They did really good.

They were kind of not your typical movers. I was expecting a big truck but they had a big vehicle. They were extremely reasonably priced and they were very conscientious. We had to bring the piano to the yard and put it in my basement. When we got it in there, I noticed a knob wasn’t there and they got a flashlight out and found it. I was very pleased with them. What I didn’t like was, they had warned me that my work was probably going to be later in the day and then it go to 5 or 6 o’clock at night. I hadn’t heard from them; so there was a little breakdown and I told them to call me when they were leaving from Duluth, GA. They didn’t call me and I had to go to my sister’s house to help them move the piano; so there was a little breakdown in communication. They were very personable and seemed to care about my object that I wanted moved. They went from point A to point B without any problem. Their price was very reasonable.

I got them off of Angie’s List. They were very good. They were very nice and polite. Their customer service is good. I would use them again in the future if need be.

These guys are the best. We have moved 6 times and these folks were on time, friendly and did a great job. I do not think they even bumped a door jam moving items in or out. They accomodated every request. I will recommend them to anyone moving in the future.

They got to my apt a little late and it took quite a while to leave this first location. Went to storage next and left the movers there to load up. Met them at new apartment and they finished around 5:00, started around 9:45. I moved mostly boxes and a grill, dresser, 2 end tables and pantry unit from my boyfriend's apt. Then went to storage for more furniture and boxes. Total trip miles approximately 15 miles. Moved into 1 bedroom apartment.

Bill and his awesome team showed up about 10 minutes ahead of schedule. All four guys went into each room and listened to what needed to be moved. I tried to make it easier for them as I just wanted certain furniture moved and I had placed a colored post-it note on only the items to move and they said it saved them about 35 minutes. Bill, Chris, John, and Taylor (or was it Tyler) were absolutely awesome - very professional, very courteous, and very careful with my furniture. They moved the furniture to a storage unit and I will definitely call them when I need to move from the storage unit to my new home! And I must add that Christy was very professional and called me back almost immediately with a confirmation. Great company...

I was so impressed with this company. I got quotes from 3 top companies listed on Angie's List, and I felt like this one by far had the best value. The other two companies gave quotes based on a list of furniture I gave them, but Bill Hewes came out to our house himself to review everything to be moved and give a free estimate. I felt better knowing my estimate was based on what someone actually knew the house looked like and what it contained. Plus the price included a lot of stuff normally considered extra costs by other companies. Mr. Hewes was friendly and explained everything very well. Just from my first phone call with him I had pretty much decided to go with his company. The morning of the move, the guys were about 30 minutes late, but they had called ahead of time to let us know they would be late and it worked out for me because I was running late myself. The 5 guys on the team were courteous, friendly, and had no problem lifting all the heavy stuff. They were even friendly to my two year old that kept running around trying to "help" them. They were careful with all of our possessions and put the more fragile items up in their van rather than with everything else in the big trucks. The move took a little longer than expected because there were a couple of small snags in the process (ex. our fridge was too large to fit out of the kitchen, so they had to partially disassemble it to get it out of there), but such delays were unpreventable and through no fault of the team. They worked very hard, especially considering it was 95F outside. We finally arrived at the new house in the afternoon and they quickly and efficiently unloaded the truck, checking with me about where I wanted everything placed. In a full house move like this, some damage to property is inevitable, and something I expected going in, so I was surprised that in two days of unpacking, the *only* thing I found was a small chip in a wood coffee table. I find that impressive since they had two trucks loaded to the roof with furniture and boxes -- it is a testament to what great care they took in handling everything. The Hewes Family moving team was great to work with, and I felt the whole move went very well and stress free. I hope I don't have to move anytime in the next ten years, but when I do, I would use them again, and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning to move!

Bill Hewes' team showed up early and they had a team packing and another loading the truck. They worked efficiently to get the job completed on time.They did an excellent job and I am very happy that I selected them for my move. I would highly recommend them and I will use them in any future moves I make!

From start to finish, they did a good job. There are many things I liked about this business, including ... 1. They offer a guaranteed cap on their services, which means that once they estimate the size of your work, they guarantee that the price will not exceed a certain amount. Bill Hewes was our estimator and came to our home prior to the move to survey and estimate costs, time, etc. Bill was excellent and his "estimates" were even better (they finished within 1/2 hour of both his packing and his delivery time estimates). We got quotes from other larger local firms, and even though Hewes Family Movers had only recently started getting reviews on Angie's List (all were good, but there were only a few), I hired them because I had a level of trust in Bill and my hunch turned out right. We need to support more small businesses to get our economy moving again, and it is great when you find a really good one that operates with integrity. They just moved us yesterday and I have already referred them to friends who are moving. 2. Boxes and packaging materials are included in the pricing. Honestly, their pricing was competitive simply on service and labor. When you factor in the additional charges most movers tack on for boxes, etc they win hands-down as the best value for the price. 3. They were professional, friendly, honest and courteous. I believe they said they've been in business 6 years and it is apparent as they work well together, They were friendly and polite to us as well. Very enjoyable group and we liked that a couple were even Hewes family members. Chris Hewes was our crew lead and did an excellent job, but the entire team of six people was top-notch, including the women.

Even though, the process took a bit longer than I had anticipated and the hiccups about coming out beforehand, I still enjoyed this company better than our last one we used.

Family business and local. First met with Bill Hewes--very impressed, sincere guy. Liked the pay at finish policy, liability coverage and discounts. Two-man crew arrived on time at 9 am at storage the day of move, and were careful with items, if not a little too "paced". It took about 2 hours to load pre-boxed contents and furnishigs into truck. I left for next stop, about 15 minutes from storage. Crew didn't arrive subsequently for over an hour. Unloaded a few items, added several more for about an hour. I gave directions to final destination, about 5 minutes away. Crew said they'd park in the lot there, but head for lunch break (off the clock). Crew didn't return for almost an hour and a half and we had a deadline to be finished with the condo elevator by 4 pm (only 1 1/2 hrs. to go after their return). Crew had to call in Bill for extra manpower and I pitched in. Did get job finished, but somewhat past deadline. Crew did remove some packing materials and helped set-up furniture and were curtious. One damaged piece, but Bill picked up and repaired at no cost, with warranty of re-repair if any problems. Mixed feelings on this one--really recommend Bill, but 5 hour job took 8 hours of the day, although not all billed.

They are outstanding!!!!! He and his crew are very hard workers, didn't take breaks and went beyond the call of duty.

It went perfectly. Nothing damaged. Everything put where I wanted it. Friendly owner and crew. Would definitely use them again.

They were truly outstanding, and they did it all in four hours. I asked them to send four men, so I could move the grand piano, and they sent four men, which was perfect. My experience with other moving companies has been that when I ask for four men, they send three men only, and then I have to call them and ask for the fourth man. I needed help hanging a very heavy and large mirror, and the owner, Bill Hewes, himself stayed behind and hung that mirror with me. I don?t think he charged anything extra for it. He did not have to do it; he was basically willing to do anything that would make the customer happy. I would give them the highest recommendation. There were a couple of things I was trying to get rid of, and they were willing to take anything like that; they have a women?s shelter or somewhere that they can take it to and auction it for a donation. That option is available if I don?t want to store stuff or just want to get rid of things. I did not have to worry about trying to get rid of it myself, which was nice. I got a 10% discount from Angie?s List. They were 15 minutes late, but they called to inform me about it. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Hewes showed up right on time, cheerfully, quickly and carefully picking up the goods at two different locations and then transporting them to our home in perfect condition. Hewes is a company that will really thrive and grow in the Atlanta market, as you can tell they really care about their customers' experience with them. Before the move, they took time to listen to us and accommodate our schedule; during the process, they reassured us that everything would be done right, and afterwards, they wanted to make sure that we were satisfied before we signed a check. Just fantastic people and true professionals we intend to call exclusively from now on, and we recommend you do the same!!

They were very reliable and right on time. They did a good job and delivered promptly in a very nice manner. I would use them again in the future too.

My job was a small job and they treated me like a big job. They came faster than estimated. They were very professional and ready to work. They were fast and very polite. I wish I could use them again just to give them the business.

I could not have been more satisfied with the move. Bill Hewes came to the house to review the items to be moved, so that he could estimate the number of crewmembers and vehicles to accomplish the task, and to provide a cost estimate for the service. He guaranteed the cost as the MAXIMUM cost, provided evidence on insurance, etc. On the designated moving day, Bill and his crew arrived on time, examined each piece of furniture to be moved for scratches, etc., wrapped furniture as appropriate, and carefully moved the furniture and other items onto the moving vehicle. Upon arrival at the new location, the crew carefully brought each piece into the house, placed them where asked, checked each piece again to make sure there was no damage. Their attitude during the entire process was one of helpfulness and friendliness. When the move was completed, Bill reviewed the time of the move, and adjusted the rate as necessary. The result was a lower price than his original estimate. They are true professionals. If I ever have to move again, there is no doubt who I will call. Bill Hewes is a Christian man who is intent on providing the best service possible, at the lowest cost.

I cannot say enough about these wonderful professionals! I had just a very small in-house move (moving a bedroom set from 2nd floor to basement and bookcases and a treadmill from basement to 2nd floor). Some movers I'd called weren't even interested in such a small job. But Hewe's was not only interested, they offered to work me in when they were in the area and then charge a smaller travel fee ($30 rather than $75). My timeframe was flexible, and I expected to have to wait a couple of weeks, but they were able to work me in very soon after I called. I was delighted! They arrived when they said they would and worked very quickly, carefully, cheerfully, and politely. Wow, what a breath of fresh air! When they got to the treadmill, they ran into some difficulty figuring out the configuration. Did they give up? No way! I got them a copy of the user's manual; they studied it for a few minutes; and before I knew it, they had it figured out, moved, and perfectly reassembled. And then, when they totalled up the bill, they cut 30 mins. off the charge so that I didn't have to pay for the time they were trying to figure it out. I mean--wow! Can you imagine?? Their price was half that of another highly rated mover here on Angie's List, and they did not ask for a non-refundable down payment, as their competition does. I not only recommend these wonderful movers, I do so heartily, and I guarantee you will never use another mover again! Thank you, Hewes Family Movers!!

Hewes Family Movers moved the furnishings from my mother?s estate to 3 separate locations: my home, my son?s home and storage. This seemed to be a daunting task, but the team arrived on time and loaded up with speed and efficiency. They efficiently delivered all the appropriate items to the appropriate locations. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the movers. They were experienced, skillful, task-oriented, and took special care with my mother?s antique clocks. Perhaps most amazing to me was that they loaded up our vintage, non-operational VW bus and delivered it in the same move!

Fairly priced for quality work. Bill was excellent to work with and provided an accurate estimate of the work required. Bill and his crew were punctual, polite, professional and were careful with my household effects. They were efficient in their utilizing time. Without a doubt I would utilize their services again.

I was comfortable and think that they will take care of things. I do not know much as I have not used them yet. I got three quotes, and they were competitive with the others.
