Great! They came and did an estimate which they emailed to me. On moving day the actual cost came to be much lower than the estimate. The 2 men who came were on time and worked hard from start to finish. Would definitely hire again!

The move went great. We had a two man crew and they were very professional and took good care of our items. The price of the move was also very reasonable. When we move into our house we will definitely be using this company again. Highly recommend.

They showed up on time and helped me move all of mine and my children's things. They were very quick and made sure not to damage anything. Nothing was packed, because of my situation, and they didn't mind helping me at all! The service they provided was the best service that I have ever received anywhere!!! They were very good and very efficient. I really did not use them; I chose another company because of associates of mine through the family, but they did an excellent job of contacting me, following up, etc. My interaction with them was great. The estimate was very detailed. They were efficient.

Excellent! Movers worked fast and efficiently. They were extremely polite and accommodating. Moved furniture and household items, plus my car, a TESLA, and they were extremely careful with the car, making sure everything was done according to transporting instructions. My furniture is very heavy and they had no trouble. I am probably most impressed with the speed of the move. I probably could have made the move cheaper with a big transport company, but all my belongings arrived in same truck and unloaded by the same guys who loaded. We all know, anything can happen in a move, but using Hewes Family Movers gave me peace of mind more than other movers I had reviewed, and that is priceless.

Outstanding job! Couldn't have been happier with the way the move went. Within one hour over a half of the house was cleared out. All the guys that showed up (4 of them - Chris, Colby, Dakota and Jesse) at about 5:45 am on the day of the move, ready to work. They were all very polite, personable, willing to answer questions, and strong. They were very efficient and careful with our belongings. There were a few *very* minor dings and scratches, all easily repairable with a furniture pen. This is not a big deal...the 3 piece leather couch I had barely made it through the door on the loading end, and it made it to TN in great condition. Two Tempur Pedic mattresses made it up here in perfect shape, as well as bedroom furniture, couches, desks, etc. Once in TN the crew always made sure that the items went to their proper rooms, saving us time and sweat. They even removed 3 pieces of furniture that made the trip to TN that we ended up having no room for in the new house. They disposed of them for us, saving us more time and money. We had to jiggle the actual move date a few times and they were happy to accommodate us. A woman from their office called the afternoon before and gave us the time they would arrive the next morning. It was somewhere around 9am, and they were more than willing to move it to 6am so that the loadout could happen during daylight hours in TN. The one thing that worried me is that Bill Hewes is sometimes slow in getting back to you when you are communicating with him. He seems to be very busy, and I can see why. He was always apologetic, and he DID eventually follow through with every communication. He seems to respond to texts faster than phone messages. Just know this going in and you'll be fine. Moving is very stressful, and there are horror stories aplenty from folks who got bad movers. They seem busy, and this is something that everyone should be aware of going in when you deal with Hewes. Do not hesitate to hire them. We couldn't have been happier with the move, the price, and everything involved in this stressful event. Thanks Hewes!!!!

I had a great experience with Hewes Movers. I have used them in the past, and I highly recommend them. I appreciate that Christin returned my telephone call and also sent an email which provided the necessary details (i.e. an estimate and the date/time of the move). Bobby, Daniel, and Jonathan were awesome. These men moved some very heavy furniture from a second level apartment, and then, they had to go down a breezeway to place the furniture on their truck. They were friendly and professional. The move took a little over 4 hours.

I am posting a review because I sent an email on Thursday, December 8th to communicate with Hewes Family Movers through the Angie's List Portal. As of Tuesday, December 13th, no response. I would like to move on December 27th. I am very disappointed that I have not been contacted. Hence the reason for a F rating for responsiveness. I would consider hiring if I received a call. I used this company to move in February 2014 and had an excellent experience.

The 2 person moving team showed up on time and both gentlemen were friendly and hardworking. I had them move furniture and pre-packed boxes. The move went very well, but my microwave was accidentally left on the truck and I did not realize it until they had left. I gave Hewes a call and they found my microwave and got it out to me in a timely manner, so it was no problem. I would definitely use them again.

Terribly. They damaged walls, flooring, furniture. They offered to make it right, and compensate us for damages, but it's been 3 months and they are no longer answering calls or emails and have not mailed the damage refund check.

We had the Hewes family moving service come and give us bid. (When I first called I had to leave a message but the company called us back within an hour) The bid was figured at four hours top. The estimator said he thought it would be closer to three hours. We hired them to move our heavy furniture from our old house to our new house. Dakota and his team showed up on time and asked us to show them what they were taking for us. We had furniture on 3 levels. They were very professional The disassembled the beds and re-assembled them at the new house. Took care of the washer and dryer. etc. They worked very efficiently and safely. There was nothing broken or walls hit. The young men moved the heavy furniture like it was nothing to them. They got done with everything in a little over two and half hours. From the bid process to the move, Great Job guys. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Moving day was stress free. Eddie and his team were great. The guys were friendly, courteous and hard workers. They seemed to always be in constant motion - no wasting time. Eddie was always available to answer questions and made sure that a few furniture pieces were given extra special attention. It did take the guys an additional three hours over the estimate but the additional time needed was reasonable. I highly recommend this company and encourage you to ask that Eddie be assigned as your team leader.

The Hewes team did an overall wonderful job for us. It was initially a little difficult setting up the move. I called several times and had to leave messages. The messages were usually returned within 24 hours however. We had four movers that were all courteous and hardworking with very few breaks throughout the day. I would highly recommend these folks. Our move took right at 7.5 hours

They got everything out of the house packed securely. Nothing was broken they did a great job!!!!!

Did everything they promised to do and then some!

Terrible....broken tool chest, scratched refrigerator, broken file cabinet. Owner makes a ton of empty promises....way to busy for his clients. Run, don't walk way from this buch

They did a great job. The owners and employees are a group of Georgia country folks. They are charming and honest. They packed everything for us. My friends had all warned me that packers for the large moving companies were low quality workers who will steal while they pack. But, Chris, the very handsome head packer and co-owner, brought his wife and children to pack for us. Needless to say not one thing was stolen and we had no breakage. Our move turned out to be a bigger than originally anticipated and they were quick to bring in other trucks and more Georgia country boys to handle the excess load. I would hire them again any time.

I did not hire this company as they were not available on the day I could move but I want to give a good review based on their customer service. Two other companies I called never even returned my call. Mr. Hewes returned my call that same day and was very kind and apologetic that he was not available that day. I would recommend this company based on that and would hire them in the future if I needed this service again.

It went great. They showed up on time (a little early, actually). The packers did a fast and good job on the things that I had not packed myself. They then went to lunch and met me at my new house right on time and got everything unloaded. They actually came in well under the price they had quoted me earlier, so I saved several hundred dollars. They did a great job overall and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The movers arrived on time and were extremely friendly and professional. The move was quoted for taking up to 5 hours, but they did that in less than half the time and they only charged for the hours they worked. I would definitely hire Hewes Family Movers again.

Horrible. They were very nice when I called to set up an appointment. Appointment day-No show. I called the next morning and they said they tried to call me to reschedule but I had given them the wrong phone number. My fault but if they had just honored the appointment it wouldn't have been an issue. We rescheduled and guess what - NO SHOW AGAIN. We move a lot so have much experience with moving companies. This has never happened to us before.

Lousy. The estimate to move me was $2500-$2900. After they moved me, they told me it would be $3600 (I wrote them a check). The owner found out about it and told me to save the check and adjusted the total back to $2900. The move itself was a mess-- I was not moved in until 11:30pm. The guys who moved me said the estimator should have told their packers to pack my items the day before but he didn't. They forgot eight items that I was eventually able to get. They moved an upholstered chair for me but delivered it without one of the cushions. There is a back cushion, a seat cushion, and a bolster cushion. I have the chair with the back cushion and seat cushion but the bolster is gone. The reason I'm reporting this almost four months later is because I've written the owner twice about the cushion but he has not responded.
