Excellent, my third new home and first in Atlanta. I spent time on Angie's a List looking at ratings and calling 4 companies. By far most professional in the quote process. Trusted my gut and glad I did. The crew was right on time, professional, great team work and attitudes. By far my best moving experience and I've had great experiences. Can't say thanks enough. I was not there, but my mom could not stop praising them! We originally had another mover to pack my mom's first POD, but they had just filled it willy nilly and could not manage to make it fit. So in the last minute we had to get another POD and get another mover as the first ones were not as accommodating. I called Hewes phone number and Bill did call back but had to leave a message. He had reassured us via voicemail that they could get all that I had noted done. They were available in such short notice and was able to get 3 men for 3 hours. They had arrived 15 minutes earlier and started right away!! They got the very difficult refrigerator taken apart and put into the pod in 30 mins. With the guys we had, they finished in 2 hours and 15 mins!!! My mom could not stop talking about Eddie, how courteous and nice he was to her. With my dad passing away just two months ago, this move was very emotional and she said that all three guys were so nice to her and it really eased her worry. She will be moving into a condo and will need movers to unload the two POD's and we decided that we will be using them again!!

First, be prepared to have difficulties contacting Bill Hewes. Nice man but I think he has some difficulty multi-tasking. Pricing is very attractive. The men are very nice, thorough, careful and great attitude. Everything went well and on time. They did damage a couple of items that I have not claimed yet - new dryer and a couple pieces of furniture. This was the 6th time I have moved and there is always going to be some issue with any move. In summary, Hewes did a very good job and I recommend them. If they were better at returning phone calls and emails, I would have given them a A rating instead of a B.

I used them and I ended up using them twice. They were fabulous. They helped us move in November of last year and then around December I believe. They came in and they helped us pack too. The first time we were moving from Atlanta to Savannah. The second time they helped move some pieces. They were very careful with our belongings. We were moving at the last minute and the owner came out to even give us a quote on a Sunday. They were on time and it cost exactly what they said it would. Nothing got broken either! I also wanted to add that they were very good packers too. We were extremely happy with them. I heard about them from Angie's List. We will also probably be using them again in the future. I wished Angie's List would let me give them an A+.

Moving went really well. No hassles or any games. We need to mention about the guys names here: Matthew Jones and Colby Raltson. They remained courteous, professional and efficient from start to finish. Because of this, our move was a pleasant one. Keep up your good work guys. God Bless!

I highly recommend Hewes Family Movers. When our move date changed at the last minute they accommodated our schedule which we very much appreciated! We didn't feel nickeled and dimed with a lot of extra charges. It was very clear what we would pay. The crew was professional, courteous and on time. They were hardworking and moved us quickly. They were moving faster than my husband! They did not break, drop or damage one item and no walls dinged. Just a great experience all around. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

They had someone come out to take an inventory on our move on a Friday. We were told that the owner would get back to us tomorrow or Monday at the latest with the amount it would cost to move us. Today is Wednesday and no one has called. Other movers give you a binding quote immediately after they take inventory. Further, no one ever answers the phone when you call. You have to leave a message for Dana, who will call you back several hours later. I will not be working with this company.

Excellent!!! I would highly recommend Hewes Family. The young men that came to move all of my items worked very hard and were very efficient. They even looked over everything that was being moved to determine the best way to load the truck. Unfortunately ,it was the first day of rain in weeks, but they continued to work in the rain with no complaints. They even rolled out the "red carpet" to keep from walking on my new wood floors. It was a great experience, the move was done quickly and came in under the estimate.

Preston arrived on time to give us an estimate. He was courteous and attentive to detail. The day before the move Bill Hewes called to confirm our appointment. The men arrived on time, 7:00 AM and looked over the situation and began work immediately. They were friendly, careful and listened to our requests for handling of certain delicate items. They worked as teams, their words, the old guys vs. the young guys. Randy and Eric beat the others with their efficency. They had great attitudes, smiles and words of comfort. They made the move almost easy.

It went great. Friendly, courteous, expeditious and careful.

I recommend this company for anyone who cares about their household goods. We had 6 men who were prompt and ready for their day. The move went smoothly with absolutely no problems. My husband and I have moved all over the country and I can accurately state that this company far exceeds any that we have used in the past.

Team of 2 arrived on time, called me when they were on the way. Very professional. The washer was extremely heavy I struggled with them with 3 men. These guys were not easily but they did it without a problem. Brought them up to my second floor. Disconnected my old machines and brought them down. They also connected my new front loaders in a very tight spot climbing to get behind them. They made sure all the connections were secure and spent extra time, zip tying the drain line an dryer exhaust to ensure it wouldn't pop off. These 2 guys were great. I had to throw them an extra $20 that's how good they were. I would without question use this company again and would recommend them.

WE ARE GLAD WE CHOSE THEM! They arrived on Wednesday morning to pack the dishes from the china closet, a large silver service, and a number of pictures, mirrors and glass tops. David and Matt arrived Thursday to move the furniture. In examining the furniture they found that one of the legs of the china closet was cracked. Though this was going to Sag Harbor, to protect the leg, they loaded this last and put it on its back so there would be no stress on the leg during moving. This required them to unload and reload this one piece in Virginia, but ensured that the cabinet reached Sag Harbor without further damage to the leg. The loading went well and they were professional and careful with our shipment. They unloaded the Virginia load Friday morning and our son and his wife were very pleased with the job they did. All arrived in good condition. The Sag Harbor shipment was unloaded Saturday morning, and again we received glowing reports of their professionalism. We hope to use them again next month when we move our remaining furniture to Florida, and would definitely recommend them to others.

If there is a PERFECT MOVE this was it. The crew which consisted of 4 men, Otto, Leon, Fred and Andrew were FANTASTIC. This was the most professional group of men I have seen in the moving business. They were exactly on time - actually 2 minutes early. Within 5 minutes they have viewed all that needed to be done and then started their clock. These guys didn't slow down and their team work was amazing. I would have to beg them to stop and go in the frig to get bottles of water. The gentlemen who went over the paperwork as the others started loading the truck explained how they would do the work and how I would be charged. This had previous been explained by the owner when I called to set this move up approximately one month ago. This company worked within my time frame and schedule which was tricky. They started loading at my house where my son had a huge amount of him furniture stored. After loading at my house we went to his house and finished loading the truck. To work our schedule the gentlemen then took their lunch break while my son, daughter-in-law and I went to the closing of their new house. GA Pack and Load STOPPED the clock instead of charging us during that time. When we finished at the closing Otto said to call his cell and he would meet us within 15 minutes at the new house. By the time we arrived at the house the guys had the truck open and were ready to start unloading. As they came in the door they were asking where everything went and wanted to know exactly where each piece should be located on the wall so that nothing would have to be moved by us after they left. These guys worked for 8 solid hours without every taking a break except for when we went to closing. They took pride in what they did and were smiling the entire time. I have moved many times in my life from many states as long distance moves and after moving to Atlanta I have moved 6 times but I have never had a move that was this easy and efficient. These guys wrapped and packed everything so thoroughly until there was not one piece of furniture or a box that had any damage. When I called Ga Pack and Load I was asked to explain exactly what types of furniture and boxes and was told exactly what size truck I would need. When everything was loaded - and we had some odd shaped items there was not one inch left on the truck but everything was on the truck and it was amazing to see how well they had gauged everything. I could write a book on how great these men were and how professional the entire team was. As a realtor I will always recommend Georgia Pack and Load to everyone I know and everyone I come in contract with. I can't say enough good things about this company and about the people who work there. Another example of how great they were - I called about a week before the move because I was worried that the truck wasn't big enough. I was told that if everything didn't fit in the truck these guys would deliver to the new house then go back to my sons townhouse and get any remaining items and it didn't matter how late it got the team would stick with us until everything was moved and we were happy. You don't get service like that every day. Again I can't say enough good things about this company and this crew. As the guys worked you get to know more about them and at the end of the move they met my daughter-in-law who is expecting their first child in October. The gentlemen saw her pick up something and they told her she wasn't allowed to touch anything just to guide them. As they were leaving each man shook hands with us, wished my daughter-in-law good luck on the delivery and Otto gave my son a man hug and wished them happiness and good luck with the baby. You can't find better people than these guys were. I would be thrilled to call each of these men my friend.

The Hewes company sent four of their vans and trailers to my apartment. They also had six men to perform the job of loading the furniture. They were able to finish the loading very quickly (it only took 2 hours) and then I sent them to two different storage locations. They completed the loading of the storage units in three hours. After they finished they even swept up the storage units and left them clean. They took pictures of furniture that was previously damaged and talked to me about their condition prior to loading it into the trailers. They loaded the vans with all of my fragile pieces (artwork, flat screen TV, mirrors). The following day they delivered the furniture and boxes (this is what I had requested). It took them a total of six hours to unload and set up the furniture. They did a wonderful job in securing furniture in storage. They placed furniture cloths between pieces to prevent scratches and stacked the furniture in a manner to avoid tipping. They were polite, patient and very careful with my furniture and boxes.

Did a great job, the 2 guys that came out were respectful of us and our items, cordial, and did a great job in a short time frame. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM!

They were on time. The estimate was way off and I thought it was too low but they left me with an expectation and it was not met. It was $1150. I am not displeased with the final number but was displeased with the estimate. The final number was still lower than the other estimates I received from other moving companies. They could have been more careful. Some of the clothing boxes collapsed and then they ran out of boxes for my library. They were very nice but somewhat lacked professionalism.

The guys showed up when they said they would. They worked so hard and so fast, they even finished the job early! The bill was adjusted to almost $400 less than previously estimated. I will use them from now on for my moving needs.

I gave them a B because they must be doing something right if they are busy. Angie gets a D for being such a pain about how I answered this review and pestering my email for not responding sooner. And she hasn't even asked about the company I actually did use.

The work ethics of these young men is incomparable. The crew of four worked in the hottest day of the summer to move 20 years of household accumulation up and down steps at our old home and then up and down steps to our new home. They carried a piano down a hill to get it into the basement along with several other very heavy pieces. They were very careful to move a 150 old chest that has been in my family for generations and were so conscious of not scratching furnishings, walls, or floors. I cannot say enough about this experience and would recommend them to anyone.

Once again, Tuesday at 1:00 came and went and at 3:00 still no one from Hewes had called or showed up for the appt. This is the very first time I have ever written about a bad experience w/a service provider. Frankly, the only reason I'm taking my time to do so now is because on the day I joined Angie's List, my first call was to Hewe's Family Movers. So far I'm not very impressed!

The guys were super fast, careful, and pleasant. I'd use them again in a second, but my wife insists that the next time we move out of our home it will be in pine boxes.
