I just purchased a new home and after a couple of months here my refrigerator stopped dispensing water; however the ice machine still worked. Of course my home warranty didn't cover this so I started searching for local repairmen expecting the worse. I finally decided to settle on All Area Appliance and scheduled an appointment for some one to come look at it. When repair day arrived, I got a call from Eric? asking me if I still was having the issue. I told him I was then he suggested I try something before he came out. I have a GE fridge and he told me they are notorious for having the water line freeze. He advised me to leave the freezer door open for a half hour or so and try the water again. I took his advice and it worked!! I really appreciate his honesty and diagnosing the issue over the phone before coming out. Any other unscrupulous repairman would have came out and charged me a bundle to "fix" a simple issue. I have added then as my appliance repair company for any future appliance issues I may have. They are honest and I trust them.
Description of Work: My side by side refrigerator stopped dispensing water but the ice maker still worked.

We called All Area after we got home from a day out and our fridge was no longer maintaining the temperature, but still appear to be running. We called as soon as they opened Monday morning (we found the issue late Sunday night) and were scheduled for a noon-3pm window same day, which was better than one of their competitors we called prior. Our tech called me at 11.30 and arrived at my house within 15 minutes of the phone call. He was kind and courteous, and was able to quickly diagnose the problem (a relay overload capacitor) and quickly provided a quote for the work. He had the parts on he truck and was able to have the fridge back up and running in 30 minutes. He provided great guidance on next steps and moved my fridge back before leaving. I was very pleased with the level of service, and how quickly we were able to resolve our issue. I would definitely use All Area again!

I called All Area Appliances and they scheduled someone to evaluate the problem the very next morning. The technician immediately determined it was a bad control board and said they could get the part by the next day. As promised, the technician returned and fixed it very quickly. It was a pleasure working with All Area Appliances. They were professional, friendly and competent. Would definitely use again.

I listed my project on the afternoon of February 27, 2019, and received a call from a representative of All Area Appliance Service around 8:30am on February 28. An appointment was scheduled for the timeframe of 10am - 12 noon on the same day. The technician arrived on time, looked at my dryer, and provided some information about how to fully clean the lint filter when using dryer sheets. He provided estimates based on what the problem could be and I gave the 'go-ahead' for the work. Upon inspection, he quickly confirmed what the problem was (heating element) and made the repair in no time. Great, quick service at a fair price. Can't beat that!!

He was great. He worked on it. It took a lot of research for him to figure out what was going on because of the kind of dryer it is. He just kept at it til he finished. He cleaned up afterwards. When I talked to them, they were pretty great about sending someone out as soon as possible. The guy that I spoke with was really nice and very responsive. I just got a good feeling from them when I talked to them on the phone. They were very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: All Area Appliance Service repaired my dryer. It wouldn't dry/heat up. It's a front end loader. It's eight years old. He replaced the computer and since he had the whole thing apart, he cleaned everything for me. I had him go ahead and replace the belt. He replaced the thermostat also.

My girlfriends dryer, which resides in my house, was making quite a noise and was concerning her. I had never opened a dryer, yet...., and didn't know how to repair it. I ended up recommended her this company based on a coupon they had and had seeming good reviews. The tech and her scheduled a time to arrive and she got off work for a few hours, which wasn't good for her. Tech arrives and quotes replacement parts. Date and time set for repair, no show.... call placed on phone number that called her, it's his cell phone which he promptly got an attitude with. (Sorry if you call someone for repair work from a phone that you use, of course it is going to be perceived as a number to reach you at.) She called the main number and left a VM, it was the weekend, understandable. Tech calls her back as if nothing happened and says he is on the way ( over 1 and a half hours late) The tech came out once the parts arrived and replaced the parts which he felt needed to be replaced, I'd say roughly $180. ( bit much in the end, but ok.) The noise reoccurred after he left, and was far more drastic than before, now I was concerned... Second call back... Appointment was set but I had to step in. I took off work, also hard for me to do, and was told he would contact my girlfriend when he was on his way over within the time period previously set. The tech was a no show for 2 and a half hours from what I recall and arrived at my house unannounced, I texted my girlfriend and she was astounded. ( I got a bit of a laugh, as this was seriously becoming comical) He takes the dryer apart and I sit with him to hear the noise, noise occurs, the look on his face was priceless and yet I wasn't comforted. " 26 years I have been doing this and never heard that noise" After a brief discussion on the next steps he says "call a priest", ok kinda funny, but fix my dryer now please... He LEAVES!!!! I spend 15 minutes on Youtube and find out how to take it apart, and I find a washer jammed in the belt pulley which is rubbing and causing this immensely loud noise. Not sure how it got there... sarcasm, plus there is another misc part laying on the floor which wasn't there to begin with. I put it back together and proceed to finish my laundry. It works perfectly, been doing laundry for a month now and no noise.... Maybe I should repair dryers.
Description of Work: Dryer Repair for an unusual noise. Disassembly of dryer and replace parts. Parts replaced as per tech specification and purchase ( quote given to my girlfriend, I was not onsite)

This review indicates the service work was performed in October 2012 and the review was 9 months later in July 2013. I did review my invoices from last year and I do not have an invoice for any repair under the name on this review and after reviewing our dispatch records, I also could not find any dryer calls in 30345 for the service date provided. I do not believe my company performed any service work for this customer as I do not have any invoices on file, I was not contacted in reference to any problems and we warranty our work. Many appliance repair companies have similar names and I can understand how a wrongful review could be posted when the service work was performed 9 months before the review. If this customer does have an invoice with our company name on it I urge him to contact my office to discuss this situation.

Called the service provider on 12/22/12 for refrigerator repair because we had used them once before, several months ago. Scheduled service for 12/27/12 with the promise the technician would call on that date to let us know the arrival time. It is now 5:07 pm on 12/27/12 per the atomic clock. Normal working hours are over. If they were going to arrive after 5:00 pm a reasonable person will expect the courtesy of a telephone call. I consider the service call canceled and will find another provider.

This service date was the first day the office was open after Christmas. The holidays are very busy and we are typically short staffed as our technicians rotate time off to enjoy the holiday with their families. We make every effort to meet our times frames but the technicians do sometimes run behind. Our technicians also call when in route to verify someone is home and if no one answers they will not drive to the customers home. I gladly give discounts to our customers if our technicians are outside of their time frames and the customer contacts the office. I am sure this could have been resolved with a phone call but I cannot resolve an issue if I am unaware of a problem.

I have a Rental property and the tenant called saying that the dishwaser stoped working. I called All area yesterday after seeing here on Angies list. The person I spoke with was very friendly and said they could have someone out between 3 and 6pm. I recived a phone call around 4:30 saying they would be there a bit before 5pm. Not long after 5pm I had a phone call telling me what the problem was and he explained what he fixed and gave me the total. Sorry I am horrible with names, but everyone I spoke with was very friendly and I would defiantly use them again.

I called initially because of the company's low $9.95 flat rate (as indicated on Angie's List) and was told that because problems with dishwashers are more difficult to diagnose than other large appliances, the diagnosis rate is $39.95. While this rate still is cheaper than other companies, I still hoped to pay the rate on Angie's List. I called the next day to ask if the company would honor the $9.95 rate and was told that: The flat rate only applies to some appliances; The correct rate is on the company website; The company does not control what Angie's List posts about it; The $9.95 rate would not be honored for the dishwasher. I suggested to the company rep that she contact Angie's List to see about fixing the rate and was told that she would do so. I hope so. For future, I would consider using this company, as $9.95 is a dirt cheap rate. I was a bit disappointed, though, that the company didn't honor the rate on this site.

I typically make an effort to respond to any negative reviews about my company but I am at a loss at what I am supposed to say to someone posting an "F" rating because I charge a $39.95 service call for dishwashers when clearly that information is posted on my website and the customer was advised prior to scheduling any service. Contacting me and demanding a $9.95 service call or a negative review is the equivalent of blackmail and quite frankly shame on the customer for posting it and shame on Angie's List for allowing such reviews to be posted in the first place.

When I made the appt, I described the problem and supplied the model number. The repairman arrived on time, had the needed part and repaired my stove within 30 minutes. He also checked out a problem I was having with my dishwasher. He figured out what was wrong with it, gave me an estimate on the part and recommended that I continlue using it till it quit, since it was not worth the price of the part.T

One should not be fooled by the diagnosing fee which in this case was only $9.95. The catch is what the technician quotes you for fixing the problem price which in this case was around $300.00 that included a waiting period of several days for the part to arrive. We, therefore, declined the service. We check with the manufacturer of the refrigrater and bought the part for $142 including S&H. Since we now knew the problem, we put in the part with help from YouTube. We also found out on the Internet that the same part could be bought for $69 to $79. So please before you call anyone go to the Internet and do the search so that you don't get ripped off.

Response from All Area Appliance Service
Charging a $9.95 service call in no way constitues "ripping someone off" and we have no control over parts that are not in stock and have to be ordered from the manufacturer. You may have gotten lucky by installing a part and not having a problem based on YouTube but what if the part had been defective? What if the part replacement hadn't repaired the problem? What if you installed something incorrectly and burned your house down or flooded your house? When you pay for a repair you are paying for more than parts, you are paying for the experience to install and WARRANTY that part and you are paying for the assurance that the company is licensed and insured and you as the consumer are protected if there is a problem. If it was worth it to you to be completely liable for the repair you completed then that was certainly your choice but to post a review that states our company is "ripping people off" is completely unreasonable, unfair and inaccurate.

These guys do a great job. They came exactly on time and their estimate was right on. I found them very knowlegeable and efficient. The great thing is that they only charge you $10 to come out and do an estimate. You can get the repairs done and the $10 is waived or you can decide not to have the repairs done and just pay the $10. They'll be getting all my appliance business from now on.

Eric, who owns the company with his wife, was prompt, professional, courteous and thorough. He was personable and conscientious. His knowledge might only be exceeded by his expertise. He knows his stuff. Could probably fix ANYTHING around the house and did mention he'll work on Washers/Dryers/Stoves/Garbage Disposals/etc. Very Good experience overall, and the fixes cost much less than a new refrigerator would have. Plus, I don't have the hassle of shopping for and choosing one. Thanks Eric!
Description of Work: Eric diagnosed my refrigerator problem in less than 1 minute flat and had the parts to fix it with him. I call him the 'Appliance Whisperer'. LOL. I thought I'd need a new appliance, but he spoke highly of the model I have and said it was top quality. Might want to keep it as it has many more years of reliable service left. He also replaced a broken water line which is a job no homeowner wants to undertake themselves. Fair Price, EXCELLENT Service. He also spoke intelligently about various brands of refrigerators and gave good tips.
