pleased. A.C.E. may of been a little more then what other companies had quoted me, but they were still very reasonably priced and well worth the extra since I didn't have to do the clean up myself. Would I use them again? YES!! Would I recommend them? I already did that day to my mom!!
Description of Work: Bird removal, clean up and repair. I had a bird nest in my furnace room. The previous owners used the incorrect backing on the carbon monoxide vents, instead of a piece of flat mesh or screen they used a mesh box (which made a perfect place for a nest). Jeremy removed the nest, cleaned up all of the bird "mess", sprayed for bird mites, and put proper backs on the vents and put a preventative cover on the front so no other birds get any ideas. the work was done quickly and VERY well done.

It was more than I was looking for. They were very professional and prompt in returning my phone call. They sounded very reputable. To me it sounded like getting a super deluxe job versus getting something economical so that's why I didn't go with them. They sounded like they were a good company and would have done a good job.

We have a contract for quarterly treatments. They are good. It is a small organization; it's a guy and his wife and sometimes they have a couple of helpers when there is more work to be done. We have always counted on them to be responsive if we have a problem and they do a good job. We think their prices are average. We are paying the same price we've paid for the last 3 years so we can't complain about it. Everything is good.

Home remodeling/repair work allowed roof rats to gain access to our basement level living space and navigate their way to our attic. Based upon the good experience and outcome of engaging ACE to remove a large hornet nest from our property some time ago, we contacted them to review our situation. Nick Jackson examined our home from bottom to top, offered options to address the problem and outlined a recommended approach. Nick and his team returned to examine (and revise their work in one spot where they thought they could make an improvement) our property and inspect traps multiple times each week until they were confident the critters were gone and the sealed access points were effective. In addition to the good outcome of their work, Nick and each of the team members he introduced to our project was professional and pleasant in their dealing with my family.
Description of Work: ACE (in particular Nick Jackson, Operations Manager and his team) trapped multiple rodents and sealed access points from the below-ground basement/garage level to roofline of our home.

We had noticed a decrease in the performance of our dryer and weren't certain of the cause. As I was gardening in the area near the dryer's exhaust vent, I witnessed a bird going through the exhaust vent flap, so I knew immediately that there was a nest in there. I called another service to remove the nest, but within hours of removal, I could hear those familiar noises coming from within the walls of our home and knew the bird had returned. That evening, my husband and I purchased a vent cover and installed it, not knowing that the bird was in the duct. In the morning we could hear the bird trying to escape, so an immediate solution was required. I called our normal pest control service and was told that they didn't deal with birds and gave me a referral. Turns out live animals in the home or on your property on considered an animal nuisance. Anyway, I'm always leery of business to business referrals, so I did a bit of my own research. I found that the business to which I had been referred was not a member of the Better Business Bureau and had a relatively large number of complaints. So I called the Georgia DNR and was referred to their website (Georgia Wildlife.com) from which I downloaded a PDF with the names of licensed service providers, broken out by county of service. Animal Control Experts were on that list, were members of the BBB, and although they had just two favorable reviews on Angie's List, I decided that I would give them a try. I'm so glad I did! Greg Wilson was at my home within an hour of making the call and within about 20 minutes, he had captured the bird, unharmed. He was friendly, competent and professional. While he was here, he also inspected our home in search of other available paths of entry for other unwanted "guests" such as squirrels, etc. I would definitely use them again as well as recommend them to my family and friends.

I called them after hearing noises in my attic that indicated a possible infestation of something larger than mice, such as squirrels. They inspected my attic and questioned me about the noises, what time of day they occurred, etc. Based on this info, they suspected flying squirrels, so they set traps in the attic. For the next two weeks, they came over three times per week to check the traps. In a couple of days they had caught a flying squirrel, which apparently was the only one up there. They inspected the exterior of my house and recommended repairs to close possible entry points that the squirrels had used to get into my attic. These included putting flashing between my gutters and shingles to prevent animals from chewing through the exposed wood, as well as capping the ends of my ridge vents, etc. The estimate on this work was $2150, with the squirrel removal being an additional $389. It took them a couple of weeks to complete the work, during which time they left the traps in the attic. Once all the work was done, they took the traps away. Greg, the technician, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. He always worked around our schedule, to come in and check the traps, etc. I was also impressed that his initial assessment of flying squirrels turned out to be exactly what we had. After the work he did, I shouldn't have anymore trouble with animals in the attic, but I would definitely use them again if needed.

The service was first rate from beginning to end. I initially called them last week, because I had reason to suspect squirrels living in my crawlspace. I spoke to a lady who took my contact info and asked the operations manager to call me. He called me back in less than 30 minutes. He explained that squirrels in the crawlspace were rare, but that there could be other animals in the crawlspace. He indicated that one of the techs would call me shortly to schedule an inspection. The tech called me in about 10 minutes, and we discussed their services, charges, etc. He indicated that he would come by today between 8am and 10am. He was here at 8:00. He inspected the crawlspace and indicated that he had found the remains of a dead flying squirrel, but he didn't think there was anything currently living down there. He also inspected my attic and found nothing there. As agreed upon, the inspection was $129, and he put a piece of flashing for $11 along the top of my crawlspace door to help prevent anything entering there in the future. Everyone I dealt with was extremely prompt, professional and honest. I will definitely use them again if I have a need for these services.
