Description of Work: Hewes was recommended by a friend, and we were not disappointed. Excellent price and service. They were curteous, prompt, and careful during the packing and move. We would use them again and recommend them to others without hesitation.

Description of Work: They packed up my apartment and moved me to my new house. They were efficient, polite and went that extra mile on every detail. We were very pleased.

Description of Work: First, I went to contract on my house just as I was leaving on a 10-day trip, and the closing date was just 3 weeks later. I was nervous about juggling everything to get packed and out of my house in just 4 days. I contracted Hewes Family Movers because of all the great reviews on Angie's List, and I was not disappointed. I had one specific day that I needed to move and they made it happen. On the day of the move, the movers let me know that they would be 15 minutes late due to traffic (understandable). They checked my house to see what needed to be pack and what would be left behind (I had marked everything). they packed up my house within 90 minutes. they told me they would stop for lunch for 30 minutes and I would not be charged for that time. They arrived, unloaded the truck in a timely manner, set up my bed and shifted around a few things that I asked. Not a single item was broken or harmed. Their final price of $1000 was $600 below the estimate. I can't say enough about Hewes Family Movers.

Description of Work: This was a small household move of 55 mile move within the state of Georgia. I contacted several movers using the same list of items to be moved. Hewes Family Movers bid came in just over a local guy (One Guy and a Truck) who was going to rent a truck and do it himself. I passed on that option. The Two Guys wanted almost twice as much as Hewes. | |Hewes was great from beginning to end. They were on time, took great care with our belongings and were as polite as they could be. Just to top it off, they charged LESS than their estimate. When was the last time you had that happen? I highly recommend them. | |Scott

Description of Work: Great movers that really took a personal touch to get us moved. We moved about 4 hours away and we were packed and delivered by 8pm the same day. They were on the lower end of the estimates I received, but the quality was on the high end. No furniture casualties!

Description of Work: Hewes is a great mover, family run and well operated. They were punctual, efficient and courteous. They dealt well with a condo management on the move in for us, and they also were flexible in handling some stray items that needed temporary storage.

Description of Work: This turned out to be a bigger job than I thought but was in line with what the estimate predicted. We got a bit of a late start but additional staff kept showing up after finishing other jobs to make up the time. The guys were courteous, careful and conscientious and did what was necessary to make the move work. |Be sure to take advantage of the pre-move estimate. It's free and while most of us think we know what it will take, these guys really do know.

Description of Work: they use a trailer pulled by a pick up truck and for my job that was adequate, however the driveways in both cases sere at a grade that got some blacktop gouged out (a box truck would have avoided that situation) They sent young guys who didn't want to back in to the property (wh made egress easier and safer in my situations) but they weren't the best at navigating backing a trailer in that situation (again a box truck would have avoided that problem). |They were VERY good at lifting and not scooting furniture. All that remained in my situation was furniture (no boxes) and moving 15 mi away. So the entire process was done in 3 hours. |Very polite. Owner is outstanding.

Description of Work: These folks are amazing. Moved us a short move a few years ago and impressed us so much we asked them about a long distance move (my parents) from NY to GA. They did it without any other firm--no national company involved--and did it better than we could have imagined. Truly a great moving company.

Description of Work: They arrived on time for the move, and got right to work. They were fast, friendly, and efficient. While they did take a lunch break they kept it fast. All items moved as requested, very little breakage (all moves have some) Very pleased, would use again.

Description of Work: The moving process was good but for some reason the truck sent was too small. Anyway they showed up with another truck later to complete the moving.

Description of Work: Excellent! I can't imagine using anyone else. They were friendly and upbeat, even when the loading took longer than expected due to the number of boxes we had. They took great care of all our items. They have a unique way to move with a heavy duty van and a furniture trailer. The van enabled them to pack all our fragile items...plants, pictures, kitchen appliances, etc.-separately. Even our plants came out beautifully. They also connected my stereo system in our new home. That was an added bonus! I can't think of one negative thing to say. They were superb!
